This was my first avatar past my starter duds - so about 3-5 days in:  I joined right around Christmas and so I wore those long bull horns a long time. Never had a dream avatar. I just quested inventory and thought that whatever I was wearing was the new dream, or quested something to add to it.

And you should do that, Memo. >3 I went back and looked at the first dream avi you posted. Individually, those items look like they'd be useful. XD;

I feel very, very ashamed. >.< But here we go. My first avatars in Gaia.
I found this little picture summary of my Gaia history from an ancient journal entry. I'm not sure if I was glad to find it or not. o___o;;
The same entry contained my uh... wonderful dream avatar plan. Back in the day Kiki was barely 28k, but I never made it - I added Staff of the Angels in the avatar to replace the brush and for some reason I started collecting gold to buy them both at the same time. Indeed, never really turned out... Either way, here's the avatar plan:
Wearing a set? Wearing a complete set?!

o: Your plan included some truly stylin' items for that time. A staff of the angels cost less than a kiki? Yikes. Too bad about the kiki. I felt the same way when it came to the penguin and seal slippers. At one point, they were 20k. I thought that was outrageous. I'd have to save up for four months for them... and not be able to buy any other items during that time. I couldn't do it. I decided it was better to save up for a sealed letter each month instead of buying just one item.
...If I had a pair of penguin or seal slippers, I'd wear them. I'd probably feel like I couldn't live without them. But... I feel just fine without them.

Wow, those items are all classic. XD; That sort of miss-matched look is still in today, but.. with newer items. Wow. Yeah, nice item choices there. I think it's funny that these old avatars keep having the pilot's goggles equipped. That's one good item. I stopped wearing it after I realized that the goggles counted as a different color. u .u;; I need to wear it more often.

But anyway~ we still didn't have much to work with back then and those scott hats really were some of the best hats we had. And you kind of even match. o: Not bad for a few days in.
^^ I like that plan of attack. That way, you always have something to wear as opposed to starting over and selling everything each time you want to make a new outfit. That's how people end up with only twenty items to their name after years on the site.

Ahhhh... well lots of those items aren't from 03. > < The kiki alone came out in 2005. That hair didn't exist in 03 either. Soo... maybe it took you a couple years to complete it? XD That's an expensive avatar, but not so expensive if you were able to grab the items as they came out. Since you have two first avatars, I'm assuming you don't have the shiny one anymore? Sadness. With a pair of penguin or seal slippers, that outfit could have been very stylish. Well, without the mouth. I'm pretty sure that those small smiles were only worn by newbies. No one cool had them. It's a cute smile and is accepted nowadays. Maybe you were long before your time.

sdrawkcab Those starter shoes are really that old? The aliens first appeared in 06, right? Man, now I feel old. To me, it doesn't feel like we've had starter items for that long, but that sounds about right.
