Allison started violently when then man darted past, but was too surprised to process anything until he was gone. After staring at the spot where he'd disappeared with wide eyes, she gasped and started after him. "W-wait! Please-!" Upon hearing another voice, she almost jumped out of her skin completely. Turning around, she put both hands awkwardly behind her back as she examined the... Cat. It was a cat. "I... I'm not sure," she replied slowly, making an effort to be polite, even if the person she was talking to wasn't exactly a person.

'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe Cheshire snickered. " You don't know if you have lost anything, not even your way?.." She asked tilting her head to the otherside. "Be careful though, for if you stay here too long, you might just lose more than your way..."She warned before humming again, she was quite curious to see if this girl would act like Alice too. "Or are you not sure what brings you here? For if you don't, it is a very unwise decision to travel to places without meaning to do so.." While the girl processed exactly what she was, Cheshire's mind wandered to the White Rabbit, wondering if the Alice look alike would also be fascinated with him, for if so, she would have even more of a reason to mislead the girl. Since the girl wasn't saying much, she streched and started to climb up the tree slowly.."Second verse..." Cheshire said, referring to her song, which merely repeated itself over and over. "'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe..." She continued, trailing off, voice growing fainter. ( Not completely!! look!) `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"

Allison had been listening to the cat's speech with a kind of dazed fascination, but when it's voice started to grow fainter, she blinked and moved closer to the tree. "Wait! Please come back!" she implored. Why did everyone keep leaving? She didn't want to be all alone in this strange forest, even if the only company available was an eerie cat who spoke in riddles. Also... There was something very familiar about this whole situation, but trying to remember exactly why that was... well, it was like trying to remember the tune of song she'd heard on the radio months before. It was a strange feeling, very similar to when you couldn't remember your own name in a dream... "I wanted to ask you something."

'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe Cheshire paused, turned around, and came back slowly. "You rang?" She asked rhetorically, for she had intentionally acted as if she was leaving to see if the girl would call her back. Once fully in sight of the girl, she leaped to a branch closer to her, so she could get an up close look. "So, you wanted to ask me something?..."She asked nonchalantly. Cheshire proceeded to sit down, observing the girl, wonder if she figured out where she was yet, or if she would, for there was no way for Cheshire to know if the story of Alice had been spread in the girl's world. "If you are going to ask me some questions, will you let me ask you some?." She asked then laughed to herself."Of course besides this one and the last?" She corrected herself. While she waited for the girl to speak, she streched, and hummed again. Maybe the tune would spark something, she didn't know, didn't care either, for it was her song, and she loved it. . "Your questions, my dear, I will do my best to answer, for I am the cheshire cat, and answering questions to other's liking isn't what I do best." She declared with a grin, patienly waiting. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"

The girl's relief was easily readable in those enormous eyes. "Thank you very much," she told the cat, then paused, trying to decide which question to ask... and how best to phrase it. And... What questions could the cat possibly have for her? "Would you please tell me which way I ought to go from here?" she asked finally. She just wanted to figure out how to get back to civilization... Glancing at an eerily unfamiliar blue mushroom, she shivered. Or back to earth.

I'm late, I'm late, For a very important date. The White Rabbit Stepping over a fallen body, White checked his watch again. "Not bad, not bad," he mused aloud. "Still got time for a short nap." As another villager rushed towards him with a hoarse scream, White sidestepped neatly and sent a slash at the poor man's unprotected neck, cutting him down without a trace of disturbance on his face. "Sorry there, poor chap, looks like you went and lost your head, eh?" Looking around and chuckling at his little pun, card soldiers around him were finishing off the final remnants of screaming villagers, some putting up a fight while others pleaded for mercy. "Remember the words of the Queen, fellows!" He called out merrily. "Off with their heads!" A general roar soared to the night sky among the troops, as the last cries of the civilians were quickly silenced. The burning buildings sent a wave of warmth across his face, and White yawned again. "Oh dear, I seem to be getting tired again... Perhaps I should to back and talk to that human girl to keep me awake..." Striding away from the scene, he pulled out his watch. "I'm early?" He raised an eyebrow in surprise. 'What a pleasant feeling!" His lithe figure was soon swallowed up by the dark and foreboding forest. No time to say "Hello". Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe Cheshire nodded. She was quite curious about this girl, so she smiled when she saw that the girl appreciated that she stayed.. "Which way, witch way...hmm.." She pondered to herself, using the play of words. One general direction would lead the girl toward the Queen of Hearts, the other, toward the white queen. "The path you follow all depends on where you want to go..."She stated lazily, the poor dear needed to tell her where she thought she wanted to go, she would cause mayhem after that. Or maybe not.. "Oh, By the way, if you really want to know, he went that way." She said, indicating a different direction than truth. She sat there idly, waiting to see if she would get to ask her questions, or not...although she was curious and wanted to know a few things."What is your name, my dear?." Cheshire asked sweetly . "And what called you here to Wonderland?." She asked her second question, hoping the girl could answer it too.. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"

