She sat back down, eyeing criofan slightly as he admitted to wanting to get away. Maybe...maybe if they were very...very careful...they could talk about this. Perhaps get some closure, and end this thing once and for all. "Probably is the best course of action. Most logical. But I like hanging out with you. We make a good team." She quickly added on, trying to make it as casual as possible. Nothing to dramatic to make the conversation become awkward. Again.

"Not like this." Criofan offered, simply. "Not like this." How could they make a good team for anything if they were both more concerned about how nervous and queasy the other was making them. He just wanted to escape her forever; he would function much better that way without her to worry about anymore. The leprechaun looked up and thought about standing up again, but then decided to keep put for a few more moments.
"We can't even talk to each other. I saved you, somehow, and after a few seconds it was awkward stares and, "Um, so"s. We can't do this, Erylia. Let's not be stupid."

"I know." The female reached up and tucked her still soaked gold hair behind an ear. She crossed her legs, lightly frowning. This was not fun for her. And she didn't do things that weren't fun for her. It was what she was afterall. mardi gras. "I think I just want to know one thing, completely and honestly. And then I'll shake your hand and we'll go and live our own lives." this was really it. They were really going to part. Forever.

Finally. At least she was agreeing with him. Maybe that meant he could go now. Criofan was fine with Erylia going to get herself taken care of at the Healing House. Honestly, then he wouldn't have to bother with worrying about it at all. Just as he put his hands on the ground to help push himself back up to a standing position, Erylia started speaking again, and he slumped. Damn it.
...Though her proposal was fine. A few more words, and then away from her forever. That was fine with him. Criofan could deal with that momentarily. He straighted himself back up, and without raising his voice like he would a question, he simply said, "What."

"I said that I knew you didn't feel the same way." She had to know. She just had to know. "And you replied 'who said I didnt'." Best word this right. It would be the last question she'd ever make to him, after all. "Honestly, and completely, with all thought. I want to know what you meant by that. Do you love me, or don't you?" It was the most obvious answer in all of gaia. At least, she thought it was, until he had thrown that cryptic response back at her. Just one simple no was all she needed, honest and true, and she could finally go back to her life.

She was talking too much. Criofan nodded, waiting for her to get to the actual question. It was true, Criofan had said that, and he still didn't know why. He had chosen to bury the whole situation all-together, never to be thought of again. In some respects, he should have saw the question coming. The question about him loving her, that was. After all, that was what had caused the awkwardness anyway; Erylia's sobbing and admitting that she had been harboring feelings for years was something that had not only thrown Criofan for a loop, it had also left him with a lack of decent things to say. And now, it was much the same way, even if he was expecting for her to come up with that particular question to ask him.
Finally, after a few moments, he simply replied, "Do I love you? I don't know, what do you think?" Typical Criofan, to answer a question as deep as that with a convolted question of his own. He would never give a simple answer to anything unless it benefitted him. ...And while parting with her would definitely be a benefit, one last game wouldn't hurt.

she sighed. Typical Criofan. She was done with playing this worn out game with him. Slowly the female stood, carefully so she wouldn't get dizzy again. Erylia stuck her hand out towards the male, flashing a bit of a smile. "Its been fun Criofan, but I have my answer. I've got shells to pick before sunset after all." If there were any feelings to so speak of, he would have given it thought. Not answer coyly. It was time to go.

Huh, wasn't even giving him a bit of amusement. Ah well. Definitely time to head off to greener pastures. The leprechaun faerie stood up and took her hand, shaking it firmly like he was confronting a business partner of sorts, one that he was sending off to another place and another time. "Guess it wasn't meant to be," he said, simply, before letting go of her hand and turning to leave. After looking over his shoulder one last time, the leprechaun started off back to the grasses, ready to get off this depressing beach.
...Friends? Criofan had none, now. Maybe he could bother Magnus...
(( So much for that? ))

She sighed and shook his hand. "It was fun." And with that, she turned. She took one, step, two, three. Wait. The female froze and turned around. "Who said that? CRIOFAN!" She put a hand on either side of her waist, looking his backside square on. "One last heist together. One last deal. I propose a game. We date, for one month. The whole shee-bang of dates and monogomy and all that jazz. One month. At the end, in the beginning of august, you can then choose. Either me, or the key to my treasure room. To be yours forever more." It was all she had...the last thing she could do. All the presents in the room couldn't make her happy. Because, they couldn't give her love. Shinies can't buy everything. But maybe they could be used as a bribe to achieve what they couldn't get.

She was talking to him still? Damn it, he thought they were done. He had a funny prank to play on Magnus already brewing in his head. He mildly groaned and stopped in his tracks, wondering why the hell she could possibly be shouting at him now. ...Although what came out of her mouth shortly afterwards sounded interesting. When she mentioned one last heist, he turned around and crossed his arms, saying, "I'm listening."
Hm. A month of dating her, and then he could get access to all of her treasure forever. Admittedly, she had a lot of things in there. And they could all be his if he was willing to date her for just one month. A month wasn't so bad, right? A month of being a couple with Erylia, and then he could snatch her key and take everything she had ever collected, leaving her utterly broke. Criofan was always a fan of getting free things for relatively little work, even though he was always a fan of the game.
...Though this was still a game.
"Alright." Criofan walked forward, and offered his hand. "Provided you've got no spare keys to that room," he warned. The tone he was using was definitely serious. It was obvious that, like usual, he was treating their interactions a bit like a cold business deal. "If that's true, you've got yourself a deal. I'll be your... boyfriend." For now. Until August.

He took it. Of course he would. There was so much treasure, for only a month of relatively laid back work. It screamed a criofan deal. She walked towards him, careful of her speed. "Rules are simple. It is the real deal, so no flirting with other pae." Unfortunately that included her too. Her main source of entertainment. "If for any reason you can no longer date me, or I feel you are not meeting the requirements of a fit boyfriend such as frequent dates, the deal is void and we both part forever. There are no spare keys, as to ensure no one else got into my stash. And if we're in agreement..." She took hold of his hand. "You'll pick me up tomorrow sometime for our date. We begin immediately." With that, she moved onto her tiptoes, pressing her body against his almost seductively as she claimed his lips. If it was going to cost her the entire stash of her whole life...she was going to at least enjoy this month like the full mardi gras pae she was!

Criofan listened to her lay down her rules, not all that concerned about them in the first place. He only had one goal in mind now: get that treasure after tolerating Erylia for a month. The only thing he really paid attention to that she said was the fact that she did, indeed, have no spare keys--so for a month of dating her, he would probably have all the riches he could ever want, albeit for a momentary time until he began gathering more golden objects again.
He could live with that. "Alright then." If she was going to tell him exactly what to do, that made his job even easier... though he didn't know what exactly was expected from him on a date. Even when she had asked him out from the Personal Advertisements, they had still just gone exploring for more nonexistent shinies, something he was still mildly irritated with her because of. Before he could think more on it, though, she was kissing him.
The leprechaun supposed he had to go along with this, too. So, with only the treasure in mind, he wrapped an arm around her vaguely and returned the kiss.
