Demi was only half aware of Belle as the other girl got her nerve together and took the daunting leap back across the water. Her attention was focused on a large fish that was taking a cautious interest in her paddling paw. Ever so slowly, it inched forward, and the Bobtail thought it would never come near enough to strike. That is, until the Ragamuffin's rear end plunged into the water on the opposite side of the channel. Instinctively moving away from the violent vibrations in the water, the fish darted right towards Demi, and she gladly sunk her claws into it to haul it onto shore. Sitting on her rump with the fish held in all four paws, the dust cat grinned victoriously at her prey, then she heard Belle's unhappy cry from across the water and lifted her ears. With a blank expression, she blinked over at the dainty female over the head of her fish.

"Oh! You made it!" She called with a smile, completely missing the sour anger from the other girl. Getting up and hoisting her fish up and over her shoulders, Demi trotted back up the island a ways before turning back towards the dock and wiggling her haunches a little. With a breath, she took off at a run and launched herself from the edge of the artificial shoreline. She was much heavier with her catch, and so she needed more speed. She cleared the jump, but landing only on her hind legs was a little more difficult and she ended up loosing her footing and sliding sideways across the dock, both her and her fish skittering past Belle. "Oof..." She sighed, picking herself back up with drooping ears and going to retrieve her catch. "Are you sure you're not hungry, Princess?" The fish was pretty big, and Demi could share if she had to. As she turned back to the Ragamuffin, she finally took notice of her soaked dress and tail and tipped her head to the side. "Oh, I thought you didn't want to get wet..."

Belle wrapped her thin fragile fingers around her soaked tail and dragged them from the base to the tip, wringing out the excess water. Her eyes darted towards the American Bobtail with a slight bit of annoyance. It wasn't because she disliked the cat, she was just upset at the carelessness. Did she not see that the little Ragamuffin was just submerged half way in this icky water. Where the fish do their business and eat and practically live in their own filth. However, the small complication that Demi had while flying over to the dock and landing caused a slight perk of concern to rise in the fluffy kitten.

However, once she found her friend to be fine she crossed her arms and huffed, sitting on her rear and looking down at her wet legs. "I didn't want to get wet. This was an accident..." She wanted to play Demi for what had happened but how could she? It's not like she pushed her in. Besides, she couldn't get all furious after the nice girl offered her some of the fish. Well, it wasn't a direct offer but she still had a hint that she would share. "I... I am awfully hungry. But, I'm all wet. I just... can we take it somewhere more... dry?" She stood and stared at the kitty cat with the large fish in her arms.

Demi flicked her ears at the hint of anger in her friend's voice, and realized that getting wet had been an accident. Apparently her game of teasing the girl and getting her dirty wasn't going over well. Demi let her ears fall back in apology and gave a slight nod to the dainty girl. "Sure, I've gotten what we came for," She mewed softly, tentatively walking back to the Ragamuffin's side, "Do you want to go to the park to eat?

The idea of carrying the fresh, dripping fish so far didn't exactly thrill the Bobtail, but she would do it if her friend preferred. As she stood there, Demi contemplated offering her arm to the girl again, as they had walked before, but with the fish dangling across the back of her shoulders, the didn't figure Belle would be too interested in taking the offer. "Well, let's just get out of here, then we can decide." She said, finally, walking away from the other girl's side again, "Come on, you remember the way out, right?" She smiled at the Ragamuffin and waited for her to join before continuing out of the large, open doors.

Belle looked up at the Bobtail with upset eyes but they slowly melted into a show of regret. She was beginning to feel regret for the anger she had displayed. To show that she wasn't angry anymore she stood up, clasping her hands in front of her like a shy little girl and laying her ears back slightly. "Okay, well... isn't the park quite a ways from here? I mean... you went through all the trouble of catching it. I shouldn't be the one who decides where we eat it." She was trying to show as much composure and politeness to the girl as possible because she did happen to be her only true friend.

Belle was quickly clip clopping behind the younger girl with the fish over her shoulder, clip clopping her way with her heels. She managed to catch up and put a hand on the shoulder that wasn't supporting the dead and disgusting fish. Sure, she wasn't about to touch that thing, but Demi's shoulder looked clean from what she could tell, right? "I being serious, though, Demi... if you're hungry we can eat here, or some place nearby. I'm sort of starving myself..." She spoke in soft words. Words that were sure to make up for her upset and rather brat-ish mood earlier.

Demi smiled at the fluffy cat and gave a light-hearted sigh at her meeker behavior. "Don't worry about it too much, we can find a quiet place nearby to eat." She mewed, pushing forward through the winding hallways, she glanced back with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "It's probably better that we don't get caught eating here anyway." The large fish bounced a bit on her shoulder as she walked; it was heavy, but Demi would be able to handle it.

