Tawa'di could almost feel the vibrations in the air, with how nervous the next girl seemed. There was a bit of confidence there, but it seemed the excitement had taken most of the control. He offered her a soft smile, not able to express himself as openly as normal. He closed his own eyes for a moment as he groped for her offering, finding it with the tip of his paw. Extending just a bit, he softly brushed in into the fire, the distinct scent of burning fur forcing his eyes open.

He watched the smke swirl, amazed about how it seemed to have the hints of beauty around it. Odd, but Tawa'di had learned to never assume anything.

He was greatful that it was an easy reading, though; her heart must be determined to find her home. And she had.

"Kisiri'ruia, your nerves are showing your excitement to start your life here. It is admirable to see one so young so confident in what she wants in her life. Your new life will begin in the Earth Clan, where your heart lies. Find it there, child."

Inoke watched the old lion, fascinated, as he seemed to stare into empty space for a moment or two, and then began speaking. She didn't know exactly how he seemed to know so much about her... to see inside of her.

But somehow, she felt a sense of peace upon hearing his words. Nodding in respect when Tawa'di had finished, she took a step backwards. "Thank you," she said softly - then moved away to watch the rest of the ceremony.

Tawa'di watched the approaching couple, already expecting what he knew was to come. Two mates, always in love, ready to start a life together. He offered them both a deep nod, though his eyes were elsewhere. Watching the fire carefully, he scooped up their offering of feathers and dropped them into the flame. They curled as the flame devoured them, the smoke a faint trail as it rose into the air. It was a quick reading, and odd that it had seemed to go so quickly. There was little doubt in where they went, but he was unable to delve into who they really are.

He shook his head slightly, mildly worried. He fed the flames more herbs, hoping that that was the solution needed.

"Tearh, Murasame. Your new home is here. And where 'here' is, is the Mantis Clan. Go, together, as your hearts were destined to be."

Tawa'di was no fool. He had lived too long to forget the past. Even something so small as a name. He remembered everything.

His eyes shot open, the trance lost. He stood up quickly, though his old bones screamed in protest. He wobbled a bit before lowering himself back onto the ground slowly. His eyes were glued to the females, old memories washing over his mind.

"Atadiusti. I know that name. I know that family." He looked over her body carefully, looking for any signs. He couldn't determine her exact origin immediately, but no one outside of him and Us'kali would know that name, their departure was so long ago.

"You. I felt it in my heart and soul that now was the time. My Sight has faded over the years, but never would I have thought to know the reason. And she stands before me. The old Mantis blood runs through your veins. And with that blood, you will bring it to the strength it once was, in your ancestor's time. Please, Amagada, please give me the name of your parents. You had to have inherited that name from one of them."

He felt terrible for not addressing the male, but the sheer amazement had distracted him from all else. He offered the mate to the lioness a deep bow in welcome, before returning to the lioness.

"In my own heart, without needed to read the smoke of your offering, you will accept what I offer you. I wish for you to be the new clan mother of the Mantis, the alu'nadi."

He cleared his throat, looking at all that still awaited their turn. "I am sorry for these turn of events; we will need a short break before I return to the flame. Please, go find a drink, and we will start again in an hour, when the sun starts her decent into the earth."

Tawa'di called for Skan to mind the flame as Tawa'di turned again to Amagada, intent to speak with her just a bit more.

Arun couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle at the shaman's words, a good-natured grin curling the corners of his mouth a little. Tawa'di seemed to take his ... personality... in good stride. For that he was thankful -- in a ceremony like this, it would be all too easy for him to slip up, and there goes the neighborhood, back to the roguelands. But he had seemed to be accepting, and even offered some words of insight into life in his new home. An asset. Well, he'd never been called that before. But he liked the tired old shaman -- if that's what he thought, well damn him if that wasn't what he'd try to be.

"Thanks muchly Oldt-- er... Tawa'di," he replied after a time, getting up and bowing to the shaman, offering him one last grin before he headed back towards the crowd.

