"How classy." Tristai seemed unfazed by the entire proceedings, stopping just because she'd been walking that particular alleyway. She had had some... business to attend to, but her endeavor of the morning had been a waste of her time. A body in the street was interesting, but really not of that much interest to her- unless she was paid to be interested, of course.
She was abruptly shoved against the wall as one of the watch members, some new recruit or something or other, ran through the crowd in order to get rid of his breakfast. She glared, as best as she managed while only showing one eye- although today it seemed that it wasn't just her hair that was covering up her left eye... two small strings reached across her face from underneath the fall of pink hair, if one looked close enough. It explained why the woman had just been blindsided by a gutless teenager.

"Sorry t' say, Lady Isadora..." Leon's tone and facial features remained grim and serious, far different than his normal confidence he always had about him. "Ya, th' moment we be chasin 'im, that be th' moment we be in 'is game. None of us can be backin' out now.... or 'e will find us first for sure."
He didn't say that to scare anyone, but sometimes the truth was very scary. Leon couldn't see himself lying in order to keep people happy, that kind of happiness was flawed at best. People whom were satisfied just because they had yet to learn the truth were merely being deceived, and would be broken when the hidden information was at last revealed.
The Lieutenant just merely wanted to break it to them, how it was. No smoke and mirrors, he wasn't a magician. He was a person, one that liked to be honest, even if it seemed harsh.

Where ever I wander, where ever I roam, There's only one place I'll ever call 'home'The Dual-Wielding Master Lord, Roy Roy had managed to sneak a peek at the note that was left behind at the scene of the crime and was now coming up with his own conclusions. The letter was asking about what made a life worth living, and why do you kill. Life is used to be protected, and you kill to protect your own cowardly ideals when they clash with another's. From the clean penmanship to the madness scribbled on the back, it was clear that they were dealing with a psycho path. But wait. If he tried to see how the killer thought, maybe he'd get a better understanding. It might have been possible that the killer had lost a precious someone and was perhaps performing a ritual of sorts to bring it back? Maybe he ran out of time while writing the back of the letter, which was why it looked sloppy. After a few minutes, he sighed, shaking his head. Too many logical explanations, not enough clues.

Isadora nodded. "It's true. Once you enter a villainy dastard's game, you have two choice. Either play the killer's game or be killed. However, I don't know what the killer's true motive is. Even though it seems that he is planning to kill more, it does not explain his action of wanting us to play."
What did the killer want from them? Surely, it couldn't be their attention since he already had theirs. And besides this crime, what did Tura want her to see? That strange fellow wasn't very clear to her when he explained that things were changing in Eyris. Could it be that he was referring to this crime? And if so, why?
Before she could ponder more, she heard Amelia questioned her. Isadora replied. "There's nothing really happened. He was telling me that something is changing in Eyris, a climax is coming, and I have to see it. Besides that, he told me that it was useless of me to pay respect to... your father."
It was somewhat uncomfortable for Isadora to tell Amelia about that. She knew that Amelia had cared so much for Father Renault. After all, she was his adopted daughter. However, it also felt weird for Isadora to be Amelia's guardian too. Being a guardian had a different responsibility than being a protector.
Even though she had promised Father Renault that she would keep Amelia out of harm way, Isadora knew that Amelia was a grown woman. She couldn't tell her that this crime was too dangerous. Amelia was part of the Watchman and she knew that it was Amelia's job to help protect the people of Eyris just as she were to protect the citizens too. But how would she let Amelia become an independent woman without breaking her promise to the late Archbishop?
When she heard Amelia suggested about placing a bulletin, Isadora disagreed. "No, we can't need to place a bulletin right away. Even though I doubt he is suspicious, we have no evidence to prove if he is related to this crime or not. Yes, I know he said about the change in Eryis and that the foreshadow is coming. However, I have not heard anything from him if he is involved in this. He may be a seer who is able to see the future like Nils. Remember, innocent until proven guilty.
"If we run into this Tura person again, we can question him more. And if he is related to this crime and we are unable to capture him, then we can place the bulletins of him as either the killer or suspect. But for now, it seems that this Tura is an interesting person in question. We cannot place him as suspect until we have evidence to prove that he is related to the crime."