Back at the place where they entered the Namiko Aquarium, the Bobtail paused and looked around before bounding over to a high fence and taking a large leap at it. She swung the fish up with one hand and caught herself on the edge of the wall with the other before pulling herself up completely. "come on Princess, I know of a quiet street over this way... I think there's a bench we could sit under as well." She called down to Belle, smiling excitedly again.

Belle gave a slow nod as she continued to follow the girl out of this large display of fish tanks. Belle was extremely tired, and overwhelmed with today's activities. She couldn't remember a time when she was so drained. Of course, she spent all of her days inside of a house, where nothing ever happened. Well, nothing quite like this ever happened, that's for sure.

When they reached this wall she watched Demi lift herself quickly. Obviously, this girl had a lot more muscle and balance than she did. Heck, she could hardly make it over to the dock again. She wasn't good at this athletic stuff. She took a few paces back before running up daintily. Yes, like a proper little lady would. With her worry of composure and the heels making her a bit slower she hardly ended up jumping. "Oh darn it!" she shouted at herself. That wasn't nearly enough to get up. "Here, hold these for me." She took off her strapped heels and tossed them up to Demi.

Now, with the freedom of her feet being able to lay flat against the ground she could be a lot more agile. Going much further back than needed she looked at the wall with determination. The Ragamuffin's tail swayed slightly before breaking out into a run, not an impressive one, but it was the best Belle could do. She jumped when the time seemed right and this ended up launching her up the all, reaching out and grabbing to the ledge as she kicked herself up the all. Soon, she was laying down near the edge, just breathing hard from the excitement and worry of making it up this wall. "That was pathetic..."

Demi watched with amused excitement as Belle made her first attempt at the wall. Right away, the bobtail could tell that she hadn't picked up enough speed nor was she in the right position to scale it. Stifling a giggle at the fluffy cat's frustrated yowl, the bobtail scrambled to catch the strappy shoes that were tossed her way, and held them for Belle, watching with intrigued interest at her second go. "Alright, you made it!" She yowled with triumph for the other cat and patted her shoulder approvingly, "Not bad, Princess! There's hope for you yet!"

Snickering, Demi laid the Ragamuffin's shoes before her on the wall and turned to heft the fish back over her shoulder. "Let's go, this thing's starting to get sticky..." Even she had to adopt a look of disgust at the feeling. Slimy, sticky fish scales were a pain to get out of your fur and off your clothes after all. Not that her current attire was worth fussing over anyway. Demi glanced down at her torn, ragged blouse and skirt combo and made a face to herself; she really needed to go out and find a new outfit...

Belle brushed the bangs from her face lazily as she just rested on her back for a few moments. "Y-ya... thank you, Spunky. I just... whoo, that took a lot of running." Sadly, it hardly took any running at all. The elegant fluffy ball of fur was so out of shape, but it's not like she was grossly fat or skinny. Luckily, she was blessed with a naturally attractive body, not that she ever took time to go on and on about how gorgeous she thought she was. Well, most the time.

"Oh gosh... that's really quite nasty. We should hurry then." She sat up and began strapping on her pretty little heels, noticing a scratch in the side of one from when she had tossed it up. It was the price to pay though. She let her eyes give a sorrowful stare before continuing to strap it on. Of course, Demi wouldn't want to hear about her trouble. Well, not if it was a freaking shoe. "Okay, ready. I do hope there are no other walls we have to leap over." She clip clopped over to Demi, the bell on her ribbon jingling lightly. The entire time they were walking she had to keep asking 'are we almost there? My feet hurt. How much longer? How about here? I'm tired. I'm hungry. Blah blah blah.' So many questions that Belle wanted answered.

Demi tilted one ear back as the two of them pattered along the wall; she was only half interested in the complaints of the other female. Inwardly, the dappled cat sighed to herself, for there was still so much the Ragamuffin had to get used to out here. Not much farther ahead, the wall veered off to the left, and on the right a row of leafy trees lined a large, quiet road. True to what Demi had said earlier a couple small benches rested at either side of it, shaded nicely by the trees. Hopping down off the wall again, the Bobtail lifted her ears and gazed at the sight with contentment. On the ground, she turned to look up at the Ragamuffin again. "Do you need help getting down?" Her tone was curious after watching the display it took to get the fluffy cat on the wall in the first place.

Demi bounded over to the nearest bench and flopped the fish down beneath it, taking a moment to nudge it further under the wooden seat with her toe, before bouncing back over to the wall, ready with both hands should her friend actually need her.

Belle bit her tongue to keep quiet after Demi was clearly ignoring her. She didn't blame the rebellious looking cat but she was a bit hurt. Suddenly, she saw a little area scattered with benches and it occurred to her that maybe the bobtail didn't answer her because she knew that the fluffy tailed girl would see for herself soon enough, and she definitely had. "Mmm, I can't wait to eat," she told Demi with a soft laugh following but when the younger girl jumped down from the tall wall and placed the fish in a secure area she gave a nod to her previous question. Of course, Belle would definitely need help. She liked people assisting her, even if it wasn't needed at times.

