Rivener was busily looking at the approaching doctor (or who he thought was a doctor) so he failed to notice the sudden lurching of the Fat Man. What Rivener DID notice was the sudden wet splat of something extremely disgusting and smelly hitting him in the side and stomach.

"AAGH!" Riv cried out, raising both arms out of the way in horror and backing up swiftly. The crowd backed up to stay away from him, everyone staring in shock as the Scorpion blinked down at himself with wide red eyes. There was complete silence for a second before Rivener snapped both eyes up to the fat man again, rubies flashing with pure murderous intent. "Why you ******** slop bucket of a meat-sack! I'll ******** KILL you!!!" Wings rustling in rage, Rivener launched himself forward, cocking an arm back to punch him across the face.

Thankfully the doctor had made his way there by then, and a good handful of staff people hurtled themselves at Rivener to keep the furious Scorpion from mauling the already-helpless fat man. Riv flailed and snapped his wings open, easily throwing more than a few people off him but eventually giving up the fight. He didn't want to be arrested, he didn't want to be arrested, he didn't want to be arrested... The words became his mantra, and while it didn't do much in the way of calming him, it at least curbed his temper.

Gritting his teeth, Rivener shrugged off the last of the staff members and turned a glare towards Xiu. "I'm going to the washroom to get cleaned off!" he announced with clear anger, floating through the crowd that easily parted to grant him passage. The white frei could come with if he wanted, but Riv wasn't going to twist his arm. The least people had to witness him cleaning off this horrendously disgusting, embarrassing mess, the better.

Xiu cringed slightly as the Sigel stared angrily at him. Floating to a standing height, Xiu gave a glance towards the troublesome human. He seemed to be alright, having had some medicine or the other administered to him and was now resting with a couple of first-aiders by his side. His eyes however, were fixed at the white frei in a manner that troubled Xiu. Backing off as calmly as he could through the crowd of onlookers, Xiu floated after the Scorpion Sigel. He wondered if there was a way he could appease the proud raevan’s wrath.

Upon reaching a nearby rest room, Xiu floated in after the Sigel. Thankfully there was no one around. Grabbing a couple of paper towels and wetting them, Xiu approached the Sigel.

“Here,” said Xiu offering the wetted towels; unsure if he should be the one wiping the stain off or letting the Sigel handle it. The ventilation in the bathroom was really bad and the vomit was starting to smell horrible. The frei found himself flaring and folding his wings restlessly.

“If you’d like…,” said Xiu quietly. “I could get you a shirt from one of the booths while you umm…clean up….,”

---------------------------------

The fat man breathed a sigh of relief. His shortness of breath was gone and now that he could sit up properly, the first aid staff had left after telling him to take it easy. Nevertheless, the man could not take it eay.

“A real non-human,” the man muttered, eyes staring blankly into space. “Here, amongst us,”

A couple of people gave a glance in his direction and hurried off. They did not want to be near an obese cross dresser who muttered strangely.

“Imagine…that,” said the man heaving his massive body up. Glazed eyes only hinted at the instability of the mind within. “Must look into this, oh yes, must certainly…,”

And with that, the huge being lumbered off in search of the ‘raevans’ …

Rivener's stomach was turning with every moment that passed. As soon as he made his way into the washrooms he headed straight for the sink, refusing to look at himself in the mirror and see this... this... urgh! Clawed hands ripped out a large wad of paper towels from the dispenser and used it to wipe off most of the slop from his body and vest, throwing it into a garbage can and half-gagging at the smell. "No ******** air in this place," Riv mumbled.

Xiu's presence was only noticed once the frei offered those wet towels. Rivener snatched them away angrily and shrugged out of his clothes, placing them on the side of a sink and turning on the tap, running the soiled part under. The wet towels were used to wipe compulsively at his skin, horrified that it had been marred by that... that STUFF! Rivener wanted a god-damned shower! He growled and bared his fangs, his anger growing by the minute. Holy hell, if that fat sack of lard came near him again Riv would-...

"Yeah, a shirt would be nice," the Sigel agreed reluctantly, flicking his gaze up at Xiu accusingly for an instant before turning back down to the task at hand. Riv knew this wasn't Xiu's fault really, but he needed someone to lash out at and unfortunately, Xiu was the only one present. At least Rivener did his best to keep his temper in check, only offering angry glares... "Hurry, alright? I don't want people finding me in here shirtless."