He was already almost back to a nice, shady spot when he felt the attitude of the ceremony shift, and the striped male's ears perked as he heard the surprise in the older lion's voice, his head pivoting to glance back at the shaman, intrigued, although his expression was guarded. Muscles were tense under ruddy brown fur, claws ready to be extended, although at the bows, the male relaxed, his pose easily slipping back into the amiable, slightly cocky, obviously teasing one he wore so well.

Mantis... that was the pride his smoke had told Tawa'di he was to go to. Immediately the male's blood-red eyes went to the female lion he was talking about, intrigued and insanely curious. Former Mantis? He had heard that something had happened to Mantis, although he hadn't heard anything beyond that. So now she was to lead them? Well, at least she was beautiful.

His mood had turned on a dime, and now he was back to his regular, slightly goofy, wanna-be ladies-man self.

Well. To be fair, she was quite pretty. It wasn't his fault. Although it looked as if she had someone already. Pity... but he seemed like an amiable guy.

Amagada had been expecting to just be shuffled off into her appropriate clan, not to startle the tattooed lion out of his trance! Caught by surprise, she blinked owlishly at him with her bright green eyes, mouth open as she tried to formulate an answer. It was a simple question, but as unexpected and on-the-spot as it was, it took her a moment to voice the answer.

"From my father," she said finally, "Nugula Atadiusti. He and his brother, Kanuga, found a safe home in the Mteo'nyungu. My mother, Majoto, was one of the pride's msaka."

He wanted her...to be Mantis' alu'nadi? She knew the term, knew it from her father. Ama was not an ambitious lioness by any means, but she wasn't one to turn from responsibility, either. Especially not faced with a request such as this. The memory of her father weighed heavy on her, and she nodded her assent. "I would be honored."

Amagada may have been surprised, but Kiger was even more so! She at least had some semblance of an idea of what was being asked of her, of what was going on in general, but...the dun lion was lost. He trusted her, however, and after returning the old lion's bow, stepped back to allow them to speak.

His mate had suddenly become the center of attention, it seemed.

Having moved to one side with her mate, the soft tan coloured lioness day dramed about her new tribe, the bird clan, what a place to be. She smiled wantonly only coming up from her day dream when she heard the ruckus. Listening to the words of the wise old lion she smiled, a new beginning it seemed, for old blood.

This was a beautiful festival, nestling up to Kimba, Lyra sighed gently and groomed her mates cheek before she stood to get a drink of water. She hoped quietly that her blind daughter would be okay on her own and that Rubani and Chuma would decide on their places, she would return soon enough to continue to watch the goings on of the tree ceremony, after all it was a time of new starts for everyone here and joining in the celebration and joys of those finding their homes only lightened the lionesses heart further.

Sinuhe rejoiced inside seeing his sister Jibanza take her turn came and saw her join the Earth Clan. It’d been a pleasant surprise to see her amongst this merry gathering, for he’d set off independently from his family what felt like an age ago, to travel the savannahs and hadn’t seen her since…oh and half-brother Ahadi was here too, who he knew by sight and by name alone, destined for the Wolf Clan. The young adult waited calmly for his turn, watching the ceremony and socializing with the lions about him, joy rather than nervousness making his tail tip twitch.

He’d followed an apparition of a ghostly white antelope, leaping high and running fast, to the Ela’wadiyi lands. It had been a joyful hunt for the young lion and one of his rare seer visions. Sinuhe wasn’t a fool. He could take it when the spirits of nature (which you kind of had to believe in when your mother had wings) were giving him a hint. They’d led him right to this pride at this auspicious time. They meant for him to join in. Why else would the pale antelope have vanished upon their border?

“I’m the hunter Sinuhe. I followed the signs here…I hope to call these lands home and the lions here friend.” He smiled warmly at the elder Tawa’di and gave his offering, a simple lock of hair torn from his mane, thanking him quietly as it was accepted. Time to find out which clan he himself was destined to join.

