Sokras waited until Austin went to his room and then went around the house setting up barrier wards. In order to master illusions, he had to learn the same basic skills that shrine guardians did. That's where his power came from. My human family may have tried to purge me from this world, but that's their job as shrine guardians. That's why, before I was forced to kill them, I'm...lucky they taught me at least this much. Once the wards were set, he lay down on the couch and went to sleep. To his surprise, he dreamt of nothingness that night, something that he was grateful for since it rarely happened.

Sokras awoke to the smell of breakfast. His stomach grumbled reminding him that he hadn't eaten lunch nor dinner yesterday because of...his little run-in. Yawning, he got up and glanced around. All his wards were still in place. Relaxing a bit, he entered the kitchen. "... ... ..." He wanted to say something, but he couldn't remember the words. Had it really been so long since he last said them?

Sokras jumped when Austin greeted him and smiled. He blinked. A smile, he couldn't even remember the last time he did that. No, it's not that he didn't remember, he didn't want to. So he sat down at the table. "...G-good...morning." He teased his food with his fork. "Fine."

"Well, it's not like you're gonna live long so...what the hey." He took a bite of his food. "For starters, I was originally a human experiment. However, my test only succeeded in making me female, so I was to be discarded." He ate some more. "Before it could happen, everyone was killed by a 'demon.' A family of shrine guardians who also worked part-time exterminating demons took me in. Because of their powers, they knew right off the bat that I wasn't normal. So they tried to raise me lovingly. But something in me repelled most people and caused them to hate me." He finished his plate. "When I turned 16, whatever repelled them caused them to turn blood-thirsty and I was forced to kill them. Afterwards...I left and did work at an organization that dealt with other worlds." He paused slightly and looked outside with nostalgia. "I worked there for 5 years, then the test that was done on me suddenly wore off, making me what you see now. Shortly afterwards, my body changed. I couldn't die. Nor could I be killed. People thought I found immortality. But I had not, it was something else. Then, a voice representing the universe, rang out everywhere. It was declared...that everything will end at my hand and I shall become the new universe. Everyone went crazy for my blood. I've been running since." He looked at Austin. "What do you have to say to that?"

"Unfortunately. I can't even go for a walk without Sweepers or Interpol cops from showing up." He leaned back in his chair and gave a tired sigh. If 'he' were here, he'd have protected me from everyone. But...he btrayed me. Because of him, I've had no joy. And yet, I can't seem to hate him. He completely forgot that Austin could read minds.

"I just don't want to talk about...'him.' Not now..." He paused as a look of depression overcame him. "Not ever." He got up and left the kitchen. Sorrow coming off of him in drones.