When Xiu left, Riv wiped his skin dry and wettened it again, using the hand-soap dispenser to lather up another handful of paper towels and begin scrubbing at himself obsessively. He then rinsed off his skin with more paper towels and dried himself. Satisfied that his body was cleansed enough finally, the Scorpion turned his attention to scrubbing soap into his clothes.

Xiu nodded. “I shall return as soon as possible,” the white frei said with a slight nod of his head. Turning, Xiu floated out of the bathroom and made his way towards one of the many stalls that dotted the convention center. There were many types of apparel on display; most of them cosplay items but there were a few stands that had sensible clothes for sale. Floating to one of these, Xiu began going through the various shirts for sale, looking for one that would not only fit Rivener but pleased the Sigel as well.

After much rummaging, Xiu had finally settled for one and had paid for it when the footfalls of a heavy human were heard. Turning around with the purchased clothes in hand, Xiu was surprised to see that it was none other than the ‘Fat Man’ as Rivener had called him.

“Oh, ummm…hi…,” said Xiu uncertainly as he noticed the wobbling gait of the other. “I trust…you are feeling better?”

---------------------
The Fat Man stood and listened as the white raevan enquired about his health, not really paying attention to what was being said. Instead, watery eyes stared in an almost predatory glare at the being before him. It had taken him the better part of 20 minutes to locate the raevan and now that he had, he was going to make sure that that 20 minutes of fanatic searching would be worth his while.

The Fat Man reached forward.

--------------------

There was something decidedly strange about the way the other had been eyeing him and alarm bells were starting to sound in Xiu’s head. Slowly backing away lest sudden movements would trigger a reaction of some sort, Xiu suddenly saw with horror that there was a darkish sort of aura beginning to form around the human as he approached the frei. This man…he was planning on doing something bad! He had to get away!

Snapping his wings wide open, the frei made a dash but then the sudden emergence of a crowd of humans made the frei hesitate for a moment too long…

--------------

The being was wary of him. Already the Fat Man could see that the Raevan was backing away from him. No, he must not lose them. He must not!

There was a sudden blur as the raevan made a dash past him; wings spread out and hair streaming behind…

“Nooo!” shouted the Fat Man as the raevan flew past. Making frantic a half jump half fall grab at the raevan, the Fat Man would surely have missed the frei had the group of humans not hindered the frei’s path.
But now it would seem that luck was finally on his side. Meaty hands wrapped around the frei’s slender frame as the body mass of the Fat Man came into contact with the frei only seconds after, stunning the Raevan in the process.

Grinning stupidly at his sudden burst of luck, the Fat Man secured his hold on the raevan by wrapping a gigantic ham of an arm around the frei’s chest while the other held onto the frei’s horn. They were real alright and he was not going to risk having one of them jabbed into him.

“Let go of me!” shouted Xiu as he felt himself pressed against the sweaty body of his captor and his head being jerked into an uncomfortable position when the other had grabbed his horns. “What’s wrong with you?!”

“Raevan, raevan…,” said the man in a sort of childish sing song voice. “ Hee hee heee….,”

Truly alarmed by this, Xiu struggled even harder to free himself but not succeeding in the least as the other seemed to possess a certain inner strength that came with his massive bulk. “Help me!” Xiu shouted as a crowd of people came to watch. “Get Riv—mmft!”

“Naughty, naughty,” giggled the Fat Man as a meaty hand clamped over the raevan’s mouth, muffling its cry. Then, looking up at the curious crowd of onlookers, the Fat Man grinned and in a surprisingly sane voice said “Move on, move on. We are just rehearsing for the cosplay event later on. You’d get to see that later,”

“Mmmft!” said Xiu shaking his head but even this was soon restricted as he was pressed ever closer against the human’s massive bulk. A couple of onlookers laughed and pointed and took snapshots of this, never realizing that this was not a play.

The Fat Man smiled and, for camera’s sake, looked devious as he held the raevan in place. Never in his life had he received so much attention and some of the onlookers were even…applauding! Bowing this way and that as he left the crowd, the Fat Man soon found himself in a quiet enough location just behind the room where the props were kept.

Grinning madly, the Fat Man slammed the frei against the brick wall and with a motion that was surprisingly agile for his massive bulk, pinned the frei there by pressing his hand against the raevan’s mouth. Now the raevan was not only securely caught but silenced as well. Terrified blue eyes stared back as him as the frei tried to pry the meaty hands off.

