Sicon2003 mechredd At one of the arenas by me there is this one guy who is trying to get picked up by a good team. To impress them he always playes against the woodsballers who are there to play airball for a change. He slaughters them all the time. One time the woods guys got pissed, so they surrounded then unloaded on him. There were like 10 guys just shootin as fast as they could at point blank range at him after the game. He went to the arena players to get help for some retrabution. They threatened to do the same to him because he's a total a** that no one likes. Very cool. That had to be a sight to see. Generally all the guys at Crossfire (the biggest field in southeastern Michigan, and 20 minutes from my house!) are pretty cool. The airball players understand that alot of woodsballers want to get into airball so even the really good will offer to play, and will go easy on them so they gain experience without being discouraged. There are three huge woodsball fields there and the woods guys do the same for the airballers because they like the woods for somthin' different now and then.

RIGHT ON!!! Theres a guy at the local field that does that to. He needs an a** kicking like that. Well he got something close to it, his mask took a brutal beating. he left it at the field. he just bought it the day before and 5 guys just unloaded on it. about a case worth. he soo deserved it. but he continues to newbie slay as much as possible.

I am like the exact opposite. I don't know why, but the newbs seem attracted to me to ask all sorts of questions and stuff like that (maybe it's cause my A-5 looks more like an M4 or something, i don't know). They tend to stick near me during a game, and i end up showing them all the best bunkers, routes, etc.

totally man. helping out the newbs is the best thing that you can do in any case. i myself do that as well. i have alot of respect for the guys who take the time in a game who will help out the newbs. in my eyes i see that it makes it more fun for them and when thier newbs thats the best feeling. weve all been there. fresh to the sport and sitting behind a bunker scared as heck. i remember having the best time of my early days in the sport when the more experienced players showed me the ropes. if it wasnt the for that i dont think i would have gone as far into the sport as i have. so for those of us who help out the newbs....props. Then again there are those of the more experienced players who just stick to thier teams and dont remember that there is newbies out there who dont know what to do out on a field. Therefore they get scared and they dont have as much fun. Let us all remember that the sport is supposed to be fun. for everyone and not just us. be as serious as you want when your practicing and in tournaments and such. but if you join a game that has newbies involved loosen up and dont be as serious and just have fun at it and remember the newbies who are out there. so ya...hehe sorry had to drop that spiel..dont mind me..

Blarg, my field might not have any tournaments the rest of the season. They're goin to have a big game/scenario game, and a couple other events, but no tournaments are on the schedule for quite some time. Only positive thing is that that team i'm tryin to put togeather will get more practice time.

Crossfire is having two more tournaments this summer. One where the airballere will play woodsball, and the other is where the woodsballers play airball.
This time of year you'll see alot of teams playing the other's game. It's fun to be a woodsballer right now because the airballers want you to be ruthless to them so they can get practice.

They start on Sunday. I went to practice for the woodsballers airball tourny today. To help us "learn", the airballers were being ruthless. I was playing against alot of Impulses, an angel, a few nerves, and 1 DM4. We kicked thier asses. In the beginning we were getting slaughtered, in the first game I only made one step out of the gate and took a shot to the neck. By the end of the day us woodsballers and our Tippmanns owned the field. We did lose more than we won but once we began to hold our own we did fine. Alot of the airballers told us to give up woodsball because we were "suprisingly good". They relied totally on fast movement and high rates of fire, we just had to keep track of them and pin them down. It wasn't very hard once we become accustomed to the style of play. Personally, I don't think that they were giving it thier all, and we mostely caught them off gaurd.

Dang, my school paintball team got shot down. Our principal had guaranteed our team, but we also had to present the idea to the other schools so they could get the chance. I told him to make sure i was at the meeting, so i could represent the club and the sport. Well, he never told me when the meeting was, and came back saying there were moral issues, and abolished the team. Now i'm back at square one, not cool.