((Aaaaand for the sake of time? Timeskippy.))
Morning. The sun had not yet risen above the tops of the trees, and not many had yet come out... but the assassin prowled the streets once again. His cloak was not torn; perhaps he'd replaced it during the night. Whatever the case, the next victim was soon to come... He knew what the Watch was saying. He always knew. They had decided that he was against society; they had decided he wanted revenge. Perhaps... but only in the smallest of ways. It was the guild that he wanted to teach a lesson to, and only them; the citizens would learn a lesson in their own way. As for the targets...
He picked them carefully. They were not chosen on the spur of the moment; rather, he had watched them, learning their habits, the ways they always walked, and each person had their own reason for being chosen. The man he followed now was one who was a bit less then desirable; a bit larger than normal, and he didn't seem to bathe very often. He walked early in the morning, for he had a job that ran for a long time. But today, he wouldn't be making it to that job.
In the central courtyard of the city, there was a beautiful fountain. Many of the citizens admired it, and spent free time sitting by it and listening to the soft sound of the water cascading down its stone sides. This was where the assassin struck. With one smooth motion, he slid up behind the man, knife sliding around and across the huge belly. The free hand came up to stuff a piece of cloth into the man's mouth, cutting the scream off at the sharp intake of breath. The man struggled, of course; being disemboweled hurt quite a bit. But, he had no chance. the knife moved again, removing the man's stomach from his living body; and the man's eyes rolled back into his head as first consciousness and then life slipped from him.
And now, to prepare the scene; but wait, what was this? There was a woman, looking at him from across the square, eyes wide open in horror. she moved backwards, turning to run; and the assassin threw the knife, which hit her square between the eyes. It didn't kill her, however; the throw had been timed so that the hilt would slam into her forehead, with enough force to knock her unconscious.
He dragged the limp woman back over to the fountain; he could use her, as well. It took only a few moments to set up his portrait... When the Watch arrived, they would find quite a grotesque scene. The fat man's body had been slid down over the top of the fountain, the top of the fountain now inside the empty bodily cavity. And the water that had once flowed down stone now spurted from his mouth, tinged red. The woman had been seated, looking up at the man there, her face contorted into an expression of amazement with a few clips, easily removed. The note was in her hand; she held it out, arm propped by carefully-arranged sticks, like she was offering it to the new 'gargoyle'...

