Cheveyo rubbed the paste into his left shoulder. He didn't appear to be fazed by the sting. He'd been taking care of himself since he was a pup and had a trial and error run with the plants to find which ones were good and which weren't. Once he learned which were he committed them and their smells to memory. "I can take care of it," Cheveyo replied to her before picking up some more and chewing it. He spat it onto his paws and rubbed it on the right side of his face. When he was done he looked at Aliana "What will you do now?" He asked wondering she was going to go back and sick her parents on him.

Aliana nodded and watched him, fascinated by how easily he seemed to care for himself with the plants. “I can see that,” she said, somewhat dryly before lying her head back down onto her paws. Her back paw was throbbing, but the pain was fading and the sting was long gone. She opened one eye to look at the remaining leaves, trying to commit their appearance to her memory just in case she ever needed them again. Glancing up at Cheveyo as he spoke again, she gave him a curious look, “is that a polite way of telling me to leave?” She asked, stretching slightly. She was in the sun light, soaking up the warmth. “I suppose I'll leave soon, probably go exploring again,” she explained without real interest. She didn't want to go home, she'd have to go wash herself before she did anyway, her mother would freak out at the sight of blood. Hopefully she could disguise her limp too.

Cheveyo sighed he had figured she would take what he had said the wrong way. "No I wasn't telling you to leave. Stay as long as you like. I was just wondering," Cheveyo said. He was glad she wasn't going to go straight to her parents. He didn't want to have to move again. He closed his left eye because his right one was already closed. He would need to go to the river to was of the red that was staining his fur.

Aliana blinked in confusion when he didn't immediately kick her out of his territory. Tilting her head to the side as he seemed content to simply close his eyes. Was he taking a nap? This was getting strange. “Why are you being so nice now?” She said suddenly, frowning in confusion. “You were ready to attack me earlier for being in your territory, now you bring be plants to heal the wounds you inflicted and you're saying I can stay as long as I like in a territory you have already claimed was your own?” She shook her head in bemusement. “You don't make sense, Cheveyo.”

Cheveyo opened his eyes. The right one had a reddish tint to it that would probably go away after a while. "It's my territory. I can act how I want. I don't need to make sense," he replied looking at her squarely. "I promise you safe passage through my territory whenever you wish. Just howl when you enter it. So I know when you enter," Cheveyo said to her. He knew it would seem weird but he had grown to like her. He had a very strange way of making friends. With that he rested his head on his paws and closed his eyes again.

Aliana listened to Cheveyo, a bemused expression on her face the whole time he was speaking. Shaking her head, she rested her head on her own paws, watching him through half closed eyes. “You're so strange,” she said softly, shaking her head again, “but I'll remember that. I don't really want to get attacked again.” She knew his eyes were closed and he was probably tired, but despite her injury, she was still didn't want to just sit and be quiet.“You are a good fighter by the way,” she offered, sounding rather disgruntled that it sounded like a compliment.

Cheveyo laughed Aliana was acting like a true adolescent. "I'll take these in order. 1. I have every right to be, No one controls me. 2. Yeah that would probably be best, and 3. thanks. You're not too shabby either," He replied with his eyes still closed. He was smiling. "So what's keeping you here?" he asked. Usually if he let someone live they were tripping over themselves trying to get away from him.

Aliana blinked as Cheveyo laughed. Really, the shapeshifter confused her. He had been so cruel and mean and now, now he was being so nice and laughing. Huffing, she looked put-out that she couldn't figure the male out yet, though her tail flicked slightly in pride when he returned the compliment, alright so it had been a compliment, about her fighting skills. She had done alright, given it was her first fight. “You're welcome,” she responded, “and thank you.” Tilting her head to the side as she watched him, realising he was smiling. “Nothing's keeping me here,” she replied promptly to his question, “but you said I could stay, and I have no where else to be, plus now that you're not trying to kill me, you're actually quite pleasant company.”

Cheveyo thought him being confusing was a good way to keep from developing habits so that other helixes could attack him. He was really protective of his own skin. "You are right I did say you could stay, You really must not like your home. I guess that would be a compliment," Cheveyo said sounding a little drowsy. It wasn't his fault. His the blood lost from the wound over his eye was starting to get to him. Not to mention the fact that his shoulder had been bleeding too, But head wounds always seemed to bleed the most. He sighed and shifted so he was more comfortable. He was trusting her to not come and attack him.

"Don't take it as a compliment, it was just a statement of fact," she protested lightly, but without real interest in denying it had been somewhat a compliment. Aliana frowned at his comment. “I have nothing against my home,” she said, stressing the word 'home' and if she was honest, she had nothing against her siblings or mother...but her father... Huffing, she squeezed her eyes shut, as if trying to block out the images brought to mind. Letting her eyes flutter open, she glanced at Cheveyo, surprised that he appeared to be almost...sleeping. Did he trust her, or was he simply that tired? No, he wouldn't trust her that much, was he ill? She kept her head down on her paws, in a resting pose but her eyes stayed partially open, watching the shapeshifter curiously. He was a puzzle she couldn't figure out and she was surprised to find she wanted to. He was the first who hadn't turned tail and run at her attitude, probably because he had one of his own.

Cheveyo smiled slightly "So it's who inhabits your home," Cheveyo said as smugly as he could. He had to stifle a yawn in the middle of his speaking. He wondered if she was considering attacking him. If he were her he would have already. She just seemed more confused and surprised than angry. He gave a mental sigh. All this thinking was making him more tired and he was getting more tired. He considered moving but didn't want to so he stood up, limped around in a couple of circles, and curled up on the opposite side from his hurt shoulder. He placed his tail over his nose and quickly he was fast asleep. His breathing falling into the rhythm of deep sleep.

Aliana frowned lightly at his words, shaking her head, “It’s...” she sighed, shaking her head again, “it’s nothing really.” She didn’t want to have to explain it all. It was too complicated, and would take far too long to work it out in her own head, let alone try and make someone else understand. She watched in surprise as he stood, expecting him to leave only to have him lay back down, just in the opposite way. Hesitating as he fell asleep, she got to her own feet. Her paw still hurt but whatever Cheveyo had given her had helped a lot. She began to walk, or rather limp, passed the sleeping form. She hesitated again, she could attack him now, he was tired and unaware, but she didn’t. Instead, she limped passed him. Aliana was stubborn and bratty sometimes, but she wasn’t cruel. She had nothing to gain from hurting the male who hadn’t killed her when given the chance. After all, if she burnt the tentative acquaintanceship then she’d never figure out the puzzle that was Cheveyo. She began the slow and limping trip back to her family, leaving him to rest.
