Lewis' expression brightened in response to the question. "I also have a Shield Liger... Well technically it belongs to the Republic army but I'm taking real good care of her." Lewis had never be able to find or afford a ZOID on his own but even if he did personally own a ZOID he would be using it in the exact same manner as he was with Mirage.

Looking at the two, Chase felt a bit of envy for them both. Shield ligers! Both of them! But personally, if he had a choice, he'd go for something that wasn't stuck to the land. The prospect of flight had always fancied him, so ideally some sort of fast flying ZOID would suit him. But for now, he'd take just about anything he could get.

"Oh that has to be nice! I haven't exactly gotten my own Zoid just yet unfortunately. But perhaps someday I'll manage to get one."

Thera smiled at Lewis' response. "They are quite dependable Zoids. If I ever lost my liger I would probably go for a konig wolf or a shadow fox though. No matter how hard it would be able to get either of them," Thera responded to him. She had heard that they could practically fly. Well she had actually seen a Konig wolf in action before and heard that Shadow Foxes could go just as fast. She wondered what they would look like going against each other. Then she turned to Chase "What type do you want to get?" She asked hoping it didn't sound rude or anything.

With a nod, Chase considered the two that Lewis had listed off. Both zoids were definitely less common than the shield ligers but they were very nice indeed.

"Those two are really nice zoids for sure. As for me... a Storm Sworder would actually be nice I think. It's agile and has a decent amount of firepower as well. Though, like the ones you mentioned, it's a little harder to come by," he said with a grin, "But no harm in dreaming right?"

"Thank you Sir I will try." she said with a smile then gave another Quick salute as the general left. Angelina looked around for a group to socialize with.

GRAPE SODA? Oh my gawd, yes!” Shora grinned a little to herself as she walked away from one of the self-serve tables, packed with people trying to get beverages. The smile quickly faded however as she once again found herself floating through the crowd without any true purpose – waiting in the ‘queue’ to get her rather informal drink had been good to burn about five minutes at the absolute best.

Frankly she was starting to think about leaving already, still not entirely sure why she had bothered to attend in the first place, when the unmistakable tower which was the General caught her attention, apparently attempting to escape the social event, or maybe that was her own ambition clouding her judgement? It wasn’t Nicodemous who her gaze lingered upon however, as the person he had just been talking with was now left peering about, obviously having as hard a time picking out familiar faces as she was.

“Ah, what the heck, might as well try and stay until the President arrives, if they arrive...” it was as good a shot as any other, and it wasn’t like she would stay occupied long enough on her own, so the red-head weaved her way between wondering bodies and clumps of people to come up behind who she didn’t quite know was Angelina yet.

“Was that the General you were just talking to? Not to be rude and make any assumptions or anything, but you must’ve done something pretty noteworthy to get his attention amongst all these high-ranking officials and parliament guys.” Never the one for proper introductions, Shora slipped up and let her curiosity get the better of her yet again.

Kard eyed the grape soda from across the room. He was only able to get quick glimpses of it as the mob of the crowd shifted. It had been a while since he was allowed to have any soda of any kind, and this formal would be his only opportunity for a while. So with his mind set he dared to move across the packed ball room. Soda heavily on the mind!

As he moved he accidentally bumped shoulders with an elderly woman. She seemed to be in a hurry to the bathroom to powder her nose or something. In any case he looked back to see if she was alright, but lost sight of ther and was shoved by another person into Angelina and Shora. He could hear the person who shoved growl something inappropriate under his breath before moving on in the crowd. No doubt upset he was bumped in front of a lady he was trying to court.

"Uf!" He huffed as he was temporally a human ping pong. So much for the soda... As he looked up to see if the two he had just bumped into were okay and not running to powder their noses his eyes widened. Immediately his face turned tomato red.

"S-ssorry ladies." He tried in vein not to studder. Curse his inability to converse with women. Again he mentally blamed his Dad.

"No harm at all. If you stay determined I bet you will be able to get a Storm Sworder some day... Though since they are kinda rare it may not be your first ZOID. If that happens you can keep going towards that goal though." Lewis was not worried that his new acquaintance would be without a ZOID for too long. If the army caught wind of a soldier with solid potential to excel with the right equipment they tended to find a way to push them in the right direction.

"My preference is for the more defensive types of ZOIDs. When I was still going through the tests to qualify for being issued a ZOID on a less temporary basis as the with rental units it looked like the outcome was going to be a Cannon Tortoise. Honestly I was pretty stoked about that. They are hardy little things." He found this statement mildly amusing since the smaller combat based ZOIDs were still big compared to a person. "It was a total surprise in the end when they assigned a Shield Liger as my partner."

Angelina paused seeing the other girl in front of her. She smiled "Yeah it was the General, he seemed he was in a hurry to leave the party." Angelina looked over her shoulder then back to Shora and chuckled "I Didn't do anything worth recognition I just introduced myself to him." She explained before extended her hand out to Shora "I'm Angelina Solaris It's nice yo meet you..." She paused "forgive me I don't recall hearing your name?" Angelina was suddenly shoved, the golden haired girl turned to see the young red haired boy.

