OH OH OH!!! Title one subforum "The through and through of the daily grind" and have the first thread an announcement titled "Potato" and the only thing it should say is "Clump" and then see where it goes from there...

I could see a forum for talking about school-related things..
As a graduate student I frequently get asked for help online by those who know my subject area and my love of teaching. (It's why I'm doing the Ph.D. I want to continue both teaching *and* researching.)
Having a properly moderated school/homework help forum could, potentially, work out well. Properly moderated is the key, though. Things like asking for someone to read your essay and then *posting* said essay is actually a Very Bad Idea. Opens up allll sorts of doors into plagarism accusations. But, say, posting a sentence and asking if it makes sense or if the grammar is all wonky is fine.. Asking for help on how to, say, calculate the moles of acid at the end of a titration is fine.. razz
And, yes, I am a thoroughly geeky academic type. I know school isn't for everyone, and that's fine.. I'm not trying to promote oh, everyone needs to be like Jess and spend their life buried in academia or anything.. Just proposing a place where those who are in school - any stage of school - have a refuge to ask for help. Or, maybe, rant about stuff without revealing names, of course. smile
I'll even pony up the gold for it if anyone actually likes this idea.

@ Jess: This sounds interesting. I would like to see something like that, but, like you said, I'm not sure how many people would want it.
@Addict: I'm not to sure about that one... That easily encourages slander which is against the TOS and also swearing which is against guild rules.
Alexia: Not a bad idea. 3nodding We should see how many people do zOMG in this guild. I'll start a topic for it in the Chatterbox first.
Shaldan: I see comics made as a form of art. As for talking about it, that could be in the Entertainment subforum. 3nodding

i know you have an entertainment subform but i think people would talk more about books if ithad its own subform. and a subfor just for polls.
