SavannahBrookeColton People say I'm the life of the party 'cause I make a joke or two. Although I might be laughing loud and hardy deep inside I am blue. So take a good look at my face, you'll see my smile looks out of place. If you look closer its easy to trace the tracks of my tears. I need you, need you. Savannah stared off into the nothingness across the waiting room. Her mother was in Jake's arms, crying her eyes out as Jake tried to be strong.
Dammit. He didn't deserve this. He was only just sixteen. And her mother, she definatly didn't deserve this.
Art was next to her, gently holding her hand. "Yes, I do. There's not that much time." She stood up on weak knee's, still holding Art's hand as she walked through the 'do not enter without blah blah blah' doors.
She looked around, nobody even glanced her way as she walked along, pulling Art with her. She couldn't do this alone.
A few signs and wrong turns later she found her sister's operating room, and stood outside of it. "I can't go in there.." She mumbled. "But I should right?" She turned to Art, taking his other hand. She felt so out of place and her body was trembling like crazy, her eyes filled with tears that had yet to fall.

 A r t h u r | K . | G r a y ; Death is overrated. Art let her lead him (somewhat shakily) through the 'no entry' doors, and towards her sister's operating room.
She turned to face him, taking his other hand. It's funny. Less than a few hours ago, he'd seen her at her strongest. But now.. well. He'd never seen her this scared. His jaw tightened, his eyebrows still frowned with concern. "You won't have to do anything. If it is time now, all you'll have to do is touch her, and you'll feel her leave." he instructed. If it wasn't time quite yet for her sister to go, her hand would simply go through her- since she was still in reaper form. He pulled her close into a hug, wrapping his arms tightly around her.
He remembered his first. Of course he did. Everyone did.
He was terrified. But the feeling quickly faded to nothing. Just numb. It felt like you were setting someone free, but from your very own prison cell. Good for them- sucks for you. Type thing. He's spent centuries.. millennia, with that numb feeling lingering over him, until of course, Savannah. But now, she would have to feel the same.

Savannah nodded before swallowing and looking back at him. "I just go in and touch her then?" Sounded easy enough.
Too bad it was her little sister. "She's only ******** ten Art. I don't even know what happened.." She trailed off softly, her hands tightening around his.
She was shaking like crazy. Her sister was too young. And her family couldn't take another loss! It wasn't fair!
Savannah inhaled sharply before releasing his hands and turning towards the door. She bowed her head and walked foward, into the door and right through it. She heard the hussle and bustle in the room instantly.
"Glass..no. No. It's okay. She's decling!" Nurses were yelling and rambling. Savannah looked down at her sister on the table and winced. Her small, fragile body was mangled and bruised. She had caught something in the noise about a drunk driver. This early in the day?
God. Where had Karli been? Why would ... Savannah bit down on her lip as the machines buzzed and beeped. She reached for her hand, but nothing. She missed it, or so it felt.
No. God. False hope for her family then if she lived through this only to die later in the day. Dammit!

 A r t h u r | K . | G r a y ; Death is overrated. Art let go of her hand reluctantly and watched as she bravely turned towards the door and walked in.
He stood by the window into the room and watched the little scene going on with his arms folded. He looked to the ground and sighed as her hand moved straight through her sisters.
The machine to the side beeped, as if it was glitching, then all of a sudden, the steady beeping of a supposed healthy heart was heard. "Heart rate steadied. Breathing stable." the nurse noted. The doctor stood aside and looked at the monitor. "She's back. Good job. Let's hope it stays that way."
Art appeared behind Savannah as the surgeons, nurses and doctor started to clean her sister up, every so often throwing watchful glances at the heart monitor. He stood to the side of her and looked down at the little girl in the bed. She was small. And looked at lot like her older sister.
It was heartbreaking.
"It's not her time yet baby." he said quietly, ready for whatever reaction. Angry, resentful, sad, or cold. She was allowed.

Savannah sat there, her hands clenched together as she watched her sisters heart rate steadying.
Okay. Maybe, any other time, she'd be thrilled to watch her sister burst back to life. But for her to come back, just to die? That was too much to bare.
She would have been s much better off, just leaving now. No false hope for Adam and her mom. Savannah had given her family a lot of false hope during her sickness.
And now, with Karli too?
A cold chill severed her spine as Art came up behind her, making himself known. "Its not fair Art." Her face contorted as she watched the people clean up her sister.
"Its not ******** fair." She turned quickly, falling into his arms. A mix of emotions ran through her, but the one that really came out was pure anger.
"This is stupid! So stupid!" She felt hate piercing her veins. Not towards Art, by any means. But towards the damned ******** world! "I drank too! I drank a lot, a partied hard, but I would have never ever ever ******** drove afterward! Just for this ******** reason!"