"It's alright," she smiled "Besides it doesn't look like it was your fault." she said looking at the old lady that seemed to be rushing somewhere. "Would you like to join us?" she offered.

“Ah, okay. I guess that’s just me over-assuming everything as always,” Shora tried to chuckle, however it came out as more a nervous choke. As Angelina extended her hand and introduced herself, Shora shook the hand and nodded. “Nice to meet you too, Angelina! I’m Shora Stromsten, just another random person who thought to come here-BLAH!” It was at that moment that both she and Angelina were almost bowled over by a thoroughly embarrassed Kard.

“Ooohhhh.... Crumbs!” Shora scrunched her eyes a number of times before looking to the floor, dreading what she may see as the feel of grape soda dripping off her arm became apparent. “Er, okay, it’s not that bad,” somehow her soda had magically been able to avoid landing on anyone’s shoes, instead forming a suspicious purple puddle which came within mere centimetres of shoe-clad feet. As if that wasn’t confusing enough, she now found that she and her new companion had a newcomer, judging by the colour of his face.

“Oh! Ah, it’s alright. I think!” Shora was frankly lost for words at this point, babbling out whatever she could think of. At least Angelina was able to string together a sentence for her.

Kard's expression was closely compared to that of a kicked puppy. "Oh... um..." He shook a little as he withdrew a handkerchief from his suit pocket than crouched down so he could wipe up the puddle.

"T-t-th-thanks you ladies." Than it hit him. 'join them?' join them for what? Were they going to partake in some kind of- Kard almost got lost in his thought for a second as he finished cleaning up the puddle. Now he had a dirty cloth to deal with. Luckily there were butlers every where to tend to such messes... "S-sure. I'd l-" He nearly said love. Is that okay to say to a woman? "Like to."

"Yeah, that's for sure," said Chase while nodding in agreement. He was pretty certain he would get his hands on his own zoid sometime in the near future, and over all, he didn't have too much of a preference for what that first zoid might be. Just as long as it was functional that is. But he had doubts he'd be given a junk zoid unless for whatever reason the military wanted to get rid of him.

Then, grinning, he laughed lightly as Lewis explained his own preferences and the like.

"That's really nice. The shield ligers are pretty versatile from what I've seen. How long ago was it that you've recieved it?"

Bending over Angelina pulled a handkerchief of her own from her purse "Let me help." she said simply after the puddle was wiped up she folded the cloth neatly and looked at the other cadet's arm "Well it can't stay wet." she said offering her clothe to Shora. Angelina looked at the man strangely, Why was he so worried? It wasn't like she was going to do anything hurtful to him. "We where just about to start a conversation." she said trying to ease his nervousness. "We don't bite" she added with a chuckle. "I'm Angelina Solaris." she introduced herself once again but this time to the boy who hadn't heard her say her name earlier to Shora.

Not having any form of rag or cloth, Shora found herself standing awkwardly as the other two bent over to clean up her mess. In all honestly it made her feel more than just somewhat like a senseless a-hole, and not wanting to look rude, spat out the first thing she could think.

“Eehh, sorry, I don’t have anything to clean that up with....” she said it through gritted teeth as they both stood back up, narrowing one eye to show her discomfort with the level of uselessness she was displaying. When Angelina offered the handkerchief, the researcher-turned-cadet smiled sheepishly, accepting the damp cloth with a dull thankyou and got to work wiping off her arm before the soda dried and turned sticky.

Well that’s not exactly going to workl,” Shora frowned for a moment, realising that her efforts were helping more to spread the purple liquid up and down her forearm than actually wipe it off. Giving up, she then turned to see how the other cadet was handling their new acquaintance. She involuntarily raised an eyebrow, he seemed pretty jumpy, but then again, she’d be a bit jumpy too if she had been knocked into a pair of people trying to talk and simultaneously spilled grape soda everywhere. Yet despite the situation, she then noticed herself grinning and holding down a laugh at the “We don’t bite” remark.

“Yes, and I’m Shora Stromsten,” nodding at Angelina when they finished their own introduction, Shora than paused, waiting for the young man's response, however the issue of the purple soaked cloth she was holding between thumb and index finger stayed firm in her mind.

"It's okay." Kard signaled to a butler to come and take care of the grape soda stained handkerchiefs. One did come, but he was so quiet and ninja like he did without a noise or disturbance. He was even gone before Kard could thank him.

"Nice to m-meet you..." He gave a slight bow to the both. Them not biting was a releif. Oddly, Kard had meet someone who did. That was the least pleasurable experience in his life.

"My n-name is Kard Joseph Fox..." He fidgeted with his cuff-links for a moment before returning his hands to his sides. Where they would wait nervously for another cuff-link fidget. "You p-probably have already h-heard of my f-f-father." He spoke sheepishly. That was the first thing that any one asked him, about his father being Dr. Fox, when he gave his name. So instinctively he sometimes said that after an introduction. Sad enough, it was not common knowledge that Dr. Fox had a son.

These two seemed nice enough to have a conversation with. Kard wished, however, that he would be able to not blush or studder when talking. It was embarrassing and didn't help his face color much.

"s-so you are both in the army?" He only realized how obvious a question that must have been...
