"Oh, I'm not naked, I have a robe on." Lauss tugged at his sleeve, thinking perhaps Faolan hadn't seen it. "Yes, sir. Miss Lee was the one who provided us with these. Do you have better clothing I could borrow, though? This is too tight."
Lauss smiled as Rhian ran out, about to tell her how pleasant she looked before her tumble. How was it possible to be so clumsy? "Perhaps you just haven't gotten used to your legs yet..." That had to be it.

Faolan tumbled to the floor as Rhian collided with him, providing adequate cushioning to the newly changed Alter. "Ow! Hey, Rhian. Nice t'see you, too."
Chuckling a little and stepping back, pulling Lauss a little with it, Zia moved out of the way of Fao and Rhian's fall. "Lauss, come on. I'll get you something to wear." It stepped over it's owner and little sister, then headed for the bedroom.

Rhian pouted and examined her feet from her spot on the floor. "I think there's something wrong with them," she said conversationally. "This is the second time I've tripped already. . . oh, and Lauss-teacher's wrist is hurting him, I think, I don't know for sure but it seemed like it. . . and Miss Lee's mad at and, um, envious of me, but I don't get why." She was talking more to herself than Faolan, but hey, conversation was conversation, no matter who she was exactly talking to.
Meanwhile, Ellandra was trying to dig through the draws in the bedroom to find something for Lauss to wear temporarily, the poor dear doubtless wouldn't look quite right in the clothes available to him here, but at least they would be better than that yellow and purple polka-dotted robe. As she was digging around through clothes, she discovered the top hat Verdant had given her the night they'd first met. Hm. . . perhaps he wouldn't mind her passing it on to someone who would treasure it more than anyone else could?

Lauss trailed behind Ziazan into the vardo, looking around to see the home he'd lived in only a short time ago, even if it seemed like a lifetime since he'd visited. Meeting Ellandra in the bedroom, he bowed to her politely, smiling a bit to himself when realizing he'd finally been able to give his favorite greeting again. "Hello, Miss Ellandra... You wouldn't happen to know where to find clothing that would fit me, would you?"

Zia shooed Ellandra out, politely but firmly, then showed Lauss over to the dresser drawers that Fao kept his clothing. "You'll have to look through Fao's belongings and see what fits or what you like."
Faolan, meanwhile, flailed a bit under his wife's Essentic. "Lass, please. Kindly get off. I'm feelin' a slight uncomfortable wi' you sittin' on me."

Rhian scrambled off of Faolan and proceeded to inspect her feet some more. "Sorry, sorry, I guess it's different now that I'm bigger?" She asked curiously while trying to make sure the ballet-slipper clad body parts weren't defective or some such thing. Finding nothing wrong, Rhian tilted her head and looked at her "father", and blinked a little. "What do I look like? I asked Lauss-teacher but he's not very good at describing yet. I'll have to teach him that while I teach him to kiss better, I guess."
It was during that statement that Ellandra walked in, and the brunette clapped a hand over her mouth, mildly surprised and amused. "Rhian, flutterby . . . what do you mean by teaching Lauss to kiss better?" Somehow, she already knew even before the newly-grown alter opened her mouth to reply.
"Well, I kissed him like Faolan and you kiss all the time, Mama, but he doesn't know how to respond yet so I'm going to have to teach him. I don't mind, really - practicing will be fun!" All the while Rhian looked at Ellandra, the innocence in those wide blue eyes remained intact. But Ellandra facepalmed, nevertheless. Rhian was taking more after Faolan than the brunette had thought she would.

Lauss knelt by the dresser drawer and lifted the first shirt he found -- a plain t-shirt. Holding it up to his chest, it was slightly larger than his size, but surely it would do. Setting it aside, he quickly found some of Faolan's worn jeans to go along with it. Taking a quick scan before closing the drawer, he found there were little, if any clothes Lauss himself would like to wear, and he'd simply have to settle for now. A t-shirt and jeans really wouldn't look right on the essentic, but it was what was there.
Lauss fidgeted and tugged at the knot around his waist until it came loose, his robe falling to the floor and the alter bending over to pick up his clothes, not minding in the least that Zia was in the room with him. Struggling with the shirt, he managed to get both arms through their respective clothes, and his head through the hole with some additional effort. Clothing himself wasn't as easy as he'd thought it would be. Perhaps nude was the way to go. And he still had the pants to put on... Lifting it from it's place on the floor, as he stood he noticed a black object right next to it. A top hat. Why there was one of these in the Grady house, Lauss didn't care. Lifting it from its place, he set it atop his head like a prince putting on his crown. Within seconds, Lauss dashed out to the livingroom in excitement.
"Rhi, look! I found a top hat!" Lauss stood in the doorway with no pants and a shirt that only barely hid anything -- unless he lifted his arms, which he did a few times to feel the hat on his head. "Do I look good?" His grin widened, hoping Rhian would think he was even more handsome now that he was dressed as a Victorian.

