Xiang watched the leaves as they passed, feeling sad. He was expecting her to move on, soon, wasn't he? She didn't plan on moving on at all, if she could help it, but...she felt the urge to say something. "Yeah, I guess it'll be winter soon," she said weakly, still trying to gather her courage to voice her thoughts. It was after a few, long, painfully silent moments that she managed to get her courage together. "I guess it's going to be awhile until I...you know..." she started uneasily and uncertainly. "I mean...I don't plan on...moving on and all...for awhile...well...ermmm...I guess...I guess I don't really want to move on, it would be so lonely without you around," she babbled. That was all she could do right now. Babble her uncertainties.

Wyatt paused, listening faintly as Xiang babbled. Maybe he was the branch and Xiang was like the leaf. He had supported the female and helped her grow strong, then they have to leave the branch. 'I don't want you to leave either." He said bluntly, bothered by the prospect of branches and leaves.

Xiang stopped mid-babble to stare at Wyatt. "Really...?" she asked softly, wanting and afraid to believe that it was true, wanting with all her heart to believe that he'd said he didn't want her to leave. "You really...you really want me to stay?" Tears of joy and hope began to fall down her creamy cheeks, and her green eyes shone a little bit as she smiled softly.

Wyatt stopped, turning to face Xiang. "I don't want you to be the leaf. I want-- you to stay around more." His cheeks turned a little purple from blushing. He looked on in surprise at her tears, but her smile counteracted them, and he began to smile. Those must be those so called happy tears. "I've grown rather attached to you."

"I've grown attached to you, too," Xiang said softly. She shyly stepped next to him and extended her delicate muzzle to nuzzle him happily. She wondered what the bit about the leaf was, but momentarily brushed it off as unimportant. This was not the moment to ask about leaves. This was a time she'd waited for since she'd decided to stay and recuperate with Wyatt.

Dark blue eyes brightening, Wyatt leaned gently into the nuzzle. So they would be like those northern trees he had heard of before that kept their leaves and stayed green. Forever greens? Well, Xiang did have some green on her. His rationalizations were odd, but made sense to him. Thinking on what was happening, a thought of Xiang's old friend flit through his mind. How would, er, what's-his-name react to news? What if he didn't like it? The thought only lasted a second though.
"I'd like you to meet my family, Xiang. Eventually. They'll love you, and you'll see what it's like being in a family. Then..." He paused. Was he getting ahead of himself?

Xiang smiled. A family. That's what she'd have with Wyatt, someday, and she now belonged to his family. "Of course I'd love to meet your family," she said happily. "I'm sure they're all very wonderful, considering what you're like." She cocked her head at his pause. "What is it? What after that?" She was curious, excited, and a little worried. What was on Wyatt's mind that had made him pause?

Wyatt's tail brushed against Xiang's leg warmly. "I was just thinking that, after you meet my family, we could make a family of our own. You and me. I want you as my mate Xiang." Well, he couldn't get much plainer than that. Saying that he was attacthed to her, it didn't seem like enough for what he was feeling. Praying to the goddess that he hadn't scared the female off, he waited.

Xiang blushed very deeply. "I...I'd like that, too," she said softly and shyly. "I want to be your mate, too." The idea of having a real family excited and delighted her. A real family...she'd never had that before...and Wyatt wanted to make a real family with her. She'd always wanted a real family, always, and the chance to have one with the stallion she'd come to truly love made her incredibly happy. Xiang was too happy to express words right now.

With a loud call, Wyatt reared up on his hind legs in happiness, and to show off a little bit. He rubbed his nose against Xiang's once he had settled down. "I don't think I've ever been happier than this moment." He would help her grow and learn about family life. He would get his mother to talk to her about raising children and being a mate. They would have a good life together. They had so much to look forward to.
"So, what kind of home would you like? Something in the forest? The caves?" It was always good to start planning early.
(( Unless you've got extra plot for this rp, we can probably end this one too. ))

Xiang smiled happily. "In the forest or on the plains, somewhere where there's always lots of life around." Starting a life together with Wyatt...meeting his family...starting a family together...and eventually...they'd reconcile her own past. But for now, she was happy. Her future lay before her, a future with Wyatt and their family, a real, true family with the one she loved. She was gladder than ever that Wyatt had fished her out of that stream when he did. He had given her so much, and in the future, when they had their own family, she wanted to be able to give back and to be happy.
