A dark figure might have been seen slinking about in the shadows on the outer edges of the event...if people hadn't been so distracted by the pirates' arrival. Of course, to be honest, he cared little about that. He was investigating the noise and chaos in general.

...okay, mostly the smell of roast pig wafting on the air.

While the other Pae rushed about, upset about...something or other, the dark demon stood and folded his wings over his shoulders, slipping closer to the party with the grace of a predator. His slitted eyes scanned the crowd, taking in the sights and sounds, especially those of food and drink. Wait...there were a couple of familiar faces.

Tension he wouldn't personally acknowledge easing a bit, Kane changed direction and headed for the pair by the drinks, smirking and flashing his fangs as he peered over Magnus' shoulder. "Hey, whatcha' doin?"
PostPosted: Fri Jul 31, 2009 12:54 am

Faroth chuckled, shaking his head at Kane as he followed the demon into the party. Did he really have to act all secretive like that? Seemed kinda' silly when he'd intended to join the party anyway. Was he really fooling anyone? Really?

So, some distance behind, the faun teenager shrugged with amusement and strolled along after the demonic feline. He didn't intend to trail Kane any further really, but figured he'd pause long enough to say 'hi' to 'old friends' as it were.

"Hey, long time no see," he winked and waved at Texas and Magnus, then Kane who ignored him pointedly. "I'll let you all have your fun. I gotta' check the rest of this place out!" So, he waved once more, then spotted something tasty looking on the food table and wandered off that way. Mmm...food.

The celebration had gone from party to chaos in no time flat. While he and Magnus had been in front of the punch and had decided not to wander over to the roast pig (at least until the throng of people lessened), he still didn't catch the pirate invasion until it was too late and the lovely dancer who had been on the stage was gone.

The faes announced that they would need some help to get the girl back. He should help. What kind of person would he be if he didn't help them out? A guilty person, that was who. What if she was killed before anyone could help her? He shuddered at the thought of death, and went to walk in the direction of the faes, before Magnus reached out and stopped him.

"Please don't leave me here."

...The guilt trip from Magnus was highly unusual; in fact, it was more likely that Magnus would beg him to leave him alone than request he stay. But he should help the poor girl! ...Well, he saw Aysu run off in some random direction. She was helping, so he didn't need to, right? He could be there by relation. At least, he hoped he was right.

Fortunately, a distraction came soon enough. Seeing Kane creep up behind Magnus, Texas bit his lip lightly to stifle a chuckle.

Magnus quirked a brow at Texas, wondering what he could possibly be looking that amused about after that pirate-napping, but his answer came soon enough. Hearing Kane's voice in his ear made the faerie jump slightly, stiffening in his alarm. He glanced over to the side and waved slowly with the arm furthest from the secretive feral demonic. "Hi."

At Magnus' response to the man he already considered a good friend, Texas openly snickered. "'allo Kane." He then turned to pour out a glass of the oh-so-obviously spiked punch for Kane when he heard another voice, and glanced over his shoulder. Wow had Faroth grown! It seemed like Vangelis wasn't the only one who had recently had a growth spurt. He waved, before offering, "Have fun!" and turning back to the alcohol.

The prior chaos was easier to forget than usual... maybe it was the alcohol talking. With a mild shrug, Texas turned his attention back to Kane. "Just trying out some of this punch. Pretty good, actually." Texas Pete extended his arm to offer the freshly filled glass to the dark blue demonic in front of him.

Kane held back a snicker of his own, settling for a cocky smirk and an amused twitch of his demonic tail. "Yo." Still looking entertained by his own antics, he took a step around Magnus to join the group in a more 'normal' fashion. Now that he was done scaring people.

Raising an eyebrow, Kane eyed the cup skeptically before taking it. "Punch, eh?" He didn't usually drink much other than plain old water. A long time ago, back home, they'd had a lot of sweet things like fruit juice in the house, but it was typically too sweet for the demon's tastes. He'd had some other drinks that weren't too bad, but few of those were available in the wild, so he stuck with water for the most part.

Still, he'd give it a shot. Maybe it wasn't too bad, despite the bright color. He swirled the contents of the cup first, then lifted the cup to smell it. Wait...was that...that strong odor...

