Today I saw some of the new series sets. I will upload once I get the chance, but it looks like there will be some Terraforming involved.

Hairy Priest If they're changing the ship's interior, I hope the TARDIS's new desktop theme will be 'Sandy Beach'. *imagines the TARDIS crew flying around in skimpy beachwear* *tries to not do that* xp

Hairy Priest I saw the spoiler pictures the Sun had online, and I have to say [spoilers] the 11th Doctor kind of looks dweeby. He almost reminds me of George McFly from Back to the Future. Also what's the actress who played River Song doing there in a red dress and heels? Hmm... Still, you can't really judge a new Doctor just by still pictures alone. Hopefully the Doctor-companion dynamic will be good (I also personally hope she won't be another Rose-type love interest). I concur with your statements but if: I see him trade in the TARDIS for a a delorean all bets are off

I am sorry for the double post but my internet refuses to load the edit page burning_eyes
I just wanted to add that I understand the need to explain the shiny new TARDIS and how River recognized him. I am also a bit apprehensive about this new doctor, but some of you seem to be nit picking and making a fuss over nothing. Sure he is young but some of the best actors in history have been young. Age is but a numeric illusion and complaining about the TARDIS color is a bit juvenile. Keep in mind I'm not trying to be mean or insult anyone. I understand disliking the color, it is a bit too bright to be honest and even more so it lacks it's discreetness because of it. I mean a battered dark blue Police Box is odd but easier to ignore than a bright electric blue Police Box in the middle of the road.
Also maybe the change in style of the Doctor may allude to a slight return to the old series stories. Which in my opinion is well welcomed because in my opinion the Doctor has been a bit too into Earth lately. I mean we have an entire freakin' universe to explore and all his companions want to do is time travel or associate with other humans or something, Please. He got better about this with Donna, as their adventures were a combination of the new and old which was AMAZING.

It's not just, "Ooo, the TARDIS is the wrong shade of blue", it's "Ooo, the TARDIS suddenly looks brand new and shiny after being a battered, faded ol' box for ages"! If they explain how that comes to be, I'm fine with it. Obviously restoring the TARDIS to a pristine state isn't easy--that's what he was trying to do in Logopolis, & never succeeded.

Doctor_Whatsit And a stencil and some white paint for the emblem on the door that's restored? Heh... when I saw the St. John Ambulance logo, I thought that it was just some sticker someone stuck on the door as a joke. Like if I got a sticker for the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) in the mail and decided to slap it on a nearby mailbox to fulfill my daily quota of vandalism. Not that I would ever do such a thing, of course.

Severely pissed off. The tardis looks so fake and plasticy now, it's just ruined. Apparently they have changed the inside of the Tardis as well. That bummed me off. The current interior of the Tardis is my favourite yet!!

The current interior of the Tardis is my favourite yet!! No, I think the Movie one was the best. It had all those rooms that you could actually see, but in the new series you just imagine they exist, and the doors as well were better and made more sense. If the tardis changes shape, why would it have police box doors? In the old series and movie they had biiig doors that you could use to climb out of an organ or something...

I think the TARDIS got hurt/damaged in the Time War--maybe just from the Eye of Harmony no longer existing to feed it energy. Notice that 9 spent a lot of time finding energy sources and ways to use stellar phenomenon to propel him around the universe. And the interior has been very "bare bones" in appearance in the new series. This has been changing over time. The lighting grew less harsh, and you don't see the Doctor trying to get energy for her any more. I think she's healing, and if at last the interior is starting to recover, then that's a good thing. biggrin

Can I go shoot someone right now? It's not about the TARDIS, though. I just heard about the plot/baddie for either episode 2 or 3 of Series 5. I'm pretty annoyed if this turns out to be true. Source: Digital SpyMark Gatiss is writing the episode, and I'm not fond of his stories to begin with. (That could partly be from the awful CGI in 'Lazarus Experiment'). Apparently, the episode is going to be one of the historical ones (a la Dickens/Shakespeare/etc) set in WWII ... but we've already had a two-parter there.. with (and this is the WTF? moment) Churchill using DALEKS to fight against Nazis. Funny, you think it'd be the other way around? confused Also, WTF?!

I'll admit..it does sound like a stupid freakin' idea. However, I will reserve judgment until I actually see the episode. Then I'll go after Gatiss and Moffat with a cricket bat... twisted
