"I donnae produce milk, nae," Faolan chuckled. "Tha's why I hae th' bottle fae him." He looked down at Sam, the infant's eyes half-closed as he nursed, one hand still waving around slightly.

" But why isn't his mother feeding him?" That what they did, even if the two parents were splitting responsibilities it was Elle's job to be here for things like this.

"She's out wi' Rhian at th' moment, lass," Faolan explained. "Sometimes she needs a little space. She likes t' gae fae walks t' unwind a bit. She's usually here wi' th' bairns, so I like t' take care o' th' weans fae an afternoon t' let her gae do whatever she wants fae a bit."

Uzi just made a rumbly noise in her throat and returned her attention to Bel, fingers tapping on the baby's leg. Humans were strange and defied common logic.
Eli looked apologetically at Faolan " I'm thinking maybe a finishing school instead now." Not that he thought any type of educational institution could actually turn Uzi into a lady. Part of him was glad of that fact, he didn't really want her to change, on the other hand the man didn't look forward to having to apologize for her all the time either. he could try and teach her common manners but he doubted he'd be prepared for all the subjects the essentic could find a way to make awkward. Uzi was the most interesting part of his life and also the most frustrating.

Faolan took no offense to Uzi at all. "You know, she'd be welcome here t' gae t' school or just visit th' three o' them." He gestured to Zia with an inclination of his head. "Farstep's used t' strange an' ain't a person around here gonna think much on her."

Eli nodded " I think it would be good for her to be around people more." At least while she was still youngish and influential, Then she could be as distant from people as she wanted. He was no social butterfly himself on most fronts and Eli tried not to be overly hypocritical " And I do need to drag you lot out to the ranch at some point."
Uzi flicked an ear to listen to Fao, she'd be interested in seeing Ziazan and Lauss more often, Rhian not so much but she was tolerable. She could show off how different her running was now to the other female, how much faster her turns were on two legs.
" My climbing is better now" Uzi stated suddenly, looking again at Zia with her golden eyes, remembering their previous encounter "Human like bodies are better suited to being agile in between the tighter spaced branches."

Zia grinned. "You're still bigger than me. I bet you can still carry me for climbing." The small alter bounced a little, clearly liking this idea.
"We might come out t' th' ranch when th' bairns are a little bigger, maybe," Fao said, nodding. "I'd love t' gae out there, though."

Uzi eyed Zia carefully then nodded " Without much trouble at all." The other alter had practically weighed nothing last time and was no bigger now than before. Uzi could even carry him in practically the same way.
She shifted her arms a little and gestures for Zia to take Bel back, she'd grown bored of the infant already, besides if they got rid of the baby then they could go climb or at least wander. Uzi was still curious about what all was in farstep.
Eli smiled "Fresh air, barbecue and lots of dogs to drool on you," he promised. It was as far as he was concerned the good life.

Zia took Bel gently and put the infant in her little bassinet. It grabbed Uzi's hand, pulling the bigger alter to the door. "Come on, we can go look around the carnival, if you want."
"Don't stay out long," Faolan said, smiling a Zia's enthusiasm.

"That would be nice, I have yet to explore that area. " She'd tried to explore as much of what was in the city as possible, a good hunter knew every inch of their hunting grounds. Uzi's tail swayed eagerly behind her.
" Behave" Eli warned, he knew Uzi could play nice with Zia but he also knew her gentleness extended only to him. Everyone else was fair game to her.

Zia led Uzi out into the camps, making its way through them to the carnival. He pointed at a smaller black and silver vardo next to Fao's own. "Lee and Lauss live there if you ever want to come visit them. Sometimes Lee's with her boyfriend. He lives down that way in a green vardo with gold rabbits on it."

Uzi made note of both small homes for future reference." I would like to see Lauss again" she admitted. She could appreciate his dedication to lee's puppy better now and in general she had always found him interesting.
" Why does Lee live here now?" The young humans home had been luxurious and well guarded. Humans didn't fight for territory like animals anymore and surely if lee had felt the need for companionship she should have just allowed her 'boyfriend' to live with her.
Humans were confusing.

"She had some problems back home with her mother, so Faolan and Mama asked her to come live here," Zia said, not exactly telling the whole story. "Fao introduced her to Rory and they hit it off, so they visit each other a lot, I think."

Zia looked up at the other alter. Was she not having fun exploring the carnival? "So, what did you want to see first? There's all sorts of rides and games down that way, and in the other direction are different sort of shows. Straight ahead are all the vendors and shops."
