"I'm far from a normal Gaian woman." That much was true. She preferred to be a normal ordinary human as much as she was able, but how often that happened was subject to debate. But she often didn't remember abilities when she did use them, and as such considered herself a completely normal human. But she waited as the woman left and the girl answered her.
"I was homeschooled myself until I was 12, so I understand the sentiment." She chuckled. "Then they tried to stick me in school, only I was too far advanced, I graduated from high school at 15, and college at 17." She looked at the girl fondly, a quietness was nothing to be ashamed of as far as Sam was concerned. "While I can't complain as to where the last 8 years have led me, I wish I would have stopped and smelled the roses more often." she waved a little hand absently, a french gesture known as the Gallic shrug.
"Don't forget to smell the roses is the best piece of advice I could ever offer someone." It wasn't really directed at Raislyn, but as a comment in general. But as Raien brought their food out, she found she did have an appetite; now why was that, she wondered?
"Thank you." she pulled apart the cheese bread, smiling at the gooey cheese as it dripped from the bread. "It smells divine." Lifting it to her lips, she sighed. If she could keep this down, it'd be the first whole thing she'd eaten and kept eaten for over two weeks.
"Bon appetite." she wished the girl, and then took a bite. Sometimes the simplest of foods could be the best. And for just that small moment, Sam lost herself in the first solid food she'd even been able to handle in several days. The smell of the garlic, the almost too hot cheese. It was as if it was ambrosia itself. And she didn't even care how silly she looked.
She chewed and swallowed it, only to have to thump her own chest since she forgot to breath correctly while trying to eat and it tried to go down the wrong pipe. But she got it straightened out and grinned sheepishly.
"Pardon, I have morning sickness and I haven't been able to even taste anything without getting sick until just now. It's like a little slice of heaven. My compliments." And strangely enough, she was not being sarcastic. She was enjoying this small bit of food more than any fancy $100 meal she'd ever had.

Rasilyn was characteristically quiet in her polite way while Sam spoke, waiting for her turn to respond. Typically she kept to herself and didn't so openly socialize with random people unless somehow directly involved with Damnatus or herself. It was nice to mingle once in a while though and not have to worry about him breathing down her neck about who she got mixed up with.
The very thought made her giggle quietly and she graced Samantha with her trait smile, sweet and innocent just like the rest of her- essentially anyway.
"I don't mind so much. It keeps me occupied." She would quite honestly prefer to occupy her mind and thoughts with reading and studies than some of the other things she would have to deal with on almost a daily basis. If stop and smell the roses meant that she should take more time to enjoy her youth and adolescence, well, that wasn't really an option. Rasilyn had willfully committed herself to this life already and tried not to complain, even if it stressed her out.
After seeing Raien emerge from the kitchen with the tray of food, Rasilyn turned back to her own plate and took a few more bites from her sandwich quite happily and kept those thoughts internal.
The hostess herself just laid the tray on an empty table and returned back to the bar to hear the rave review over the cheesebread. "Oh wow." She laughed, "I don't think anyone has ever been that excited over cheesebread before - but I can garner that not being able to keep anything down for that long would make a sandwich seem amazing."
Morning sickness.
She was pregnant, but it didn't show quite yet. Still, the notion of it warmed her and Rai beamed. She absolutely adored children, but didn't really favor the idea of going through what Sam was going through. So for now - she'd make do with doting on Rasilyn for a while.
"Anyway. I'm happy that it seems like it'll settle with you. I have no experience with that yet so I offer my--"
She was cut off by some unexplained sounds coming from upstairs. It was more than simple rustling but trying to determine what it actually might have been was hard from where she stood. Rai stopped what she was doing and cast a questioning glance at the seer who had subsequently paused in her meal.
They seemed to have similar ideas.
Or at least - ideas about where it was coming from.
"I-should probably go check that out. Give me one second. I'm sorry." She politely excused herself from the bar and hastily retreated up the steps. Rasilyn, however, simply sighed and went back to her meal. She didn't want to get involved in whatever it was.

"Maybe so, but I do adore cheesebread as well." but she chuckled, in truth, she'd been able to eat little in the past few days, but they had been working on it. Rayner would buy her ices or tea, whatever she could keep done. It was kind of amusing seeing a veteran of who can even remember how many HoH's doting on her like she was some precious fragile thing. And this was when he knew full well that she was capable of holding her own, hadn't she held a shotgun to his face and kissed him a long time ago. That memory made her smile and she nodded as Raien talked.
But as the noise was heard, Celeste gave it only a cursory interest. It really wasn't her place to show too much interest, although her curiosity was peaked.
"Yes, of course. No problem." She had no idea what was going on, but instead, chose to focus on her food. It wasn't Raien's fault, but unless it was a structured situation, Sam often found herself shy and boisterous by turns. And when she had no clue what to say or do, she simply retreated to her shell.
"I hope everything's okay." Was the only comment she made before her attention went back to her stomach and what could fill it.
