Prince Marik Ishtar

Marik moved into the other side of the booth and smiled at the man when they were given their glasses. "Huh? He looked at her a little confused, Marik had thought it was normal for human's eyes to change. "My eyes are like a mood ring I guess, they tell what I am feeling and how emotional I am." The side of his lips turned upwards to form a sweet smile as he then went on to explain to her. "The lighter they are the more relaxed I am, the darker the more annoyed or angry, and the more brighter the more I am excited or happy." Leaning his back against the leather on the booth Marik shrugged, "yeah that's the hardest part...but I think I will have Indonesian cuisine first."

"I wish my eyes did that." said Lerena. "I used to have a mood ring so people would know when I'm enraged. I still have it, but I don't wear it to school." she explained. She blinked when Marik replied to her about which food to eat. "I need to stop thinking out loud." she said. "I think I'll go for the pasta. Man, I love pasta." Lerena decided. She stood up and began cruising the Italian area for pasta to eat. She found some spaghetti with large meatballs and put a fair amount on her plate to eat then she sprinkled some parmasan cheese on it. Then she got some sweet ice tea to drink and returned to the booth. If she was still hungry after this, she would go back for seconds.

Sliding out of the booth Marik paused when she made the comment that she needed to stop staying things out loud, he tilited her head. 'She did say that out loud right? I didn't read her mind...Did I?' He asked himself, it wouldn't be weird if he had read her mind, with the Yami inside him he was learning that he was wither blessed or cursed with some talents that were almost super human. Shaking it off, Marik wondered to the Indonesian area and filled his plate with a huge helping of several different meals then returned to the booth after getting himself some hot tea. Joining her at the table, Marik smiled and took a seat.

"These meatballs taste awful! Just kidding, they're delicious." said Lerena, twirling her fork to get some spaghetti on it. Marik probably wouldn't know she was joking so she had to add she was kidding as soon as she had finished her statement. She noticed he paused when she made a comment about talking out loud. Why did he pause? Was there something she should know? It wasn't exactly her business, but she was a naturally curious person. Her imagination began acting up with lots of possibilities for why he paused. Maybe he was communicating with alien lifeforms or maybe he had schizophrenia. Most people would consider her weird, but she did believe in magic. She thought about what she could say, but she wasn't used to talking to people outside of her family on a casual basis. She had friends back in America, but they were probably afraid of her. "So...tell me about yourself." said Lerena. She wanted to start a conversation. Perhaps she could find common ground with Marik somewhere. That would be a good place to start.

He brought a tan hand to his mouth, covering his lips and muffling the slight chuckle from the comment. Marik looked up at her from his plate when she asked him to speak about himself. His purple eyes were a light pale violet he was very relaxed with her already she was so nice already and he found her fiery attitude to be very alluring. "Hmm." Sitting his fork down so the tip was on the edge of the plate and he picked up the warm cup of tea. Taking a sip, he smiled and answered her. "Well, like you I am not from Japan, I am from Egypt. My ancestors were the great guardians of the Pharaoh's, however I had the chance to change my life and I did. My sister brought me here a year ago, even though we were both educated higher then the students here she enrolled me in this school to make friends and so I could have a normal life. But Isis, my sister, decided to go back to Egypt and carry out her destiny as a temple maiden." Picking back up his fork, Marik smiled. "What about yourself?"

Lerena looked at him like she was trying to probe his mind and then decided he was telling the truth. 'Normal' life huh? She normally favored those with abnormal lives more, but she knew trying to fight her heart's desires was a very bad thing for her indeed. She did feel attracted to Marik, but she hoped Renoko wouldn't spoil the potential for them to become great friends. "I'm from America and my ancestory traces back to the witch trials. My education is higher than the students here as well, because I used to attend a private school back in America. I like some pretty weird stuff, but I believe that fate can be changed. If you want to know something about me, feel free to ask." she said with a smile. She sipped her tea.

Marik set there listening to her his eyes locking on her's to show he was giving her his full attention, she deserved it. "You like strange things, then do you believe in magic?" Normally this was the last thing he would ask someone that wasn't the holder or knew someone who held a millennium item, but she was different then most people he had met so he was willing to risk it. "Do you believe that a body can hold more then one spirit, and that humans have a Ka and Ba? Or do you believe that people can make a potion to make someone love you?" Once the questions were out there he went back to eating.

Did Marik believe in magic as well? That was just her luck! "I do believe in magic. A body can hold more than one spirit, but I haven't seen it happen. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of a Ka or a Ba though. I prefer making someone love me by natural means; being myself." explained Lerena. She wasn't sure how Marik would take this response, but hopefully she didn't sound crazy. She and Renoko were looking for strange things and that included beings capable of magic and such. But Lerena desired power and she didn't want Marik to know; she would seem selfish and if she was falling in love, she didn't want her heart to be broken again. His eyes truly were a beautiful shade of purple. Lerena went back to eating and occasionally took a sip of her tea.

