Evana rushed inside. "I know I'm late, but I have a reason. Something happened with my mom's car with the tires or whatever. I didn't really look into what exactly happened, didn't care that much." Evana never was really that good at making excuses. Evana looked around and hesitated on what to say next. "Yeah, I'll go backstage...", and thus she did.

Ryan nodded and went backstage. "Kytes? You're up first."

Simon glanced at one of the contestants. Evana if he remembered her name correctly. He stared at her and then moved his eyes over to a spot on the wall.
"Well we know at least two of the contestants are here. The other's better hurry."
Simon was getting impatient. He didn't have time to waste for those who were late. Time was money. He crossed his ankles and started bobbing one to a soundless beat in his head.
"We're on in five." He heard. Thank goodness.

Kara smiled, "Ah, there we go." She sat upright in her chair and got ready for the cameras. The show was about to begin.

Alex sat up alittle straighter in his chair. This could be interesting. He glanced around wondering who Kytes was.

 Nodding the male pulled himself up from the couch, nodding to the other contestant with a hesitant smile. Making his way around to the the side entrance, he waited for the go-ahead before moving to center stage. Kytes greeted the judges with a small grin. "Hey guys."

Ryan followed Kytes on stage and indicated the chair for him to sit at. The crowd burst into applause.
"Kytes Xavier, ladies and gentlemen!
"Now Kytes," he said for the quick interview before the show, "You're our first for tonight. A little nervous?
"Tell us a little about your childhood. How did you come to be interested in music?"

Kara nodded at Kytes as a hello and then smiled. She watched intently as Ryan interviewed the young man, interested about his story.

Evana sighed. She didn't respond well to competition. Normally she was very confident, especially now that she got a record deal and on the top 13 on American Idol. But when competition came along, her self-esteem was lowered. Evana tried to convince herself she was excellent anyway.