“I can’t believe this…,” muttered the Fat Man. “I just…can’t,”

“I-I mean…look! Real wings!” babbled the Fat Man feverishly as he fingered the Raevan’s stone gray wings with his free hand. “And horns!”

The hand moved over to feel the white frei’s dark horns.

“All of them real!”

The horns were painfully jerked.

“And people called me a loser! Hah! What do they know?!? Looks like I would be the person with the last laugh after all! They do exist! These…creatures,” said the Fat Man fixing Xiu with an almost hungry look. The frei cringed at this but was held in place by the massive hand.

Leaning forward so that they were almost nose to nose, the Fat Man stared at Xiu before whispering breathlessly “Make a pact with me,”

Xiu stared with surprised as the words registered in. Make a pact? With him? Even if he could do it, there was NO. WAY he’d do it with someone like this.

“Mmmft.” Said Xiu angrily with certain muffled finality about his voice followed the faintest trace of head shaking.

“Why not?” the Fat Man asked feeling as though something within him had been popped. What right had this … creature had to refuse him? Weren’t creatures like this more than happy to make a pact with humans? Why was he refused then? Sunken eyes stared at the Raevan pinned to the wall, taking in its rather graceful form. Was it then because…he was ugly?

“Well, IT’S NOT MY DAMN FAULT!!!” bellowed the Fat Man in a surge of rage. “ NOT EVERYONE WAS BORN LOOKING LIKE THOSE PRETTY BOYS IN MANGAS ALRIGHT?!?!”

“Haaa…Haaa…Haaaaaa….,”

Damnit. He was panting. That burst of anger had made his breathing hard again. Glancing at the frei who was now looking at him in an almost pitying manner, the Fat Man stood a little straighter in an attempt to gain the upper hand. “Listen…either you…make a pact with me or…I will make you….,” panted the Fat Man as he stared at the pinned raevan. “Make your…choice,”

Once again the Raevan shook its head and once again the Fat Man felt defeated. Why? WHY WAS IT NOT ACTING THE WAY IT SHOULD?!?

“Very well…,” said the Fat Man as pressed his hand harder against the raevan’s mouth causing it to wince in pain. “There must be…something that can be used to form a pact…,”

The glowing rune caught his eyes. “What if…I took that away from you?” the Fat Man wheezed as he reached out a big ham hand towards the glowing rune. The increase in struggling only served to confirm the Fat Man’s suspicion. Grinning manically the Fat Man reached forward…

Rivener had cleaned his shirt about as much as he could. It smelled of soap now, instead of rancid stomach contents. He would still feel better if he got home and put it through a proper laundry washing, but for now it would do. ...Now where was Xiu with that damned shirt he promised? Riv didn't want to have to put on a wet vest! Apparently he'd have no choice, as footsteps were heard coming closer. People would show up in two seconds, and Riv did not want to be mostly undressed in front of these weirdos.

With a groan of disgust Rivener slipped on his vest again, the wet side's lower hem hanging limp instead of floating around his rune with the ribbon. The Scorpion ignored the two men that walked into the washroom even though they gave him a friendly "hello". Where the hell was Xiu? Riv floated off in search of his friend.

----------------------

Rivener's investigation had yeilded a very unbelievable story. A cosplay event? The Fat Man grabbing Xiu? People were excited to see the play Riv and Xiu would take part in? The Sigel had snapped angrily at everyone who'd spoken to him about this, calling them stupid gullible assholes who probably let something horrible happen to Xiu. By the time Rivener spotted Fat Man and Xiu, the former pinning the latter against a wall with a meaty hand, Fat Man's hand had begun reaching for Xiu's rune.

Glaring daggers, Rivener approached hurriedly and stopped just out of reach, mindful of attacking the Man and somehow getting Xiu wounded in the process. Riv would have to wait until a proper opportunity. Thankfully, this place was very much hidden from view, and there would be no bothersome witnesses when the Scorpion finally made this gargantuan freak PAY for everything he'd done.

"What do you think you're doing, sicko? Let my friend go. NOW." Riv flared his wings open threateningly, fists clenched at his sides shaking with rage. Ruby eyes flashed with anger, and the Sigel's rune flickered as Rivener summoned up the most lethal poison he could come up with.