Finishing up one of the servings he had on his plate as he listened to her talk, her voice was beautiful, as it lingered in his ear. A bit shocked when he heard her reply, she was the first one that didn't freak out about the questions or shoot him weird looks. "That's pretty cool. Well Ka and Ba won't make someone fall in love with you." He chuckled lightly then added in. "Ka is your life force inside your body, its said in the ancient times in my home land that there was a guardian who held an Item that could pull someone's Ka from their body, and the Ba is the energy in your body, when you use it up then you get sleepy." He blushed a little, "sorry I feel like I am lecturing you. Turning his eyes back to the plate he started to tackle out the rest of the food.

"That's interesting." said Lerena with a brief smile. "I always have been interested in the history of Egypt. I'm interested in the history of Japan as well." she explained. "Well, if you were a teacher, you'd probably make a better one than some of the ones I've had in my lifetime. I only cause trouble for the teachers that bore me to death, namely math teachers. P.E. teachers can get pretty bad too." Lerena remarked. Was it her imagination or was he blushing? That was interesting. She cleaned off her plate and sipped the rest of her tea. "You know, I'm never going to remember that if it's on the quiz." she joked with a chuckle. "What kind of Items were these?" Lerena asked. "It takes awhile for me to get tired." added Lerena. "I can be fine for a day just on 5 hours of sleep. But I prefer a normal amount of sleep just because."

Cleaning off his plate, Marik was full he didn't think he could even eat a pea at gun point at the moment. Laughing along with the comment she made about the teachers and such, even the slight jokes that were passed at him, the blond haired male picked up the napkin and wiped his lips off. "Well everyone's Ka and Ba are different, its a unique code that if solely for you, no one else in the world has the same code not even twins...Anyways the items are called Millennium Items. Maybe one day we can tour the local museum together before the ancient Egyptian tour is over. I am sure they have tablets with the stories on them." Marik didn't want to risk boring her with the stories so he played it off. "Are you going back for seconds?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 29, 2009 2:21 am

"That would be interesting. I'd love to see them." said Lerena with a smile. "Ah, I'm stuffed right now. If I eat anything else, it'll be like overkill." she remarked. She picked up a napkin and wiped her own lips off. It was only polite to do that when in public. All of this information was very interesting and she loved to hear about it. Even though she believed in magic, it was another thing for someone to possess great knowledge of special items that could perform it. She wondered if Marik had such an item, and if he did, what abilities he would be able to carry out. But if he did have an Item, he probably wouldn't be allowed to tell her. This was distressing for her, because she absolutely hated for others to keep secrets from her, and yet, she had to accept that others also had things that were meant to be secrets. Lerena didn't want to intrude on anyone's privacy or anything that she wasn't supposed to know. She told Renoko everything, but she refused to tell her sister about the things she just found out. Renoko would be bent on finding out more about them and that may be a bad thing. "I'm in the mood for some karaoke." Lerena added. She wasn't sure how Marik would feel about the songs she liked to sing; they were often pretty dark.

Nodding he signaled for a waitress to come over, she handed him the bill and smiled as he searched through his wallet and handed her a twenty and a ten. "Keep the change." His eyes didn't linger on the lady long before they were back on Lerena. "Karaoke, huh...are you any good? The boy asked bluntly, he smiled a little more and got up once the words left his mouth. "They have free Kara-Mara until 5pm a little down the road, want to go there?" A part of him was happy they were changing the topic but the dark side wanted to know what kind of witch craft the young lady was into...and why?
PostPosted: Sat Aug 29, 2009 2:46 am

"Am I any good?" asked Lerena, pretending to be insulted. "Why, yes. The machine thinks so. But otherwise, it's entirely opinion-based. I think I'm good, but someone else might not. Thinking a person is good at singing probably starts with liking their voice though. If you like my voice, you'll likely enjoy my singing. I do want to go there. What kind of songs do you like? I can take requests." she remarked. A side of her hoped that saying her ancestry led back to the witch trials wasn't a bad thing to say. Even though she was into witch craft, she had no intention of showing Marik that side of her. She wasn't sure how he would take it. Renoko loved witchcraft and because of that, she got Lerena into it as well. Was that a bad thing? She smiled at Marik as he paid for their food. "Are you any good at karaoke?" Lerena added. "I'd like to hear you sing."

Turning around to look at her as his long blond hair fell behind him, Marik shrugged his lean shoulders at her question on if he was any good at it. Taking advantage of the girls own words, Marik shot them back at her playfully. I think I'm good, but someone else might not. Thinking a person is good at singing probably starts with liking their voice though. If you like my voice, you'll likely enjoy my singing." He chuckled and started out of the restaurant. "Are you coming? He called back still teasing her.
