Ka Shu Fa spent the rest of the day and as far into the night as the sight of a human could allow organizing and constructing all that was needed to hopefully prepare for the up coming battle. No one could be sure when they would attack and Fa would not put it past them to attack during the night.
Which is why she stood on the shore. Watching the waters and listening to the night for any sign of disturbance.

The night went without disturbance. Another man showed up, "I am Nu Ping. I will be your water mystic. You may rest if you wish. I can sense any disturbance of the water simply by touching it." He smiled, though the darkness hid his smile. In two nights the new moon would render the night entirely without light.

Ka Shu Fa eyed the new comer, "The Sing must be thrilled to have three mystics in their presence." She said sarcastically. Though she did stand down from her high perch, it was only to rest against a pile of construction materials while she rest her eyes.
"I am Ka Shu Fa." She said, eyes still closed, "The fire mystic."

"They don't need to know what we are." He took off his sandals and dipped his feet into the water. "They will strike in two days, or so Nu Sou thinks. I think he might be right. What was with that one girl?"

"Sing Shu?" she asked rhetorically, "What of her?"
Ka Shu Fa had a sudden urge to protect the girl's good name should the new comer say any ill against her.

Ping shrugged, "I've no idea. You spoke with her. I did not. Would she be useful here?" He yawned and laid back, looking at the stars. His leg moved back and forth lazily in the calm river.

Fa thought for a moment before answering, "I believe she will. She has power... and a good spirit to go along with it. I just hope her people realize what she is doing for them."

Ping smiled, "Then you should probably go get her. I can hold off an incursion over the river for now, but it'd be nice to have another."

Fa sat up straight, "Are they attacking now?" She demanded, already moving towards the Sing village to summon up the other mystic and men.

He raised an eyebrow lazily, "Not really. I think a few ducks are swimming up river, but that's all I'm pinging. I'm just saying, Nu Sou wanted three here. We could use a third."

Fa sighed and ran a hand down her face, "I have been doing this for far to long. Wait here, I will summon the girl." Fa said, going to the village to collect the wind mystic.

Back at the Sing Tribe, Sing Shu was laying on her mat, looking at the top of her master's tent. She could hear him snoring quietly, but she could not sleep. She kept thinking of the strangers from the allied tribes. She couldn't help it, she was curious about them, she wanted to know more about them. She wanted to help them get rid of the bandits and keep her tribe safe so that she could show her parents that she wasn't trash that could be thrown out.

Fa summoned up her Blessing of Kaji when she came to the tent where Shu resided, "Oi." she said lowly, "I know you are awake girl. Now come keep watch with us." Her voice was low and though it commanded Shu's attention, it left others undisturbed.

Sing Shu sat up straight, looked over at her master, who was still sleeping. She sighed silently and got up, pulling on her slippers and grabbing her spear, she left the tent.
She saw Ka Shu Fa standing outside, waiting for her. "How did you know where I live?" She asked Fa. "And you don't have to call me girl, I can't be much younger than you," Shu told Fa, she wanted her to know and to stop calling her girl.

"I have been told I am very observant." she said dryly. And though she was loath to admit it, Shu was right.
'I should not be so disrespectful to an asset.'
"Come, Sing Shu, we must keep watch with Nu Ping." She said as she held the flame up, letting it light their way to the river bank but dousing it when they drew near.
