Vinny forced a smile. "I'm fine, but I think Mom's made some cookies. So instead of water, let's have milk, alright?" He gave his signature tilt of the head, but that didn't improve his looks any. "It's just my head. Mom said I might have a headache for a few days." He shrugged. "Do you want to finish the game first, or have cookies now?"
But at that moment, Thali walked into the living room with a tray of cookies and two glasses of milk. She set them on the coffee table in front of the two children, and gave each a bright smile. "You feeling any better, Vinny?" She asked, parental concern seeping in through her forced-cheerful look.
Vinny shook his head, something that made him feel like his brains were being shaken. Ow.

Marcy looked at the cookies , but the mood in the room left her feeling anything but hungry. She sat around fiddling with her outfit and smiling. She didn't know what to say or do. She manged to find something to say "Miss.Thali is Vinny ok ....ummm well his head hurts..." she was now feeling kind of silly for stating the obvious.
She looked over at Vinny when he showed pain " ahhh maybe this isn't the best time" she looked over feeling awkward.
Gabriel was in the kitchen helping wash dishes and cleaning cookie crumbs.

Thali smiled down at Marcy, and put a hand on her head. "He'll be fine, Marcy, thanks for telling me." She said, genuinely grateful. She'd forgotten Vinny's tylonal. Luckily, the elf had taken up the habit of carrying one in her pocket. "Here Vinny, take this with your milk."
Vinny did so, reluctantly. "Thanks mom," though he didn't sound very grateful. He knew the tylonal would make him feel better in twenty or so minutes, but it never helped instantly. "Marcy, let's play another game." He said, looking to his friend, before reaching over and taking a cookie from the table. "What game would you like to play?"

Marcy smiled at Thali but she really had nothing to say. She thought seeing Vinny woudn't be so hard, and really seeing the cuts , and the swelling didn't bother her. It was seeing the emotional toll on his body that was making her uncomfortable.
"Sure Vinny" she said as she tidied up the last game. She smiled "I think we should play ....uhhh....... ummmm" she blanked for a bit. She scratched her head then saw four bright colors in her mind 'Yellow , Blue , Red , and Green' it was clear " Uno" she spurted out. Marcy loved Uno and it was fast passed game.
She sat up " Do you have the game , I could go get it for us , if you pointed me in the right place" she smiled. She really just wanted to stand up and get away from her mix emotions.
She also knew Vinny would most likly want to get the game but standing up was kind of nice. All of the sudden the cookies looked really good, she almost thought about taking a bunch of them and scarfing them down , but she grabbed one and ate it nice and slow. They where really good. " Miss.Thali there sooooo good" she said with an almost full mouth. " Thank you , thank you " she said as she swallowed.
She then turned to Vinny " Arnt they sooooo good" she smiled and giggled. Food really did make her happy. She had forgotten about the game and was now in bliss.

Thali returned Marcy's smile, but honestly, she didn't know what to say to break the silence. "Thank you for taking such good care of him for me, Marcy," she said, sounding genuinely grateful. "You're a good friend."
Vincent just happened to love Uno. A smile crossed his face. "Sure!" he said happily, taking a deck of cards off the coffee table in front of him. He had to lean forward dangerously to do so. "I'll shuffle!" He did so easily; it was one of the things he might have prided himself in if he hadn't been humility. He seperated them, and shuffled the deck.
"I have it here," he showed her with a smile. "Josh and I are always playing it, so Mom thought it'd be easier if it was here." He paused, and watched her eat the cookie. "Mom's the best cook on Gaia," he told her with a small amount of pride making it's way into his tone.

Marcy smiling and glowing " Aww geee hes a good friend also " she said as she nodded her head. She looked at one more cookie and but held back. She knew it wasn't good to binge eat. She looked over to see Vinny getting the card game.
She clapped as he shuffled the cards. She looked at him as he spoke with full eye contacted " Yes They are vary scrummages cookies.." she loved using teh word scrummages seemed soo big and important.
Gabriel by now was finishing up the last of the drying off dishes. He now needed to know where they went " Hey Thali where do you put your dishes?" he shouted in a kind tone.
Marcy looked to hear where her Dad's voice was coming from. She turned to Vinny " Thats soo like my Dad , worken worken worken" she said as he paced her cards.
In her deck she had some killer cards , unfortunately she had one of every color. She always felt it was easier when she had two colors , since it was quicker to get uno. This theory sounds nice , but really she never won a single game of uno .... sooo maybe she needed a new strategy.

"You know, you can have another cookie," Vincent suggested, seeing her look. "Mom put the whole plate there for us," and as if to prove this, he took another cookie and took a bite. "See?"
Thali smiled at Marcy, and nodded. "I know he is," she said, before glancing out to the kitchen. "Well, I better go help your Dad," she added with a grin. She couldn't let her guest do all the work, now could she? Well she could, but that wouldn't be very polite. The elf made her way to the kitchen after affectionately ruffling Vincent's hair.
"Right here," she said, glancing at Gabriel with a smile. "Let me put them away," she took them from him and put them in their proper cupboard. "You shouldn't have worked so hard. You're my guest, not the other way around," she said, flashing him a grin that showed she was grateful for his work despite her words.
Vinny smiled when he saw his deck. Good. Three blues, three yellows, one red. That would give him time to do well. "Ladies first," was his comment, as he looked to Marcy.

The tray of cookies looked mighty good but Marcy held back a bit. She wanted to wait till mid-game before scarfing one more down. She waved to Thali as she walked off. She looked down at her cards and played a green seven. " Its up to you to play the right cards now Vinny" she smiled.
She had a good feeling she could win this game , but thats the same feeling she had every game.
Gabriel smiled at Thali "I guess I have been Dad for a few years , you just get use to doing things" he chuckled. He looked around her kitchen " You really have a nice place here" he glanced at all her nice nick-nacks.
He picked up a fruit bowl and looked inside it " Do you ever ponder how the kids grow so fast?" he said into the bowl but asking Thali. He turned to her.

Vincent didn't have any greens or sevens, so he drew a card. "Your turn," he said with a smile. He didn't think he had a chance this time; though that was the feeling he got every time he played a game. "Hey Marcy? Thank you for playing with me," he said, looking up from his cards. He really did look pale; he didn't seem to be feeling very well.
Thali smiled, "I understand perfectly," she said. "It seems we never retire from that job--though I don't think I'd want to." The elf went to the fridge, and took out a pitcher of lemonade. "Would you like some?" she asked, but she poured two glasses without waiting for an answer. "I must thank you for bringing Marcy over, she really seems to have a talent making people feel better." She paused, and thought about his questions. "I suppose I haven't," she confessed. "I'm sure they wonder why they grow so slowly, though." A grin crossed her face. "Don't worry, Marcy isn't growing too fast."

The game of uno must of taken all the energy out of Vincent since his eyes shut and he started to doze off. He might of said good game to Marcy but his words slurred.
Marcy really wasn't good at uno since Vinny whooped her butt even half asleep and sore . She smiled as he snugged into the corner. She got up and put the blanket from the couch on him. He seemd to feel good now that he was sleeping. She bent down and gave him a kiss on the right cheek. He had a kind of smerk as Marcy turned away.
She walked over to kitchen. She talked with her Dad and Thali for a bit. They said there good byes.
Marcy had another amazing day with her friend Vinny.
