"I...don't think so," he answered, recalling the woman at the top of the stairs. But who knew? He was less ready to dismiss things he didn't think made sense nowadays - most things didn't! "I was an archangel. But maybe I could talk to one of them sometime?"
"Stefan tries to help too, but..." Mik shook his head. "It doesn't actually help much. We just have to figure things out for ourselves, I guess."

"I don't see why not. Kedana can get kind of scary and Darek's a brat, but the rest are nice. Oh, and Oriand can't talk so I don't think he'd be much help." Seung shrugged and started kicking her feet again. "So long as I don't have to go back...there again to figure things out."

Kedana, Darek, Oriand...once again, Mik couldn't help but wonder just how many siblings Seung had, and how she managed it. It was something he filed away to ask about later. "Do you think it would still be dangerous?"
Would they just find someone else for her to marry? Even if the next one didn't want to kill her, well...that didn't make it much better at all. And for all he knew, Seung didn't actually know her 'fiancee' was dead. He never had told her about that.

Seung shrugged, her mouth pulled to one side as she thought. "I'm not sure. A couple days after we got back some guards tried to take me away again but Oma stopped them." She frowned, her furrowed brow making her false eyes shift into odd shapes. "I don't think the King or Han-gyong is going to give up that quickly though."

Again? They'd tried to take her again? What the hell was with these people? Hadn't they learned their lesson? If he ever had to go back there, he was going to have to talk to that King...or more, if he had to. "Was Han-gyong your, uh...fiancee?"
He really should tell her. At least it would be one less thing for her to worry about.

Seung snorted and nodded. "Supposedly. In that he's been picked out to marry me." She leaned forward, chin on her fist when Mik's phrasing struck her as odd. "Wait...was?" She looked at him quizzically. Probably just a slip of the tounge, right?

"Well, um..." The angel looked down at his hands for a moment, and the scar on his left palm. While Seung might feel better to know that she didn't have someone planning her murder anymore, well, there was no telling what she'd think of the fact that Mik had killed him. "He's dead. I killed him."

It took a moment to sink in. At first, Seung didn't think she'd heard right. Then she blanched, the blue parts of her skin even fading to teal and her false eyes standing out sharply. The Fa'e stood up and leaned on the balcony rail, gasping air as her eyes tracked slightlessly. "That explains alot," she stammered, a hysterical chuckle escaping a moment later.

Alright, so getting that out hadn't been all that hard, but now what was he supposed to do? She didn't seem angry or anything, but she was certainly shocked. What would she think of him now? Even if it had been to keep her safe, he had killed someone - two people, actually. He still didn't know who the other one was, and wasn't going to ask. She didn't really need to know about that.
He stood carefully. "Are you alright?"

"I...I don't know." She ran a hand into her hair, dislodging a pin from her bun. She didn't care when it fell out, it's mate dropping at second later so her hair unfurled, dropping down to her knees. Her breathing was steadier now at least.
Half of her was elated; Han-gyong couldn't come after her. The rest was sickened at the thought that he was dead. And the fact that Mik was.... That shocked her the most and made her breath hitch all over again.
"I...you...you saved my life," the teen said softly, not looking at him.

It wasn't exactly a 'thank you,' not that he was expecting one. Something about what he'd done upset her - not that Han-gyong was dead, he assumed. It was that he'd killed someone, or that he'd killed someone for her. But what now? He could fight people, even kill them, but how was he supposed to deal with this? Part of Mikhail was terrified that telling her what he had would change things, that he might lose his friend in some way or another. His best friend, his only friend.
"I was looking for you, but I found him," he explained hesitantly. "That's...why I was the way I was." He was more glad than ever that he'd closed the door so that she couldn't see the bodies. Hearing about this sort of thing was one thing, but seeing it? He was sure it would have frightened her.

She let out that hysterical laugh again. "Should have guessed then." All cut up like that; Seung knew he and Sei had been fighting, she just hadn't wanted to admit the result.
And what did it matter at this point? He'd been dead for months now and it saved her life. It could have been Mik instead, and this was how she thanked him?
Thinking that, she whirled around and hugged him tight around the middle. "M 'oreeh," came a muffled sound from his chest.

There was that laugh again, and she was quiet for a moment. He was just figuring that that was probably a bad sign when she whipped around and hugged him. Hard. At the best of times, he would would have been confused at how to respond to such a gesture from anyone other than a kid (actually, he'd have been pretty lost then, too). But at this particular time? It hurt!
The angel froze up and gasped, "Notsohardplease."

Seung tensed in surprised, squeezing him harder for a second before loosening her hold. She'd completely forgotten about his ribs. Brilliant Seung, just brilliant. Hurt him while you're trying to apologize and thank him, she thought to herself.
She didn't let go and kept her face buried in his chest. "Soreeh, 'm 'oreeh," she repeated, trying not to squeeze.

Okay, that was better, even if she'd squeezed him harder for a second there. Still all kinds of awkward, but at least she wasn't squeezing anymore. He could live with it as long as she didn't squeeze. He held his own arms halfway up in the air, at a loss of what to do here. Well, not totally, since he knew full well that you were supposed to hug people back, but...
Oh, hell with it. Seung was his friend. After a bit of hesitation, in which he noticed absently that she said 'sorry' very strangely, he hugged her back. "It's alright. Don't worry about it."