He grinned widely before eagerly tipping the glass back, the liquid rushing down his throat, somehow both cool and burning at the same time. Alcohol. The good strong kind. How long had it been since...well, he couldn't remember. Either way, he let out a satisfied sigh as he lowered the glass. "You're right. Pretty decent stuff," he commented with a grin.

"Plenty more, right?"

Something about Kane's reaction to the glass of alcoholic punch made a familiar grin come back to Magnus' face. Texas let out a small sigh of relief as the Dionysus fae himself began talking. Sometimes, cheering his younger brother up was all too easy. "Naturally. It wouldn't be a party without more of the stuff," remarked Magnus, quickly turning to pour himself another glass. Then, without another thought, he took the glass he poured and gulped it down the way one would drink water if they were thirsty.

He turned to Texas and mouthed, "See, Kane can understand my hedonism."

Texas rolled his eyes, but chose not to comment on Magnus' mouthed remark. At least Magnus was beginning to act normal again. The demonic paused to take a glance around the party and make sure there was indeed 'plenty more' where that came from, only to spot the pirates off in the distance with their own barrel of whatever. "It seems those pirates over there brought over some of their own variety," pointed out Texas, gesturing over his shoulder to draw attention to a few of the celebrating pirates.

Magnus, without even saying a word, started in that direction.

"That wasn't necessarily meant as a suggestion, Magnus."

"Yes, Texy, but it looks like these people have a sense of festivity." He smirked over his shoulder, before continuing in the Pae'il Pirates' direction. "Perhaps they've got something better than the punch. Something... stronger, preferrably."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 01, 2009 2:03 am

"Sounds like the kind of party I could actually enjoy," the feral demon chuckled. Not about to be outdone, he was quick to pour himself another glass and followed Magnus in tipping it back. As if some Fae thing was gonna' show him up. Ha!

He apparently missed the mouthed comment, as he was busy enjoying the alcohol burning its way down his throat at the time. He'd have likely shrugged the comment off anyway. Nothing wrong with enjoying oneself once in a while.

Wait...pirates, what? Apparently, Kane had arrived a little late to notice all the excitement earlier. For now, all he could see was a bunch of funny-looking Pae, shouting and celebrating something. And barrels. Very interesting sorts of barrels whose contents could only remain secret if they chose not to investigate.

Couldn't have that now, could they?

Plus, Kane thought he remembered some barrels like that in the HQ. He'd found some on one of his rare trips to the building, and being curious, had to see what was inside. Ah, sweet alcohol. They were labeled with tags like "Rum," "Tequila," and "Vodka." To be honest, he didn't really remember the different tastes between them. Only that they all had the warm, burning sensation that alcohol offered, followed by the pleasant relaxation.

Either way, the mystery could not remain unsolved. So, with a chuckle and a shrug, Kane matched pace with Magnus. "Can't let them keep all the good stuff without sharing. Personally, I could use something with a little 'kick'," he chuckled, shooting Magnus a devious look.

"A little kick?" Zoning in on only a word, Magnus quirked a brow and smirked at the feral demonic who decided to follow him. "The fact that you say little is disturbing. I could use something with a lot of kick." He paused and pursed his lips together, before adding, "Fast."

The faerie loved drinking almost a little too much. The thought disturbed him when he gave it any thought; it being the fact that he loved the alcohol so much he might-as-well have been an alcoholic, that was. Still, he liked to think of it as an appreciation for the finer things in life. Alcohol was a way of relaxation, a way to look refined, a way to be wild, a way to be free, a way to be emotional with no restriction once so ever.

Needless to say, Magnus wasn't one to hold himself back, and this situation was no exception. He glanced over his shoulder at Kane to wink, before strolling up to one of the unoccupied barrels and swiping a nearby cup. Time to see what those pirates were trying to hide from them. From the looks of the celebrating pirates over just a bit away, it certainly had to be good.

Texas groaned. That wasn't what he had in mind. They would be just fine with the spiked punch; there was no need to go digging for something stronger when the punch would get the necessary job done just fine. Still, he had come there with the intention of getting his younger brother drunken and normal, and knowing his habits, the punch's alcoholic content probably wasn't high enough.

