I like him, even if he betrayed the Earl, I think he's gonna help Allen out I agree with Road on that one. I dunno. Recently, in the manga Cross told Allen that he's only a host for the 14th's revival. Combining that with the fact that cross said he'd kill someone he loves and that the whole host thing would kill him.... and you've got something very wrong. I don't want Allen-kun to die!!! He's so cute and polite!

KageKitsuneB thats a good point look what happened to allen when he stabbed him self with his sword it shouldn't have hurt him, but it did maybe as he gets older it's easyer for him to take over, or since he appered wait the piano is'nt that where it started he's been using the 14th power more thats why it must be afecting him more, thats my newest theory at least I dunno about you, but Allen looks cute with that whole wavy noah hair thing that was going on when he got impaled with the level four.

I find it fascinating that the 14th used to be best friends with the Earl. I'm not sure exactly how to really feel about him, though; one the one hand, he's obviously very powerful (since he almost defeated the Earl), and he'd be invaluable to the Order (assuming that they would accept him—the enemy of my enemy is only my friend if both of us are willing to not kill one another); on the other, there's no guarantee that he would be friendly to the Order and not just fight for himself. Plus, there's the whole destroying Allen to take over his body thing. That makes me sad. (Yes, I know Allen's body would survive, but everything that makes him Allen — his charm, his shyness, his politeness, his caring, his entire personality — would be gone.)
I guess in the end I just feel that the 14th has his own goals, and until we know what they are I won't blindly support him.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the possibility that Cross and The 14th actually knew each other at one time.
Ever think that Cross knew Mana? Mana carried the 14th's memories and gave them over to Allen...or so we are led to believe, yes?
But maybe Cross and Mana knew each other...

As for the Cross knowing the 14th thing, I was under the impression that that was more or less stated. I think that at the very least he knew someone directly connected to the 14th to be able to know his plans so well. If he knew Mana, though (which is entirely possible), I'd say that he probably stopped seeing him after Allen turned up. If he'd visited Mana while Allen was around, I think Allen'd remember it — Cross isn't exactly a subtle man.

i'm not too sure about him. i cant decide if he's good or evil because 1, he's a clown (creepy). 2, he's trying to take over allen's body o.o
3, he's causing problems and mainly got cross killed crying

Yes, you have a point and I can't scratch the possibility of that off the list. For now, I guess we just have to stay vigilant and see how things play out eh?

So, after the latest chapter, I've once again revised my opinion on the 14th. I mean, if he wants to become the new Millennium Earl, he must be evil, right? Also . . . I don't really read any boards other than this one, so this may have come up somewhere else and I just missed it, but I think that the person Allen will have to kill once he becomes the 14th is the Earl. I mean, once he's the 14th, the same people won't be dear to him anymore, right? And we've already been shown that the Earl and the 14th were really close once, so we can be forgiven for assuming that there's left over affection, even if they're trying to kill each other now. The other person I think Allen might have to kill is Cross, for similar reasons, although we don't really know for sure that the 14th and Cross knew each other, let alone if they were close.
Anyway, I just thought that I'd share my thoughts on the latest chapter, because I always love exchanging crackpot theories. pirate