Hanaa shivered as she stared wide-eyed around at all the other lions and the festive atmosphere, the smoke that hung over the gather tickling her sensitive nose.

"For P-Pacha... for myself." She gasped out softly before she stepped forward, hesitating before continuing forward. She measured her steps carefully to be sure there were five of them, the number of her torment and salvation, even though she stumbled a little trying to fit their lengths into the walk.

"I wish to... find a place." She said softly as she lowered her head and her ears, looking up at the lion that held sway over this important ceremony. "My name is Hanaa." With a surprisingly smooth motion, she reached back to n** a few hairs from her tail, the small curl of tan and blue dropped reverently into the fire. She ached to rip free more to balance the number, but for once, she resisted the compulsion.

"I am ready to find my home."

The old rogue had stood in silence, watching, his ears twitching with each spoken word. The shaman was old, older than him, seeming to possess the wisdom that came with such age, or maybe he had had it all along. Perhaps he had been a teacher, perhaps he still was, unlike Amrun who had long since given up.

The rogue had wandered for so long, alone, refusing to trust another, it seemed odd that he should be standing here now, waiting to join a pride with so many others. Maybe he had simply grown tired, he wished for companionship again, to find a new purpose. Would he find what he sought here?

Silently he stepped forward, his offering a broken talon from his right paw.

"I am Amrun, I wish for a home to lend my strength."

His head bowed, a gesture of respect to the old lion.

Tawa'di took a deep breathe, allowing his mind to relax. The pull of the trance wasn't as violent this time. The heavy scent of the herbs had coaxed him into it, the scent seeping into his own fur, for he had been surrounded by it for so long. Feeling his eyes droop, he fed the small flames a bit more herbs before preparing for the next lion to approach him.

And it hadn't taken too long. Good. It seemed like the nervous feeling was beginning to fade, and more seemed excited to find out their new homes. Tawa'di was greatful.

"Sinuhe," he repeated with a nod. He drew up the hair into the fire, watching it curl as it released it's reading in the form of smoke. There were hints of things that reminded him of Mana; this was a different child than some he had already seen.

"Your home is within the Mantis Clan. Go, strong hunter, to your new home. Your skills will be appreciated."

Her paws were fidgeting like crazy, standing there and watching all the other lions as she moved smoothly across the grass, following the shapes of her parents.
The grass tickled her underbelly and she let out a soft, snorting giggle as she waded through the grass happily. Her zebra fur trophy stil hanging around her neck and gently bumping her chest.

This place made her grin, huge mountains, endless sky, grasslands, this place was great and as she drew closer her eyes beheld Tawai'di.
Wow...this guy was huge.

She blinked and tentatively drew closer, ears pulled back in slight submission as she lowered her head and watched him. Her blue eyes growing slightly wide as she moved closer to the flame he sat infront of.

Cool...

"My name is Chuma...I've followed my parents loyally and am ready to find my home..."

Laazizi was bristling with excitement. She could feel the nervousness of some, and the anticipation of others and she couldn't help but smile. She herself was feeling the best she had...ever. She finally felt, in her heart, that she had found her home. She didn't feel the need to wander anymore, instead she felt the need to put down roots. This could also be for the little bodies she felt growing in her belly, but she wasn't sure. The lioness smirked slightly when she had thought of the one night she had spent with the other male, she hadn't expected it to end with cubs. Shaking her head slightly she came back to the festival, watching as others were sorted. She wondered where she would end up, Might as well find out, The black lioness smiled to herself and when the area in front of Tawai'di was clear she stepped forwards.

It was when she was standing alone in front of the older male that nervousness struck. She paused a moment coming up with the words she needed, "I am Laazizi, I wish to make this pride my home, and would like to know where I belong." Smiling she took a tuft of hair from her tail fluff and pushed it in front of the male, eyes glittering with excitement as she watched him decide her fate.