"Take life as it comes, Texas," he mumbled to himself, reminding himself of his creed as he walked off to join his brother and feral friend. "You said you were going to be a hedonist tonight, and this is no time to start going back on your word." With a firm nod after his pep talk, he looked up from the ground and turned his attention to the other two Pae'il.

"Alright, what's in there?" asked Texas, with a grin. Nothing was going to try and break his mood today.

Snorting derisively, the demonic feline shot a fangy grin back at the fae. "Only means it takes a hell of a lot for it to BE more than a little kick to me." Yes, he had full confidence in his ability to handle alcohol, that was for sure. Still, he hung back and let Magnus take the lead in investigating the contents of the barrel. Eh, he MIGHT know a bit about things like this and all...

Plus, Kane's attention was captured by some of the lingering pirates in the area. Granted, a majority of them continued to celebrate, paying no mind to the island's Pae in their midst. But a couple had turned, eying the Pae with drunken ill will.

"Arrr...just what ye be thinking of doing with that barrel, land-lubber?" one slurred, his breath thick with the smell of alcohol...and something else. Gum disease most likely.

Kane's eyes narrowed and he stepped between the pirate and Tex and Magnus at the barrel. "I'd say that you lot have more than enough barrels about. Polite society would suggest that you share good drink with the people whose party you've crashed. So we'll be taking this barrel and you can go back to shouting and dancing with your friends over there." He smiled at the pirate, but it wasn't a friendly look in the slightest. Wild and threatening, yes...but not friendly, no.

"Jus' what fool talk be that, ye' scurvy dog?" the pirate snarled back, unimpressed by the single Pae'il that seemed to be mocking him. He was a pirate! He could handle some silly island Pae with no problem!

Plus...he was well on his way to being completely drunk and felt fairly invincible at the moment.

Shaking his head almost sadly, Kane chuckled darkly. "Tsk tsk...you really have no manners at all, do you? You really should learn a few...and this is why..." Trailing off, the demon's smirk turned more threatening as his fangs elongated and he dropped to all fours, snarling as his hands and feet turned to bladed claws. In no time, the pirate found himself staring down a...hungry-looking blue tiger...rather than some demon weakling.

Whether or not the pirate carried a weapon, no one would ever know. He probably forgot himself. He'd apparently decided to 're-evaluate the cost of the single barrel' versus bodily harm, as he turned on his heel and ran, shouting something about them keeping the blasted thing.

Raised hackles slowly lowering, the tiger shook out his fur and padded over to the other two Pae, shifting so he could speak again. He still had a tiger's tail swishing behind him as he peered into the barrel with a grin. "So...what's the verdict?"

"Uh no, not siblings of mine, they are siblings to each other though, thats Beldaran and Darius... They seem to think I'm their mother... dont ask me" she added suddenly, knowing how odd that sounded "And the fae is Tiffany.. You'll have to forgive me I'm a lil disorientated right now, I dont remember a lot of this stuff being around yesterday, these naiads, fauns, even the isle the way it is... I dont get it I just dont" Estra told Joi

The two siblings cheered dancing with the music hollaring for more once the song was done

Joi was very confused by the things this angel was telling her. But apparently, the teen was even more confused than Joi. "Well ... uhm, maybe they're just being teens and razzing you for the reaction?" she suggested, not sure of what else to say.

"wait, did you say Tiffany? I have an aunt named Tiffany that looks amazingly a lot like that girl. But ... my aunt is a lot older than me..." Joi wondered now if perhaps that sip of punch was a bad idea. She looked into her cup and at the blue teen again, before looking to Estralita. "Very ... strange. Are you new to the island?"

Zuri was so grateful for the punch that he beamed at her from ear to ear before taking the glass and practically dumping it down his throat as if he was a sink. Having some water in his system felt so good, even if it was in the form of punch. Why did it tingle as it went down his throat? No matter, he felt like he could use his voice again, for at least a little bit of time.

The beautiful angel girl then rushed off to go find something, apparently having a good idea. That left Zuri with the overly acidic stomach dude who had really ugly ears. Knitting his brows, the naiad cautiously edged away from the strange angel and waited for the prettier angel to return.

