All she could do was nod. They'd just been through a whirlwind within a few minutes, and here they were, saying they'd meet for dinner. How... odd.
---
When dinner did roll around, though, Teagan had everything ready. Two roasted pieces of chicken, along with mashed potatoes and corn. It was enough for two people, and wasn't anything too fancy, but she hoped it would do for Nat. while she waited, Teagan sat in the large room she had for her flower business. It had long rows of coolers upon one wall filled with arrangements to be picked up or sent out. In front of her on her work table was an arrangement of hollyhocks and delphiniums, which she finished off with a ribbon. this was what she did for her living, along with baking a few breads to be sold in town. It did get her by.

The sun was just starting to set when Nat strolled down her lane once again, this time looking more presentable. He was as clear minded as he could get, cleaned up and mostly well shaved. his longish hair *about Rihards length if not a bit shorter*, was combed out and parted rather attractively. He wore a green button down shirt like a shell over a light brown tshirt. He hadn't had anything nicer or he would have worn it. he had his nicer pair of khakis on, along with his cleaner pair of work shoes. His glasses he wore occasionally were in his front shirt pocket not sure if that would make him mo presentable or not for Teagan.
In all, he looked like a rather clean cut hippy, if that were possible. He had stopped on the way over, picking a small little handful of wild flowers for he and everything. He was rather confused himself as to why he was doing all of this. He reasoned in his mind that it was simply his way of apologizing. Yes that was it. He was just apologizing for his behavior earlier.
With this in mind, he came to her front door and knocked gently.

Teagan heard him knock and immediately set her flowers down. She hadn't done anything different appearance-wise for him because she honestly felt that she didn't need to. This was her house, after all. "Come on in! It's open!" she yelled from somewhere inside the house. She darted from the kitchen to the dining room with their plates full of hot food. Her home was air conditioned as well, so it was sure to be a nice, cool dinner. Temperature-wise, at least.

Nat made his way in, though a thought hit him. She's a florist you idiot! She spends all day around flowers! What are you thinking!? He looked down at the scraggly mass of wildflowers and furrowed his brow. He looked around frantically, deciding to ditch them into a near by empty vase. He sighed, feeling like an idiot as he made his way towards where he thought he had heard her. "Um, hey. It smells delicious." He smiled upon entering messing with his hair nervously.

"Well, don't you look nice!" It was actually a little flattering that he cleaned up just for her and for dinner. At least he had some redeeming qualities. "Go on, dig in. We can actually eat out on the patio, on the swing if you want. No need to be all formal, right?" Teagan flashed a smile and raced back to her vase in the other room to stash it in one of the coolers before things began to open and wilt. It was always a race against time in her business.

"The patio sounds nice. Its really gorgeous out right now." He smiled, picking up his own plate but stopped to reach for hers. He wasn't sure how 'i can do it myself' she was. And then again, he still couldn't figure out why he was so worried about messing up. "You know...I wanted to apologize for earlier..." He called out, gathering his silverware onto his plate. "I...wasn't me you know?" He chuckled nervously, shrugging a bit. "I shouldn't have like...said what I said to you..."

Teagan emerged from her room and went to the door to hold it open for him. She had a guilty look on her face as well. Everything had been hot-headed from both of them. "I'm sorry, too. Consider this my apology, though. Filling you up and getting some meat on those bones." As she held the door open for Nat, though, her eye caught spots of color in a vase upon the breezeway table. The vase had been empty and decorative before, but then she saw it held wilting grass and still alive flowers.
"Nat, did you leave those?" she asked.

Nat almost dropped her plate and his at the question. "Um- I erm..." He racked his brain for some excuse but settled for the truth. "...Yes... I ...I dont know. I thought I'd bring you somehting...but I forgot you worked with flowers all day, and was worried you'd find them boring or ...or silly..." He shrugged a little, looking away as he just headed out the door to hide his blush.

She just shook her head and went back inside towards the vase. She could use it for flowers... They did fit inside perfectly. Teagan went to the kitchen to fill it up with water and set the blooms inside, which she brought out to the patio to set upon the large railing that kept the world outside her house separate from the patio. "Now, that's silly," she said as she took her seat next to Nat. "Beautiful wildflowers that needed no tending to, all pretty on their own, and you thought I wouldn't like them..."

He found himself swallow slightly, feeling flustered. "Um...Here..." He handed her her plate, smiling slightly as he looked away. "This looks...delicious." He blushed, looking up at her, smiling. Though his gaze kept subtly looking back to the flowers, glad he brought them after all.

Once her plate was in her hands, she sat cross-legged upon the swing. Teagan wasn't going to be formal or overly polite when it was her house and her dinner being served. "Thanks. So, Nat," she said in some effort to dispel the strange air between them. "What do you think of Druis?"

It's...Nice..." He smiled, sitting back more relaxed himself as he stared off into the direction of the setting sun with a sigh. "Its just...different here. I like it." He smiled, shrugging a bit. "Things are slower paced...and things grow here... " That sounded rather dumb but it made sense to him. "I mean... there's an actual chance for things to grow and be cultivated. The plants...wildlife, people, feelings, abilities, art..." He smiled, not sure if it made sense to her the way it did for him.
He let that thought hang as he took a bite of his chicken with an appreciative smile. He hadn't had a good meal in ages, then coming to druis, he was taken aback by all the amazing food bursting with flavor. His favorites were what came form Teagans home.

"I know what you mean," she said before taking a huge bite of her chicken. It gave her tie to think and chew. Nat seemed like he really needed to sort himself out and know what he wanted in life. Music was his passion, and Druis was good for that. He may not make it big, but become a local favorite. Friends were better than fame.
"Couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I have no idea why my parents wanted to leave, but maybe that's because I was raised here. You learn to love the birds waking you up in the morning and the crickets keeping you up at night."

Nat laughed light heatedly. "Yea I've sort of noticed that.... Its not so bad... better than waking up to the sound of a car crash, police sirens, screaming... Its just like you said...somehting you get used to... but here... you grow love everything..." he looked to her at this last art though shook his head. Why'd you just do that? You've only just met her, and you've only gone on and on about Raquel? Why would she be interested in you of all people? He scolded himself silently but acted as if nothing were wrong as he had another bit of his food.

Teagan looked at him when he said that. Blush dusted her cheeks, and she suddenly became preoccupied with her mashed potatoes. He was still in love with Raquel, wasn't he? So why would he bother with someone like her? "Food alright?" she asked. "I tried out something new with the sauce... and I don't know if it's alright."