"You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything. You have to look →forward→. Remember what you have here now. Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX{Amelia}Why in the name of Latona had they set her on the early morning watch again? Amelia yawned and ran a hand through her hair, turning her eyes up to the sky. The sun still hadn't fully risen, late morning hadn't come yet. Amelia removed her bow from her back and went to work at tightening the strings. It was a finicky process, and she slowed her pace as she turned the small knobs at the ends of her bow, tightening and loosening the strings as she tried to find the best amount of give.
Amelia glanced up from her work at the fountain the central courtyard. Mm, a dead body, bloody water, and another perfectly still woman? Amelia looked back at her bow. These strings weren't ti--
Wait, what?!
Amelia dropped her bow immediately and ran over to the fountain. It was still early, and no one else was in the courtyard yet. "Or are they ignoring this place...?" Amelia murmured. She glanced over the woman: She didn't appear to be dead. Amelia moved to take the sticks away from her arm, then hesitated. Another note. She looked to the side, then reached over and removed the note, placing the strip of paper into her pocket. She would show Captain Ghis once he arrived, and if anyone had notified the authorities, he would arrive. Amelia then removed all the clips from the woman's face and lifted her off of the edge of the fountain, resting her carefully on the ground where she wouldn't accidentally harm herself upon waking up before looking back to the body.
"...Goddammit..." Amelia murmured. It was one thing to murder someone... but to leave them like this, like they were no better than some pig ready for the slaughter, was despicable. Amelia put her hands on her fists and glanced to the side. A sound turned out to only be a running squirrel, claws tick-tacking on the cobblestones.
Well, all right, then. Amelia went back to the fountain and climbed up to the edge, leaning over to try and grab the man's body off the fountain to where the coroners could collect it for inspection. Galloping in the street with the bouquet of flowers in her hand, Isadora let out a yawn. The paladin only had half of sleep last night, concerning of what had happened.
Yesterday, the crew members asked her what happened, she informed them about the crime and the encounter with the strange man. Although some had concern about this, Isadora told them that they had nothing to worry about. She informed them that the Watchmen would capture the killer and that the crime had no relation with Loki.
Even though it was true, Isadora couldn't shake the feeling off. Why did she feel like she was being pulled into this? What did Tura see that she didn't see?
Letting out another yawn, Isadora made a left turn to the main central street. She was heading to Father Renault's grave again, but she had to make a two hour travel to get there.
When she reached to the central, she noticed a figure at the fountain. It's barely morning and already, a child is playing at the fountain. Isadora groggily thought. Whomever kid it was, the parent needed to keep a close watch. Especially when there was a killer on the loose.
Yesterday, the Watch had spread the news about the killer in Eyris. As for the information of Tura, they had decided to name him as person in interest. They couldn't call him a suspect without evidence to show if he was related to the crime.
As the paladin was passing the sight of the fountain, she looked at it. Few seconds later, she did a double take with a spring of awakening inside her.
What? Another murder?
Isadora jumped out of her horse and looked at the body laying near the edge of the fountain. It was a woman. There were clip markings on the woman's face, but the woman was unconscious. Maybe she saw the murderer.
Suddenly, Isadora remembered something. The kid. The paladin looked up at the fountain. She let out a shocking gasp.
It wasn't a kid. It was Amelia and she was climbing. On top of the fountain was a dead man. Isadora felt the lump crawled up to her throat before she swallowed it to keep it down. It was a terrible sight to see.
"That killer did it again." Isadora muttered to herself.

Where ever I wander, where ever I roam, There's only one place I'll ever call 'home'The Magic Swordman Master Lord, Roy Roy, never really having been given a definite answer if he was part of the Watch or not, assumed he wasn't, but decided to ask again next time he saw them. He had spent the night at a local inn (100 gold to sleep in a bed? Hell yeah he'd take that deal! Anything was better than having to sleep with a rock or a bag of vulneries under your head.) before he set out for a walk to find a Watch member. It wasn't long before he came across the fountain, and there he saw a disturbing sight. Another murder. A large male was covering the fountain, red water emerging from his mouth. His insides were probably removed for such a feat. It seemed as if Amelia and Isadora were already at the scene of the crime. He approached them. "Another murder...?" he asked, looking at the two of them, then to the stationary woman that was next to the fountain. He waved his hand in front of her. No reaction. Either she was dead too, or knocked out, or probably just stunned at the murder. It was pretty gruesome.

XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX{Amelia}Amelia was still trying to pull the man off of the fountain about twenty minutes later, biting on her lower lip. She could barely reach the center of the fountain from where her feet were on the edge, and if she climbed to the center, all she would be able to do to get the body to the ground would be to throw it, which didn't seem wise. Amelia continued struggling when she heard a faint voice from nearby. Amelia craned her head to the side and found Isadora standing nearby, the displeasure and worry clear in her features.
"Lady Isadora...!" Amelia gasped. She turned back to the corpse and worked faster, trying to get him off. If she was here, the townspeople would be waking soon. She had to--
"Another murder...?"
Amelia pinwheeled her arms, nearly falling right into the bloody water. Amelia managed to grab onto the corpse's bloodied shirt and hold herself in place, though. "Y-Yes... the woman should be fine, she j-just seems unconsc-- AUGH!"
Amelia yelled as the section of shirt she had been holding onto tore right away, and Amelia flailed, trying to grab onto something, but ended up falling over and landing right into the bloody water. A spray of tinged water crashed up around her and out of the fountain. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX{Graceful Spear}XXXXXXXX"What... I mean is... "Amelia!" Isadora cried as she raced toward Amelia. She stepped inside the fountain and went to the General. "Are you okay?"
The paladin helped the General get up. Isadora unclasped her cape and let Amelia used it as a towel. It was too bad the paladin didn't bring a spare towel. Still seeing the body hung at the top of the fountain, Isadora let out a whistle.
Tuomas heard her whistle and trotted to her. Isadora placed her horse at the side of the fountain and climbed onto him. As she placed one foot on the stirrups, she placed another at the top of the saddle. Using the fountain as the support, Isadora steady herself as she placed both feet on the saddle.
"Stand back, Amelia. I don't want you to get wet as you are now." Isadora said. She then muttered quietly to herself of how disgusting it was as she tried to remove the corpse out of the fountain by pushing upward. She could feel the blood and fresh flesh underneath her soggy glove. After a few heave and pushes, the corpse fell off of the top.
The corpse fell into the fountain, making a huge splash. Some of it hit on Tuomas and Isadora. Tuomas let out a neigh as he got splashed. He didn't move away from the splash for his mistress was still on top of him. Isadora slid down from her horse and pulled him out of the fountain.
She then went back into the fountain and pulled the corpse out. Isadora then laid the corpse aside and looked at it disgustingly. Never had she seen anyone commit a murder like this. Curious of whether the killer left something, she turned to Amelia.
"Did the killer left something besides the corpse and the woman?" Isadora questioned. If the killer left nothing, then they would have to wake up the woman and question her. If this woman saw what happened, maybe they would learn the identity of the killer.

Where ever I wander, where ever I roam, There's only one place I'll ever call 'home'The Magic Swordman Master Lord, Roy Roy saw Amelia spin around quickly when she heard him speak, and saw that she had grabbed onto the victim's clothes. Probably not a good idea. If the body had its internal organs removed, then it was probably safe to assume that the clothes weren't as durable since the body had been so badly mutilated to create this...would it be art? No...probably some other word would be better here. It was too damn early for him to think. He then watched as the clothes Amelia was holding on to suddenly tore and the girl flailed around. The young lord reached out to try to grab her and restore her balance, but she fell into the bloody water...literally. He had a feeling it would tear, and he was right. But he didn't voice that out. "Ew..." he said, looking in slight disgust at Amelia. "Don't swallow the water."He didn't have anything to dry her off with, having left his bag back in the inn. The young lord had been assured by the female innkeeper that no one would go in his room, so his items like the raw materials he picked up in his travels and the elixers would be safe. "Let's go get you dried off." he told the female General. But it seemed as if Isadora already had that taken care off. He then helped the Paladin move the body off the fountain before taking a step back to examine the extent of the damage done to it.

XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX{Amelia}Amelia was pulling herself out of the fountain as rapidly as possible, literally rolling right off of the edge of the fountain onto the hard ground. "Ewww... goddess, this is disgusting," she muttered, shaking her head from side to side to fling out some of the water. As Isadora gave her a cloak to use to help dry off, Amelia removed the note from her pocket and immediately set to work at making sure the ink wasn't marred and that it would still be legible. Luckily enough, she had saved it just in time.
The General let Isadora handle the corpse as she smoothed out the note, the sun drying the paper rapidly. She unlatched the various parts of her armor and put it down on the ground to dry, wrapping the cloak around her as she sat now in her protective undergarments. Nothing was being revealed, but she still felt awkward without the extra fabric covering her.
"We need to make sure Captain Ghis is on his way," Amelia murmured. She sneezed once and rubbed a dry part of Isadora's cloak against her face, drying it. "Another note?" Isadora asked as she looked at the note besides Amelia. Though the paper was wet, the paladin hoped that the writings onto it wasn't damaged. If it did, then they wouldn't know what the message said.
"I'll send in the message to Captain Ghis while you wait for any upcoming Watchman to come." Isadora said as she went to her horse. She then turned to Roy. "Make sure you cover the body, Lord Roy. We don't want anyone to see this. In the meantime, make sure the woman doesn't leave if she wakes up. We need her to question."
Isadora then rode off to deliver the message to Captain Ghis. If she found a messenger or one of the Watch, she would tell them what happened.
The bouquet of flowers was left behind.

