The stallion blushed again. "I, uh, yes," he finally managed to get out. He retreated a bit, uncertain what to do now.
"It's getting late," he observed, pointlessly. "I should be going, before my sister thinks to look for me and ask a thousand useless questions."
There were some things the young stallion truly didn't think he was ready for. Quidal was one of those entirely.

The mare continued to look over the lake, unaware of the blushing stallion beside her and that she was the cause. She smiled at the colors that reflected on the surface, tail flicking, quite content.
Turning to him when he spoke, Quidal frowned a bit when he said that he should be going. "Aw, do you have to? I was hoping we could do a little more running." She replied, softly digging at the dirt with her hoof. She sighed softly, "but, if you truly have to go, I guess I can't keep you... especially if your sister would worry."

"I, ah, sorry," he finished lamely. "I really want to...but if I don't go soon, she'll come looking, and if she goes looking, Mother will worry and her two-legger friend will too..." the stallion realized he was rambling and hastily shut his mouth with a click.
"I'm...really sorry about it. But I hope you had a good time?" he continued, trying to get his flaming cheeks under control.

"She?" Quidal questioned, "your mate?" She continued, giving him a curious look. Unaware it was his sister he was speaking of, she thought it was sweet that this mare was so concerned for him, that she would go out of her way to come and locate him. In fact, her tail gave a mighty swish in the thought, smiling warmly.
"No, no need to be sorry. I understand, it is getting late anyways and I should head off myself." She replied, her smile never leaving her face. "I had a great time. Thank you for running with me and showing me this lovely lake."

Calor laughed, and if there was an edge of nervousness to it, it was still a laugh. "No, my sister," he replied, amused that Quidal had managed to forget so soon that he'd mentioned having one.
"I'm...glad you had such a good time," he answered softly. Then he paused awkwardly for a moment before taking to his hooves and fleeing homeward.
Girls were...confusing.

Something suddenly hit her, that he had mentioned that this mare he was talking about was his sister and her cheeks soon brightened in embarrassment. How could she be so foolish and ask if it was a mate of his? So, when he had laughed, she 'pawed' the ground lightly, ears flattening some. "Sorry... my mistake."
When he mentioned being happy that she had fun, she nodded, smiling softly at him. She stood there for a moment until he started moving away from her. Taking a step, she called out before he could get too far. "I hope we can meet again one day."