"What do you think you're doing, sicko? Let my friend go. NOW."

At those words, the Fat Man paled horribly; even before he had turned around to face the glowering Sigel. The other had sounded…terrifyingly furious!

“I-I was just playing…y’know…,” the man stammered, not turning around to face the furious Raevan (he feared his bladder would give if he did). “Didn’t mean no harm…,”

However the large ham of a hand was still kept securely over Xiu’s mouth and the sight of the helpless frei seemed to give the Fat Man some newfound courage. If he could take on one, what was keeping him from taking on two, right?

“Non-humans should listen to their masters….,” whispered the Fat Man retreating once again into his inner self; never once taking his eyes of the frei. “This one…,” here the man paused and with his free hand began stroking Xiu’s hair; much to the frei’s silent disapproval. “…did not want to form a pact,”

-------------

Xiu could not believe that this was happening to him. Being humiliated did not even begin to describe what he was feeling right now. Blinking back tears of rage the white frei fought hard to free himself from the human but the meaty arm simply would not give.

Xiu did not know what would happen if a human were to touch his rune but…instinctively knew that that was wrong. The arrival of Rivener was not a second too late as the Sigel had evidently succeeded in stalling the Fat Man from what would have been nothing less than a violation of the highest degree.

Flaring his wings wide (despite being pinned to the wall), Xiu grasped the man’s meaty arm in both of his and tried desperately to free himself.

The tone of fear in the first few sentences the Fat Man uttered was suitably satisfying, and Riv smirked. Fat Man should be afraid! Rivener had never before felt so damned livid! Seeing a Raevan manhandled like that by a mere human was fueling Rivener's already-fiery temper. Now if only those beady human eyes could turn and look upon the Scorpion's fury before Riv struck, that would be so wonderfully fulfilling!

But no, instead the Fat Man's tone lost its edge of terror and the big sausage fingers lifted to caress at Xiu's hair, the human's words shocking Rivener so much that his mouth fell open in outrage.

"Non-humans should listen to their masters?!" The furious Sigel repeated in a low hiss, his voice dripping with raw murderous intent. Growling, ruby eyes narrowed to slits of angry red fire, fangs bared, Rivener lunged forward and wrapped his clawed hands in the Fat Man's collar, yanking him forcibly away from Xiu and lifting him up off the ground, finding strength in his rage. "I'll SHOW you how DANGEROUS we non-humans can be! You can't make pacts with DEMONS LIKE US!" Furiously the Sigel shook the helpless man in mid-air as he all but screamed the last words, his stinger-tipped wings snapping wide the instant before he sunk both sharp needle-like tips into the man's shoulders, injecting him with the deadly venom.

...flashes of the last time Rivener had done this threatened to make Riv gasp, but he banished them from his mind. This man was not Isikoro; he DESERVED this! He'd been trying to harm Xiu!
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:03 am

“ARRRGHAAAIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!” squealed the Fat Man as he was lifted bodily off the ground and for an instant, looked totally ridiculous as his four meaty limbs flailed in the air. Then came the shaking and the Fat Man felt as though all the teeth within his jaw was about to come loose. “Mercy!Mercy! Ohgawd! Mercy!” screamed the human as the Sigel bore down upon him, wings outstretched and quivering. Why was this DEMON so much stronger that the other? Weren’t they the same?

It was then that the man felt something jabbing into the fleshy folds of his shoulders. Wide eyes stared with horror as the Fat Man realized that the other had stabbed him with its stinger-like wings. Moments later, the Fat Man collapsed, gasping as the paralyzing effect of the poison took its toll. “H-Help meee….,” gasped the Fat Man as his lips turned a rather horrible shade of blue. Pasty fingers reached out towards the shaken Xiu as though begging for mercy…

---------------------

The suddenly removal of the Fat Man’s hand made Xiu gasp before the frei sunk to the floor, coughing and taking in mouthfuls of fresh air at the same time. The Fat Man was screaming loud enough to wake the dead but to the frei’s hazy mind, the scream seemed so…far away.

Then there was the heavy thud…

Blue eyes shifted from the floor before them to the being lying beside him. Instinctively Xiu drew back, afraid that the man would attack him once again but that was not so… the human before him was in no position to move let alone attack. The sudden jerky movements of the fingers as the paralyzing poison took its toll scared the frei and Xiu turned away, feeling sick.

