"As far as my mother and diversions go... Keep her focused on the wedding and she won't be any wiser by nights end," he said as he sat the menu down. He didn't know why he was looking at it. He already knew what he wanted.
Rhine knew without a doubt that Keeta's mind was exactly where his was. He watched her stare blankly at the menu knowing that she hadn't read it at all and had just picked the first thing her eyes came to. He couldn't wipe the grin from his face as he snaked his tail up her leg and just under her dress.
"Shall I motion for the waiter?"

"Yes," she said, squirming in her seat.
"Before you get the two of us in trouble..." she continued, a hint of scolding in her voice.
"And if you're sure we can keep your mother distracted..."

"I'm sure it will keep her distracted," Rhine said as he with drew his tail and raised his hand to motion the waiter. He didn't touch the subject of his last visit and how heavy things seemed in the house... He didn't know what was going on anyways.
"All right then what we be having today," he said as he pulled out a pad of paper and pen from his pocket. He was trying to be as formal as possible with the lady around (he didn't have to be when it came to it just being Rhine).

"I'll have the tilapia hollandaise with roasted potatoes and a salad with ranch dressing." she said with a smile, handing the waiter the menu. Keeta looked at Rhine expectantly.

"Alright then," the waiter said with a wink before he turned to Rhine.
"A trio platter with Gator Tail, Fried Clam Strips, and hot boiled Shrimp," he said as he handed the menu to the waiter. He took a moment to think about what he wanted on the side. "Fries, and Slaw," he added.
"Your usual then," the waiter said with laugh. Having their order he left them be.

"You come here often enough that you have a usual?" she said with an amused smile and a raised eyebrow.
"You'd think I'd know that, being your fiancee and all...." Keeta stuck out her tongue playfully.
"Anyways, perhaps you should call your mother and let her know what we've decided so she can finish getting things together while we're eating..."

"I come here at least twice a week," Rhine said half puzzled on why he hadn't brought Keeta here sooner. "And, we're pretty good buddies to. At least once a week if not every other week we go out and do something even if it is just going to a cooking class."
He pulled a napkin from the stack of extra's and a pen from his pocket. He jotted down a few things before bringing out his mirror. It wasn't as amusing anymore so he didn't pay much attention as he dropped the napkin through the mirror.

Keeta tried not to let her smile falter. She'd been living with Rhine for several months now, and they had been engaged longer than that. How had she not know about these activities of his? There wasn't any part of her that objected to him having friends and doing things apart from her. But it certainly bothered her some that she didn't know it was going on. Especially since they were planning on getting married TONIGHT.
"That's nice...I've never heard you mention him before. How long have you guys been friends?" she asked, before taking a sip from her water glass.

"I believe it was when I first relocated the Cafe," Rhine said noticing how tense Keeta was becoming. "We met at a cooking class... Really that is all we do. We go places so that we can learn."
He reached out and squeezed her hand. "I can have him join us for dinner if you like..."

Keeta shook her head.
"No you don't need to have him join us. It's just...I don't like surprises of that nature. You know...finding out belatedly that you have been hanging out on a regular basis with someone I've never met. I don't mind you having friends or even hanging out with those friends without me. Just...tell me what you're doing so I'm not finding out about it after the fact and wondering why you didn't share that with me."

"I'm sorry Love," Rhine's voice also expressed his apology. "It was just one of those routine things I did that I didn't think twice about it."
As he thought about writing down this day in his diary he suddenly had an odd expression on his face. "I think I forgot and left my diary somewhere..."

"I understand. And I know our relationship hasn't been very long as far as relationships go, but if we're going to make this marriage work and be good parents to our children, then we're going to have to communicate, tell each other things even when it might seem a little silly. I'm not ever going to say that's easy, but I think it's essential." She reached over and squeezed his hand, smiling a little.
"I'm sorry I made us have something serious to discuss tonight. I don't want to ruin the evening. As for your diary, I haven't noticed it. Where did you last write in it?"

"I used it the day after our first argument," Rhine said as he tried to think back to what exactly he was doing. He chuckled as he remembered sauce splashing out of the pot. "On, the kitchen table... I was making dinner... Or so I thought. Maybe it was on one of the tables down in the cafe... If that's the case then someone from the cafe probably put it in my office." He shrugged his shoulders... He would find it eventually.
"And, serious or not I don't mind because I know there will be kinks. I just forget sometimes to say certain things when they are routine... Like dinner at my mothers- you just don't miss it," he laughed. "She's going to have to make the kitchen bigger... Our family of four is going to be a family of five or six," he laughed.
"I love you," he cooed.

"Well even if it sounds routine, just let me know and then there's no confusion or miscommunication." She grinned at him and stood to walk to the other side of the table to kiss him on the cheek.
"I love you too...." she whispered into his ear softly, before taking his hands and trying to pull him to his feet.
"You expressed an interest in dancing earlier. How 'bout a little bit of that while we wait for our food?" she said with a smile.

Rhine's trademark lopsided grin appeared on his face. "I like the sound of that," he said as he stood up not waiting to strain Keeta with a moment of playful reluctance.
Rhine took the lead and led her near the place they had first entered. He positioned his hands properly for a slow dance. His tail curled around his leg so that neither of them would trip on it in the moment.
As if on queue the violin music turned a bit livelier.
