As if to explain himself, Nao offered her a sort of half grin and a goofy shrug. "You were bleeding."
Her conceding defeat caused him to grin and 'forget' about what happened, or at least change the subject. He latched on to the idea almost immediately, since Aylana appeared to need some more time to think.
And hopefully to cook. "Do you need any help?" He asked, charging ahead and motioning to the ribs.

Aylana glances down at the ribs, before looking back at Nao. With a small nod, she turns as best as she can with Nao being so close "Sure, could you grab the lemon pepper sauce for me?" closing her eyes, she quickly pulls her hair out then puts it back up into a ponytail. Anything to help her mind think over what just happen.
After a few minutes, she finally shakes her head. Turning to face Naolin she frowns "Nao, please tell me that the kiss won't ruin this friendship. This strange but amazing friendship we have. I like being able to be myself, and I don't want to lose that."

His hand reached for the lemon pepper sauce just as she whirled around to ask her question. Naolin frowned slightly. "Why would it?"
Suddenly, warning bells rang off in his head and he suspiciously narrowed his eyes at her. "Wait," he began cautiously, keeping his voice as level as possible, "You aren't angling for something more, are you?"
Part of him hated to accuse Aylana of this (the voice in his head echoed this idea), but he had a good amount of experience in batshit crazy women in his past. Betrayal and manipulation is what they did best, and while Aylana had always proved him wrong in these matters, he became scared.

Aylana shakes her head as she laughs "Don't take this the wrong way Nao. Your cute, but I don't want to have another man hurt me. I like being single and choosing who I want to lay next to. No attachment is far better then love." she was glad at least they seem on the same page, or so she hopefully thought.
Tilting her head alittle, she finds herself smiling "I asked because I don't want to lose your friendship. Like I said, I like having you around." taking the sauce, she pours it into a bowl as she place one set of ribs into the skillet.

Naolin scrutinized her for a moment before he was satisfied. "We are of the same thoughts," he finally said, watching her cook with interest before he fell into old habits and began to set the table.
He couldn't think of much else to say, at that moment.

Tossing a few extra seasoning into the sauce, she pours some of it over the ribs before she turns them over. Doing the same to the other side, she sets the bowl down as she hums alittle to herself. At this point, she wasn't sure what she could say. Looking over her shoulder, she chuckles before she finds herself laughing.
"You know, if you hadn't kissed me. I would have won that game, I would have made you throw in the flag." looking back at the ribs, she turns them over for a minute to cook on the one side.

"You say that now," he answered, voice and stance in full gloat mood now that they had stepped past the little awkward moment. "But you didn't, and that's why I won."
Nanna nanna, boo boo!

Aylana smirks as she pulls the rib off the skillet, placing it onto a plate. Turning she eyes Naolin for a moment "You wanna try for a round two then?" her voice held alittle joking in it.
Indeed they had got past the awkward point, almost as if it never happened.

He avoided the question with a grin, " Now don't be a sore loser." In other words... No, there will not be a Round 2 anytime soon.
By then, he didn't seem much for conversation, since the smell of the meat had wafted over to him by then, and his mouth watered with hunger.