“H-Help meee….,”

“No,” said Xiu covering both his ears and looking away; feeling faint as a sudden wave of exhaustion washed over him. Clutching his shoulders, Xiu shook his head and tried to drown out the pleas of the human. This man deserved it screamed one part of Xiu while the other insisted that the frei help him. Shivering, Xiu lay huddled on the floor as the two emotions raged within him, threatening to tear the frei apart.

Rivener dropped the Fat Man once his stingers had pumped all the poison they could into those fleshy shoulders. Riv remained where he was, looming threateningly over the hulking brute dressed in such ridiculous clothes, staring down his nose with clear hatred and disdain. "Hn!" Riv scoffed at the pathetic plea for help. "Burn in hell."

The screaming must have attracted people's attention, a part of Rivener's brain warned him. It was about time the two Raevans left this place. "Xiu, come on," the Sigel said, reaching down to hook a hand under one of the white frei's arms, pulling him upright. "Come on, he deserved it. He was going to attack you, he was going to touch your rune. Now let's go before someone finds us." Rivener only now began thinking of what the consequences might be for his actions. He had just killed someone. The Fat Man was twitching and taking his last breaths, the fatal toxin making its way to his heart quickly, stopping it. It would then eat away at all the organs it had made its poisonous path through, leaving the man's insides rotten. Strangely enough, Rivener didn't feel an ounce of guilt about it, not like he had with Isi. This man had DESERVED it. Riv only worried that the cops wouldn't see it his way.

Folding his wings back against himself, Rivener pulled and tugged Xiu along until they neared the more populated areas of the convention center. Here he paused, turning to the white frei and trying to make him straighten, smoothing his clothes and propping Xiu's head up with fingers under his chin, frowning somberly. "We have to leave. Xiu. Are you alright to move? ...We're going home, alright?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:53 am

Xiu allowed himself to be lifted off the floor and led by the other as they left the jerking body of the human behind. When they had reached a relatively crowded part of the convention center, Rivener had turned and tried to straighten out the frei’s clothes; telling the frei that they had to leave.

“What about the …human?” Xiu asked softly, blue eyes countering the Sigel’s red. The frei’s mouth hurt where the Fat Man had gripped and although gentle, the Sigel’s hand was hurting him. “He…Rivener… A doctor,” said Xiu weakly.

Riv's frown darkened at Xiu's words when those blue eyes lifted to meet his red. How could Xiu still be so concerned for a man who'd nearly-...

"...A doctor won't do him any good. He's dead. Now come on, we have to go." The ruby robs had lowered as he spoke, fixating on his clawed fingers as he straightened the last of Xiu's clothing, unable to look directly at the other as he said this. Once he was satisfied that the white frei didn't look so disheveled anymore, Riv gripped Xiu's wrist gently and pulled him forward again, leading the way through the throng of people and heading for the exit as quick as possible. His glower kept the other convention-goers at bay, thankfully. Riv was in no mood to deal with more of these pushy, demanding humans.

Was Xiu going to hate him for what he'd done? Even though Rivener had done it to save the frei, to protect him? ...Well, that was only partly true. Rivener's bruised pride had also selfishly pushed him to that limit, but seeing Xiu manhandled like that was what made Rivener choose THAT toxin. Riv had thought other Raevans would feel the same as he did, but Xiu had sounded so concerned for that fat monster that had nearly abused him...

He can hate me if he wants, the Sigel thought with a pang of pain. I'd do it again if I have to. His lips settled in a determined line and he made his way towards the double-doors with single minded intent.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:26 am

“No,” said Xiu softly, not wanting to believe what he had just heard. “Rivener, he was still…moving…If we could get him a medic-,” Xiu’s sentence was cut short as the Frei was pulled forward, in the direction of the convention’s exit. It was useless to resist, that much the frei knew as he was being led by the Sigel with a sort of single-minded determination. The Sigel was unusually quiet. Perhaps he too was suffering more than he let on. Xiu lowered his head. It was…because of him that Rivener had acted out the way he did. Rivener was simply…trying to protect him; trying to protect what was weaker.

Xiu clenched his teeth as the full realization of what had happened came to him. Someone was dead because he was too weak to do anything about it. Rivener was going to get into trouble if he was ever caught. The Fat Man’s family had lost a son…

Feeling a sudden tightening of his chest, it was all Xiu could do to stop himself from crying in frustration. “I hate being this weak!” screamed Xiu. “I hate not being able to do anything!”

