JoshuaKenzo Trust me, I have the most technically correct kendo, iaido, bajutsu, judo and aikido among people of my level (and sometimes even higher). I can handle it, apparently. I feel blessed and am very thankful for it. Hey, more power to you dude. I agree though, not many people can control their body to learn a new style quickly. 'bajutsu'? Isn't that Japanese horseriding? sweatdrop

The problem with the breakfalls in Togakure Ryu is that they always assume you have to roll... Not practical...

Rolling as opposed to just doing ukemi can possibly take the attacker balance. 'Possibly', I can't talk for the style seeing that I'm only 4th Kyu; but there are plenty of counters and counter-counters.
From my observation, the breakfalls/rolls in Bujinkan (seeing that it's not just Togakure-ryuu, isn't it?) are mainly used to evade or for whoever's going to get thrown to not hurt themselves, and sometimes as a counter to some grappling technique.
Just from what I've seen so far... sweatdrop

Yah, bajutsu would be horseriding. It's pretty cool. You get to shoot arrows and throw spears and do sword techniques on horseback. Then there's a sort of grappling form that is used also by the Belgium mounted police force. It's great fun to do, especially since you can do so many things with the horse and the fact you have to be capable of using weapons on both sides (in both hands, this means you have to reverse the traditional way of holding the bow wich is real fun). Jumping and shooting at the same time is awesome.
The best thing, though, is that it is still small in Europe and the first day I came there, I had results that were almost as good as those of the female European champion. blaugh Of course, she rides better and stuff. But I owned her when it came to sword-fighting and the acrobatics on the horse. (jumping on and off and reversing etc.)

Whoa, that sounds good. My Bujinkan instructor does some Bajutsu as well~most of the people who do it are European, I suppose?

Well, yah. Europeans and Japanese make up the bigger part of the tiny Yoseikan Bajutsu group.
I've never heard of Bajutsu outside Europe or Japan... We were so lucky to have a Belgian guy settle a European center for Yoseikan Bajutsu in Belgium...

Thats quite good for a laugh..

pole vaulting? You mean jumping over these fence thingies?
In that case, yah. Like I said, we have to practice jumping and shooting at the same time.

No I mean taking a long strong pole, galloping as fast as you can, stand on the saddle, stick the end of the pole in the ground then seeing how high and far you can fly... its a very dangerous but good fun xd