Ed was thoroughly exhausted.
She'd been devoting all her time to study of bird anatomy and typical sword training. She found that her stamina had heightened considerably, and while she could have been proud of it, there was no one to talk to. It was hard being alone. Perhaps it was just a shadow of her former self, the one who would have loved to share her accomplishments with any friend she had. But while the Ed now had friends, they were usually gone with someone more important, or doing something more important, and one of them was dead.
The wolf quietly stepped along the cobblestones, her head down, her tail despondent. Passing citizens only spared a glance out of curiosity. Laguz and domestic dogs were scarcely any danger.
Ed was still trying to figure out why Renny had left.
And her other good buddy was constantly going missing, and Valter wasn't around much either, and old friends like Nasir had vanished... Why did this happen? Was she bad luck? She hoped not. She didn't want to be bad luck to other people.
But you be a black thing, Edina. Black cats 'n such er scorned, aren't they?
Yeah, maybe she was just bad luck... That would probably explain why bandits attacked her family's farm all those years back, but if it hadn't been for that she would have never taken up the sword, nor found the guild.
Speaking of bad luck. Something smelled funny.
Ed lifted her head, hesitating in the middle of the street as the wind breathed to her a most peculiar scent. It was a familiar one too. She couldn't quite place it, but the nostalgia sent chills down her spine. Ed bristled slightly at the feeling. What was it? She picked up the pace and trotted along, hoping to her patron deity that the wind would remain as it was, blowing this scent astray to her.
The further she went, the more recognizable the scent became. And then it became clear. Her hackles rose as high as they could as Ed growled in confusion. She broke into a run, darting straight down the street as citizens casually shifted out of her path. The wolf sprinted as quickly as she could to find the source of blood as soon as possible, for she could tell it had to be a very serious case if the scent of blood was so strong from that distance.
Why were these people so calm? Didn't they notice anything?
She was experiencing terrible chills now. What was going on? The smell of blood was really thick now. It hit her so hard her head swam, but she pressed on, slipping through an alleyway and sprinting relentlessly to the source. This time people struggled to get out of her way, one falling over her because the two had moved in the wrong direction simultaneously. He or she'd be okay.
Right now, Ed smelled the blood like it was a battlefield.
No...no, it was worse.
She skidded to a halt as she came upon a fountain that was once so pristine and pure. A high whine rose from her throat as she watched Lady Isadora pushing a carcass off the top of the fountain, blood-drenched water splashing onto the horse nearby. Amelia was soaked in the concoction, Roy was near, the air pungent with a grim tension and urgency.
Ed felt the bile rise in her throat. Her deep blue eyes locked onto the strange woman present, a woman who was also unresponsive. Dead?
Slowly, she backed away, ears folding. "Urr...? Urr...?"
She was certain this wasn't her bad luck's doing, stepping aside as Isadora rode by.

If it was anything like the last one, then maybe they could try to understand the killer. He nodded when Isadora told him to cover up the body, and proceeded to do so by unclipping his cape from his armor and throwing over the deceased. He then paused, hearing a sound behind him, and turned to see a wolf. Wolves, in a town? He shook his head. Probably a Laguz (there weren't any where he was from, but he had met quite a few during his time in FEF). He waved to the female wolf before readjusting the covering on the dead body.