Allison glanced in the direction the cat had indicated. It was talking about the man, right? She already knew which way he'd gone; she'd watched him go. ... And it wasn't that way. "Ali... Wonderland?!" She stared at the cat for several seconds, and then abruptly dissolved into giggles. That was it; she was asleep! That was the only thing that made sense. She was making an Alice in Wonderland costume, and now she was having a dream about it, complete with the Cheshire Cat. No wonder everything had felt familiar! "I'm sorry," she gasped after a minute, "I wasn't trying to be rude, I just... Oh dear..." With that, she dissolved into laughter again. If she had known that this was an actual living creature, she would have been mortified by her own behavior. However, she was now convinced that it was just a part of her own subconscious, and... well... she saw no problem with laughing.

All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe Cheshire looked at the girl quite curiously, wondering what sent her into a fit of uncontrollable giggles so suddenly and without warning. "Poor dear, going mad already.." She muttered quietly to herself. Cheshire noticed that the beginning of the girls named matched Alice...but she never finished. "My dear, your laughing doesn't bother me, although your not finishing the answer to my question does..." Within moments, Cheshire jumped from the tree limb and landed on the forest floor. She considered changing into her human form, but she pushed that option to the back of her mind for the moment, for she was, as always, driven by curiosity.. "Is there a reason why you are laughing though..for I see none..." Cheshire watched and waited to see if the girl would catch her breath and speak again. While she watched the giggle fit of the possibly mad girl, Cheshire caught a familiar scent in the air...Could it be??. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"

I'm late, I'm late, For a very important date. The White Rabbit "So." White emerged from the forest undergrowth into the small clearing. "It all begins again, eh Miss Cheshire? How nostalgic," a bitter smile curled its way up his lips. "Only this time, I'm going to stop this madness before it even begins. Drawing his sword silently, White advanced on the girl, a slightly worried look on his face. "Let's make this quick, girl. The Queen's given me orders to kill all humans on sight. Come here so I can end your life, and get on with my schedule." This killing better not make me late again... he thought. And I was just early a moment ago too! Where in the world does all this time go... Suddenly speeding towards the human girl, White sent his sword with a quiet snarl hissing through the air down at her pale and exposed neck. No time to say "Hello". Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

Allison stopped laughing, surprised. "I'm not mad," she told the cat, sounding as though she were trying to decide whether or not to be affronted. "It's just that I-" Everything after that seemed to happen in slow motion, like a dramatic bit in a movie. She heard a man speaking, and then she could hear him practically shooting through the brush at her. She tried to turn, her hair flying out as she whirled around, and simultaneously tried to step back. The end result was that she tripped. The next moment, everything abruptly went very fuzzy, and the back of her head became one massive hurt. Bringing her hand up to feel behind her, she realized that she must have hit it on a rock... or perhaps a particularly hard root. She blinked up with bleary eyes, too dazed to be frightened. This doesn't... Feel like a dream, she thought vaguely.

Cheshire stated before leaping and transforming, catching White's blade with her sharp teeth. She gave him a coy smile, eyes lighting up. "Dear White Rabbit, I must know what caused this poor girl to be sent into an uncontrollable fit of giggles..." Amazingly enough, she managed to speak without her words being slurred or marred by the blade.. "And, if I do remember correctly, it was you that little Alice followed all those years ago...if only you weren't so fascinating..." She stated, gleam in her eyes, for once, she was complimenting him outright, well, outright for her. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"
