 A poetry/writing contest would be interesting, but it would have to be somewhat limited, I would think, like to a certain subject matter or to a certain form (Haiku, sonnet, ballad, short story, etc.)

it would be wrong to tell us what or how to write, as long as its poetry. all of us have different styles and different imaginations. diversity is what would make it challenging and interesting.

The only thing I would probably limit is length, don't want anything submitted that is too big, and of course no stealing works done by other people.

Could you let it be at least 8 or 10 paragraphs. I like to write story poems and it would be hard to make a short story poem with a beginning, a middle and end end in only 1 or 2 paragraphs.

You have until September 1st to submit your entries for the Clan Photo Contest.
Oh and Next photo contest will be in October, and it will have a theme: "Spooky" The photos will have to have been taken by you, but you may edit them any way you like.
I might open this contest up a little, so you can use friend's and family members photos too, not just your own (for those who do not have their own cameras). You will still have to list what type of camera/camera phone was used, and approximately where the photo was taken.
Feel free to comment if you like/dislike this contest idea.

Oooh, I like spooky! Lol! I have tons of pictures of real ghosts, although theyre not really spooky, but theyre ghosts!... apparitions, shadow ghosts, streamers, ecto and tons of stupid orbs! (I HATE orbs! Lol!) I wish there was a way to add EVP! (Electronic Voice Phemomena - ghost voices!) I have tons of those too!
Our ghost hunting group was even featured on the news (WB) while we were at a cemetery hunting ghosts and at our house doing the tipping table!!!
Can you tell I love SPOOKY!!!??? Lol!

Ok, 2 photos! Both taken with a Canon A70 This is a lump slightly harder sand that didn't blow away on the shore of Lake Michigan  This one was after the Wabash river flooded, then froze on top, then receded:

I have a question. Are we voting on each persons pics as a group or what? And how many votes do we get? What Im trying to say is I like a couple of the pics, but theyre by different people. Can I vote for BOTH pics, or only one set?

Vote for the pics as a set, for the grand prize winner. And you can vote for you favorite pics individually by posting here if you like. Vote for no more than 2 individual photos, winner will receive a smaller 2nd place prize.
