Well, think about this: A soldier just shot a woman in front of a public audience. If nothing else, the greek military has a mess to clean up for having a soldier attack a civilian who did nothing "wrong".

Of course, the REALLY hairy thing in all this is that it wasn't a Greek soldier, either, so it's a foreign affairs nightmare too! razz

Well, it was retaliatory. She got spooked when he came from behind and threw him.
It wasn't until he came and actually pinned her to the ground and asserting aggressiveness that she actually twisted his arms into a pretzel.

Yes this is true.
Also yes he shot her, but it was a tranqulizer rememeber. A air pressured tranqulizer pistol. Dressed as a Greek solider it would be easy to give a reason to why. Like SHE BROKE SOMEONES ARM no matter the reason for why she did it, she still broke someones arm. So he just has to say he was sedating her and taking her to a secure location for the time being till things calmed down. You need to keep order and most people in this situation would accept a simple reason like that from a solider. Again its not like he was trying to kill her.

She broke his arm(s) in SELF DEFENSE. As much of an overreaction as it might be, it isn't unwarranted to some degree. The fact that he can use either arm is already very surprising.
But he did state, and in the presence of other soldiers, that he has no commander..

Alright, but why he would ever find out about his? At least not till they are gone. Again I'm under the impression this tent was filled only with the dig team after all. So the word of a Greek soldier (or at least someone they think is a greek soldier.) could be taken with at least some trust. So with fake reason in hand he should be able to keep the civilians calm.

...I dunno about that. I mean, they've not taken being questioned very well. Seeing the single most important person there being shot, even with a tranq, is not gonna jive with them lol

True. Now the question is that now you have one man with broken pair of arms, who was being watched by the guards outside the tent, and then another man who stepped in and fired what would appear to be a round (at least to a civilian, although the military would note it as an air cannon round, or tranq) at a woman, and missed....
To help further explain: the dart hit the goddesses skin. In the time of the greeks, something like a sword or axe wouldn't even pierce the god's skin, so something as slow moving as a tranquilizer dart would basically be no different than shooting a BB at a tree. If he had a full fledged rifle for rhino hunting, it might have been a different story, but as it stands, a small pistol won't be effective.