 A r t h u r | K . | G r a y ; Death is overrated. Art held onto her as she effectively, fell into his arms.
He held her, so small in his arms, rubbing her back in an attempt to soothe her at least. "Life isn't fair sweetheart." he said quietly, no doubt being a phrase she'd have heard many times in her life, though probably not grasping the truth in the saying until now.
"I know.. I know. And that idiot will spend the rest of his life miserable because of it. And eventually get his comeuppance when his time comes." In a weird way, looking at it like that- Life may not be fair, but Death was.

She shook her head. "I don't understand it! Why her? That b*****d should have wrapped his car around a tree and killed himself, not my sister!"
Sav held onto him tighter, as if her own life depended on it. "It'd be different if her time was now, but this is going to give my mom hope when I know she is just going to die anyway.."
To say the least, she was pissed. "I want to kill him my ******** self."

A r t h u r | K . | G r a y ; Death is overrated. There wasn't much else he could say. He felt her hands gripping into him, no doubt tearing through if they could. It's never fair on the ones left behind. But they learn to live on.
He grabbed her shoulders and held her in front of him as she seethed, saying she wanted to kill the guy herself. Understandably. But still, it had to be made clear; "Doing that wouldn't help your sister in any way." he shook her shoulders a little. "Any way." he emphasized. "You understand?"
He sighed and pulled her back into his arms. "I love you Sav," he whispered into her hair. "I wish I could do something to stop this."

Savannah was taken aback when he held her shoulders. Then he shook her a bit. "It doesn't ******** matter if it'd help her or not. It'd give me some peace at mind that he'd never do it again."
She couldn't help it though. Art was holding her again, and she felt so small. The anger was stil there, burning through her. But she was a bit calmer now. Aside from the tears spilling all over his shirt now.
"I love you too." She said, her voice cracking. "You're doing enough by just dealing with me," She sniffed.
"All clean. Still stable? Take her to her room. Only family." Doctor obviously. Sav didn't move at first, even as they wheeled her away. It just wasn't ******** fair.

 A r t h u r | K . | G r a y ; Death is overrated. Art ran his hands down her hair and brought her face up to look at him.
He gave her a light peck on the lips and let go off her, moving his hands back down to her sides. "She'll still be here tomorrow." She said the book gave her a month.
He looked over her, and even though it wasn't possible, she looked tired. "You can take a break from this you know. We could go home for a bit, and come back later." he suggested quietly, glancing as the doctors took Savannah's younger second self back to her hospital room. And plus, he had an idea about what might help both her, her sister and her family.

Arts fingers were gently combing her hair before he tilted her face up to look at him. His soft lips pressed against hers before he held her by the waist.
Sav nodded, right. The book had said thirty some odd days. God, her mother was going to be slowly tortured all over again. But how could it be a month if.. it was only a car accident?
Ah hell. "I dunno.. I mean.. I should stay with them shouldn't I?" She looked back at her sister, just as Art did. "Or uhm.. maybe you're right." She sighed softly, closing her eyes.
"You wanna do the honors? I'm dead tired," Oh the irony.

 A r t h u r | K . | G r a y ; Death is overrated. Art rubbed his hands down her sides.
"You or I aren't going to do anything for now." he said quietly, pressing a kiss to her forehead before taking them away from the hospital room and into an empty bedroom with panoramic windows taking up half the wall, showing off a gorgeous sunset view- beachside.
Nothing like a private villa. It wasn't really his thing, but watching humans nowadays, this kind of thing automatically brought a sense of calm. And he figured she might need a little of that right now.

Savannah's eyes closed as his hands rested at her hips, rubbing her muscles gently. His lips touched her forehead and then she felt them moving.
Maybe not literally, but she felt a sense of change. And when her eyes opened she was staring at a barely setting sun out of large windows. She looked up at Art, a small smile forming on her lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing a small kiss to his lips before moving backwards to lay on the bed.
She looked up at Art from her new spot on the bed and motioned for him to lay with her. "Thank you," She whispered softly.
Yeah, she just needed to like, calm down. And cry now. If there was any tears left that is.

 A r t h u r | K . | G r a y ; Death is overrated. Art caught her smile, curling his own lips into a tiny smirk as she kissed him.
He watched as she moved backward to lie on the bed and motioned for him to follow. "My pleasure." he replied, walking over to the bed and knealt on the ground next to it, leaning his head in his arms on the space next to where she was laying.
She was so beautiful. Even in death, as cold as that might sound.
"Whatever does happen. She's going to be okay in the end.. You know that." He was sure he didn't have to explain how good heaven was meant to me. No doubt she had caught a glimpse of it.

Yeah, she had caught her small glimpse of heaven herself. But nothing compared to Arts arms. "She hasn't met her Art yet." She turned on her side, forgetting momentarily that she couldn't really sleep.
There was no need for it.
Her fingers traced over his face, memorizing his features. "How'd you do it? How did you watch me die?" Her fingertips traced over his lips softly before she removed his hand from his face and just held his gaze for a moment.
"I don't know how to watch someone I love die.."
