Akihiko watched the other, his attention working at its fullest as he tried to think, decode the boys actions and reactions. Even if he seemed clueless and innocent... even so... how could he trust a person that... he bit his lower lip maybe just as anxious and nervous as the other was. He could wait though. Those that were patient were rewarded, rewarded... -he repeated this in his head for yet another time.

The shock imprinted on the other's face was his best bet however.

"I understand that you don't know..." he trailed off, his voice fading out quivering a little. This scared him, he finally admitted to himself. This boy was causing him the kind of fear he hadn't felt in... ever since that incident. "I understand that you don't know..." he repeated. "What I don't understand is how can you not know?". He bent his body forward to cradle his head in his hands. For a moment it seemed like all the weight of the world was on his shoulders and the boy's next question made it worse. The things that boy knew and didn't know, his ability to deal with them that way... he sometimes wished he could be the same, but of course not. He just had to be the one to know and defy and know and defy and...

"Yeah. That's what they do, the less dangerous ones at least." he finally mumbled. He didn't find it pleasant to talk about it. In fact it made him nauseous... to think there were creatures that could do that kind of thing... and they said human was a cruel being... "Those are small fry, weak ones. They attach themselves to humans and drain them until they're empty then move on to the next, then the next, then the next." he sighed. "They don't pick humans..." he trailed off again. "Anyone can become a victim to them. A child, a teenager, a middle-aged husband or even an infant or the elderly." he paused again. "They don't have a mind of their own, they only have their hunger burning inside of them." he lifted his head again, hand reaching out to the table, pallid fingers curling around his cup to lift it to his lips.
-and the hand was the hand of death...

"...Until they evolve. Then things become dangerous." he underlined. "If they manage to get past the stage where they are just mindless shadows that feed on human souls they become living nightmares. Not only do they devour the souls and flesh of humans but also one another in one eternal game to become the strongest among the strong and bear the crown that signifies the world's end." he paused again. His words sounded silly, he noticed to himself. Like some sort of a twisted fairytale or maybe some ancient legend. But either way they sounded nothing like something that could happen in reality. He wouldn't blame the boy for not believing him if he just got up and left.
But then again... this was the truth and this boy was for real too... and god damn it... he, himself, was as well...
