Rhian shrugged. ". . . It's noisy. And smelly." A big bite of cotton candy later, however, she added, "But it's neat not being the littlest one any more. . . and the babies feel differently than all you adults do . .. it's..... um.........um, cleaner...." Not that "cleaner" really made any sense, but it was the only way Rhian could describe the feelings the twins held. at such a tiny age.

"They're pure, untouched," Faolan agreed, nodding. "They ain't known pain or heartache or betrayal. They're just these perfect little people full o' love an' trust. It's why I love babies so much. Well, children in general, really."

Rhian tilted her head, watching Faolan. "I think it's mostly babies; there's some really young little kids who don't feel that way . . . they mostly feel sad or scared - not here, but um...... well, nevermind," she trailed off, blushing.

"Sometimes kids are unhappy. Didikai believe very much in family an' place it in high regards," Faolan said. "We take care o' th' kids. I donnae think all families are like tha', though."