She was coming back! Oh good. ...With news of WATER! And fresh water, at that?! Zuri all but squealed in his excitement as he swiped a cup off the table and ran to the hose, refilling it many times and dumping it on his head at first, before dropping the cup altogether and practically bathing in the hose water. The poor guy must've been dried out pretty bad.

Zuri swiped the cup off the ground and poured himself a glass of water before returning to the blue and green angel with a bright grin from ear to ear. "Thank you so much. I was drying out really bad there... really bad." His voice sounded a lot better now, and he was no longer trying to itch himself with his long nails. However, he was now drenched from head to toe, and was tracking water in the sands. After pausing, he offered, "I'm Zuri Seabrook."

Xanthea watched the red boy and his excited antics with the water. She couldn't help but chuckle after seeing that he was okay. She did try to keep the chuckling to herself though, because she didn't want to seem like she was laughing at his misfortune. It was merely amusement because she's never interacted with others of her kind before.

"Are you alright? You seem ... much more relaxed now." she didn't quite understand the 'drying out' thing he spoke up. She certainly didnt' need water like he did.

It was then she actually took notice of his ears, and lack of wings. Maybe he wasn't the same as her? But by all other accounts, he seemed at least similar. It was all so fascinating! She extended a hand to the boy, "I'm Xanthea. It's nice to meat you, Zuri." she smiled warmly, chuckling ever-so slightly at the water trail he was leaving.

"I have no idea, they seem.... sure of themselves, for lack of any other definitions" She pauses, her eyes watching the pair of teens once more. She didnt notice Joi looking into her cup but did hear the Fae's musings

She shrugs not entirely certain what to make of that. "New... uhm no.... But I can say one day I'm in teh manor, ... next... well I'm in a hall full of statues with a bunch of other Pae'il, ones like I've never seen before... like taht one" she points at a naiad "or that one" she points at a faun "And nothing seems the same, like... the isle, How could teh guardians let it fall, and whhen, I don't remember it doing that" The look on Estra's face was growing more confused and slightly concerned-looking the entire time she spoke
PostPosted: Fri Aug 07, 2009 3:52 am

Joi blinked, unsure still. This girl was going on like a loony. Though it almost sounded like amnesia. She'd been read stories about that by her mother, and was even told of her own mother's bout with it. "Perhaps you just have some sort of memory loss?"

Whatever happened to this girl, happened before the Guardian's moved the island. "Well, according to the posted signs, the Guardians put us here to grow." she shrugs, not entirely sure that was believable, even to her.

"And the little hooved pae are Fauns. They came outta that huge tree over on the eastern side of the island. I guess they're an ancient race, like the Naiads that showed up a couple years ago." This was old news to the fae.

"You ... said you were in a hall of statues? Where?" this was new to her, she didn't know of a place on the island like that. Perhaps answers could be found there?

"Fauns and Naiad?... a tree?" she frowns slightly "Grow, I dont understand, I thought there was still much ability for us to grow right here on the isle the way it was" She looked around again at all the pae around her, well she'd seen a lot of pae before but this didnt didn't look like a LOT of Pae.

"Yeah a hall filled with statues, it was up in the city, which I might add I dont remember being anything but ruins... It had a... eerie and, sad feeling to it, like dispair that never would lift..." she tried to discribe how she'd felt
PostPosted: Fri Aug 07, 2009 4:22 am

Joi brought a hand up to her head and rubbed her temple. "I haven't been to the City since it opened. Actually ... even before then, I never went. Mom always told me to stay away to keep from getting hurt. So I suppose anything's in there. Was there any type of caretaker or sign or anything?" She was curious. Mostly because she felt bad for this girl. Sounds like its been traumatizing.

"And yeah, I don't really understand why we're in the middle of the sea myself. But hey, Guardian's know better than us, right?" Joi gave a weak smile and tipped her head to the side.

"There was someone there, An old guy, he was sitting there he didnt say anything, or whatever, he seemed sad... Had a couple tools in his hands..." Estra replied slowly and thinking "I didnt see a sign, just statues on pedstals, llil plaques under them, didnt really look to see what those said... and the old guy... Then we left there, the 4 of us, and 4 others who had been there..."

"And yes teh guardians definetaly know best... just don't understand it is all" she sighs
