pushing a hand through his hair he studied the woods, his jaw ticking as he considered his options. turning slightly he caught sight of Zai, his expression relaxing to weary amusement. there had been a time, when he was young and egypt was settled, that he had studied that stone with the same admiration. without meaning to he explained. " it is called Aneku by my people, or 'heart of anubis'. it brings luck and strength." turning away he added over his shoulder, his tone delibrately amused to hide his shock. he hadnt intended to mention the gem's origins. " you know where to find me, if your wolf wants more.. or your simply bord, look me up Zai." with that he left, his steps quiet and swift as he headed for the mainlands.

landing quietly on the remains of a stone wall, he knelt and laid the girl down carfuly. then, staying in his shifted form, perched near her and folded his wings.. waiting. he wanted this girl.. that vampire.. it was an old one, and it was causeing the coven to react as they did. the best he could do was to cut the head off the snake.. and keep this poor child away from it.

Green eyes darkened dangerusly, turning to study the boy with clear disintrest. sliding from the wall he spread his wings, the movement more from irritation than any plan to take off. his tone, when he asked, was cold.. soft but deadly. " so.. you are one of his, then.." he simply spread his talons, flexing his wings for a moment. Hawk never commented on the boys use of 'kid'.. saw no point in it. he was older than the boy, that alone should warn him to stay away. looking thoughtful he studied him. " Vail calls on others to do his bidding now.."

Hawk paused, clearly unexpecting that answer. his eyes narrowed and he relaxed slightly, tilting his head in a bird like manner as he asked. " Why?"

" the vampire was after her." he said simply.

his eyebrow twitched, but he simply turned away and lept back onto the wall.. crouching once again as his wings folded close to his body. " take it. he will think i have it, and ive no wish to care for a sun demon." it wasnt in his nature to care, nor did he worry about the girl. he was in all ways a predator.. and he did not answer to others besides Banshi. his green eyes slid closed, though he held acute attention to where the boy was.. wild he may be, but he was in no mood to deal with a gun shot right now.

he didnt stir, but an odd clicking sound escaped him.. sounding shockingly like a frustriated bird. cracking one eye open he pinned the boy with his gaze, tone cold as he growled. " i did not avoid your question, i ignored it." still his feathers ruffled, and he sighed. he wouldnt be getting rid of the boy until he gave a decent answer.. shame he couldnt just kill him, but he could only do that to vampires... " what if a creature that cannot stand sunlight was suddenly offered a chance to do so again? if all it took was to enslave a demon of the sun and drink its blood every two weeks.. and the creature could walk as any other in the light? a sun demon is rare, and considering this ones mother is a unleashed power.. it will not be long before Vail finds them both."

leaning forward he pressed his talon against the girls neck, his tone softening slightly though he didnt seem to realize it. " this one is innocent, it was impulse to save her. that is all."

"It would seem as that." Seth said as Miri awoke. "Anything else you want to mention tweety?"