But all that came out of the frei’s bruised lips were a hoarse whisper; barely audible except to the one closest to him.

If Rivener heard Xiu's quiet words, he didn't make any show of it. He simply continued pulling until they were both through those double doors, out of the convention parking lot and alone in a bus-stop shelter. Soon a bus would come that could take them back to Xiu's neighborhood, and Rivener would see to it the white frei made it all the way home unharmed.

Only now, when they were alone, did Rivener turn to face the white frei. He was still frowning, but the faint up-turn of the brows near the center conveyed more concern than anger. "Xiu, look at me." He waited until the blue eyes lifted up to him, Riv placing both hands on Xiu's shoulders softly. "Nothing that happened was your fault. No one could have done anything in that situation. I'm just glad I found you before something REALLY bad happened. That man was dangerous, and if I hadn't done what I did... if we'd just let him go, who knows which of our kin he could have found next? What if he got his hands on my brother Eiry? On Vyn? On ANY of our Raevan friends?" Rivener glowered in remembered rage, his wings rustling at the thought of what that man could have done to Lulu or Sevilin or any of the more delicate frei.

Shaking his head free of those thoughts, telling himself that everything would be alright now that the threat was dead, Riv glanced back up. "Don't hate me for what I did, Xiu. I protected you. I protected all of us! He was dangerous! It was ME who did it, none of it is your fault. Understand me?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:06 pm

Raevan friends….Yes, Rivener was right…if that human had survived… No, no! That was not it at all! This was not about humans and raevans, this was about taking away another’s life!

Blue eyes would have turned away from the red if the Sigel had not placed his hands onto the Frei’s shoulder; not forcing but compelling the frei to keep up with the Sigel’s explanation. It hurt. The conflicting thoughts that were within the Frei’s mind were just…too much. On one hand, Rivener’s reasoning had made sense, not typical sense but a sort of vigilante sense. The human had done wrong. He had tried to, to…

He had tried to take away the very soul and essence of a Raevan.

And for that he was killed.

But on the other hand…things could have…turned out differently, couldn’t they? What if they had…simply handed him over to the authorities? He would be locked away right? Never allowed to leave. The raevans would then be safe as well, wouldn’t they?

But there was a flaw in that. How severely do you punish a human who had intended to harm a non-human? Would they even know the gravity of one who had tried to taint the very source of another’s life? Xiu doubted this and yet…to watch someone killed…dying…

“No, Rivener,” said Xiu softly as his gaze was held by the other. What was going through the Sigel’s mind?

“How can I…hate someone who had just…saved my life? I-I just…need some time to…think this over” said Xiu, ending the last sentence with a voice that was barely above a whisper. “I-I need to know what needs and needs not be told…should questions be asked,”

And questions were definitely going to be asked and answers expected. The force of the human’s grip on the white frei was beginning to show. It would take an ignorant fool to not have notice that and Hazeline, despite her somewhat passive outlook was no fool. Behind that (more often than not) stressed out face were eyes of someone that took in more details than Xiu cared to know. Hazeline might look flustered but the guardian was definitely attuned to the slightest deviation from normal behaviour.

Riv wasn't sure what "No, Rivener" meant, exactly. Did Xiu not understand? Did he not want to face any of what happened? Did he hate the Sigel now, think him a monster? ...No, in the following instant Xiu assured him that he would not hate someone for saving his life. Then what was the problem? ...The frei must be rattled from the experience. It just didn't compute in Rivener's mind that someone might be shaken by seeing someone die.

"...Alright. I'll take you home." The Scorpion let go of the other's shoulders, taking out his cellphone and calling a taxi, too impatient to wait for a bus after all. During his call, Xiu's quiet question was almost missed but Riv picked it up. He waited until he hung up to answer.

"...Cab's coming right away, should be here in ten, fifteen minutes. ...As for questions, Xiu, just tell people the truth, but not ALL the truth. Tell them he hurt you, grabbed you, tried to touch you, and I stopped him. ...Although, we should probably omit the part about the poisoning. It's best if people think I just grabbed his collar and got him off you. Okay?" Riv frowned, not liking how he felt like this was needed. He saw no wrong in what he did, and he'd admit to everything shamelessly... Human police would probably not agree.

"...Are you going to be okay, Xiu?"