"Lauss, wait!" Zia cried, but was too late as the other Alter ran from the room.
"La!" Faolan shouted, quickly getting up and shoving Rhian aside. He ignored everything Lauss was yammering and manhandled the Essentic back into the bedroom. "Lad, we need t' get some clothes on you an' fast." He shut the door to keep Lauss from running back out to the front room and picked up the pants the young Alter had discarded then thrust them at Lauss. "Put these on. Now."
Zia shifted from foot to foot, not sure what to do. Lacking parts that both Lauss and Rhian had, it felt slightly awkward now at having never picked a gender. "Lauss, if you don't like the clothes, Fao and I can ask Lee to let us take you shopping for clothes you will like better."

Rhian blinked rapidly as Lauss ran out in a top hat and a t-shirt that hid absolutel nothing as he raised his arms. Her face erupted into a blush nearly as bright as Ellandra could manage - who in fact, was turned away with her face in her hands, sighing. It wasn't that Rhian had a big deal with nudity, but . . .. this was Lauss-teacher and - and. . . . . the flutterby blinked rapidly again, then sighed, looking up at her Mama.
"Lauss-teacher needs to learn more about clothes, I think."

Lauss' smile faded as he was dragged back into the bedroom -- only after seeing Rhian's face and how she turned away. What had he done to make her do that? Was it the hat? He wasn't handsome anymore? Holed up with Faolan and Zia, Lauss sighed and, looking to the ground, sorrowfully removed the top hat and let it fall to the ground.
Having clothes thrown at him, his attention was quickly back on the jeans. Oh, right, these. As he maneuvered the pants around, he shook his head at Zia's words. "These clothes will do. I don't believe Miss Lee has money left for clothing." Pulling one leg through a pant hole, he hobbled and tried to keep his balance as he did the same with the other.

"We'll be payin' fae th' clothes," Faolan said, scooping up the hat and putting it back on Lauss' head once he had the jeans on. "Donnae see a reason not t' help out wi' dressin' you. If'n you hae something particular in mind, we can take you t'see the seamstresses here. They're pretty flash at makin' any kind a clothes a body could want."

Scrambling to her feet, Rhian hurried to the back rom and peeked in. "Lauss-teacher? Are you dressed now?" She asked hopefully, antenna flicking. As she peeked, she thought about how nice some fluffy treat sounded right about now. . . only to feel something soft and. . . well, fluffy, foring in her hand a moment later. Looking down at her hand, she squealed with delight. "Oh, yay! I can make my own fluffy treat now!"

Lauss pulled at the two flaps at the top of his pair of jeans; the zipper. "What do these do?" Honestly now, more work to put on a simple pair of pants?
Lauss blinked as Faolan placed the top hat on his head once more, reaching up to touch the brim as his smile returned. "...Even Victorian clothing?" That would be more than great. Though he couldn't imagine those being any less complicated than what he'd put on today.
Turning to face Rhian, he tilted his head, hoping she'd still find his appearance satisfactory. His eyes widened as a fluffy pink cloud formed in her hand. Though it took great restrain, Lauss had to keep his thought to himself as he imagined how chubby Rhian may end up getting with all the fluffy treats whenever she wanted. And somehow, the image just made Rhian seem even cuter...

"Aye, lad, even older clothin'. So long as they got a picture o' it, I'm sure they can make it," Faolan said, helping Lauss fasten and zip up the jeans. He looked back when Rhian came in and his eyes widened slightly at her sudden conjuring of cotton candy. "Well, if'n we ever cannae make do on th' fortune-tellin', lass, we'll get you a booth to sell cotton candy from."

Rhian giggled, playing with the fluffy treat with both of her hands now. "Well, I guess I could if you needed me to, to help. . . . but I'd rather eat it myself," she said, focusing on it with a frown, the pink fluffy stuff starting to form a loose, slightly lopsided heart. It was far from perfect in shape, but with practice, perhaps she could get better. Rhian beamed and offered the cotton candy heart to Lauss. "Here, Lauss-teacher! You may not like it like I do, but you could always try!"