Sitting on the ledge, to get lower to the ground, she slid off, hands reaching out for Demi's hands as she approached the ground quickly. Her dress fluttering as the air ruffled it. Landing right in front of Demi, the only issue that seemed to come up was her heels. She felt her ankle tilt and she was going down more than she would have liked. Grasping onto the Bobtails hands she managed to keep herself off her knees luckily and quickly stabled herself out. She glanced up at Demi with embarrassment and spoke softly, "Thank you. If you hadn't helped me I would have landed on my precious face." A humorous giggle erupted from the girl as she let go of one of the younger girl's hands and walked with the other one in her grasp, over to the bench. "Now we can eat." Belle was lucky to have found such an awesome friend.

Demi nodded in response and held her arms up and out to catch the dainty girl. An amused grin spread across her face at the way the other carefully lowered herself before jumping, but she clasped both hands in her own. Muscles tightened as she took in the shock of the ragamuffin's fall, and she held fast as Belle's ankle threatened to give on her. Finally, when she could stand on her own two feet again, Demi giggled and let go of one hand, leading her over to the fish happily. Her stomach rumbled when she tugged the fish out from under the bench and sat down with it. "Itadakimasu! Let's eat!" She yowled cheerfully, clapping her hands together once and bowing her head to the dead seafood before beaming back up at Belle to join her. Claws slid out of their concealed pads and she ripped into the rubbery flesh of the fish, grabbing it and biting into it eagerly.

After sitting herself down in front of the slightly dirty looking fish she wrinkled her nose, but the growl of her stomach caused her to snap out of her picky self. She would have to tough up if she was expected to survive under these circumstances. "Y-ya... I guess we should before it gets-" but the little Ragamuffin was cut off by a pure gasp of shock. This little kitten was already claws deep in the fish and tearing at the meat. She tried not to stare and just dig in already, much like her friend, but maybe a bit neater. She reached out and began to feast on the other half of the food, trying not to eat more than her share.

After a while, all that was left were bones and the two kittens were very satisfied, or at least Belle was. She had never gorged herself before. There were usually only small helpings of food at a time back at home. "Mmm, my goodness that was good!" She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand once she was all finished and just stared at Demi with a happy face. She managed to peek out under the bench a little more to take noticed of how late it was getting. She had spent all afternoon with this kitty cat and now she was drained. All she wanted to do was curl up and take a long nap. With a large stretch and a sleepy yawn she laid back on the ground and sighed, "Demi... can you walk me home? I think I wanna go to sleep. Oh! Maybe you could spend the night?!" She was slightly forgetting the fact that her humans weren't home, but still, the offer was kindhearted.

Demi, stuffed full of fish, was in the process of cleaning her paws and whiskers when she perked at Belle's words. Licking the tiny pieces of flesh snagged in between her claws away, the bobtail grinned over at her friend, pleased to see that she had enjoyed it. Stifling a yawn herself, the tail-less cat got to her paws and brushed the dust from her already dirty clothes and tipped her head to the side with a playful grin playing at her lips. "Ah, so I'm invited back to the territory I trespassed before?" Giggling, Demi held her hand out to the Ragamuffin to help her back up, "Sure, Princess, I'll walk you home." She wasn't about to refuse a nice, safe place to sleep for the night. "Just don't expect me to go crawling into some human's home, kay?" She added, her tongue poking out of the ever-present grin.

Belle was so ecstatic that she wouldn't be alone tonight. She needed some kind of company, but sadly she was still forgetting the fact that the house was well sealed up and nobody was home to let her in. They'd figure something out. "Heh, you're such a smarty pants." She told the kitten as she pulled herself up to her feet with the help of the lovely yet wild girl. Linking their arms in a very delicate and girlie way she walked them out from under the bench, just leaving the horrible rotting bones where they rested. "You're going to love my place. It's so lovely insi-" however, when she was about to tell Demi about the inside of the place it finally hit her.

There was no getting back inside without her humans there. "Uh... w-well... it's got a nice porch... a very nice porch... Um..." she was embarrassed to say that they might have to stay outside tonight but she was determined that her masters would come home. Heck, maybe they were already home. "Come on, we'll see when we get there." They began to walk side by side as if they had been friends for most of their life. It wouldn't be long before they were there but some nice chit chat would fill in the silence. "So, Demi... do you know many stray- well, is that what you prefer to be called? Stray cats?" She tilted her head as she clip clopped in her heels down the sidewalk. Already they were in a quiet neighborhood.

Demi was amused by the Ragamuffin as she became flustered over the situation of her home, but she rolled her eyes and let her ears flop to the sides all the same. "Porch, grass, bench, rock... It's all the same to me, Princess." The tail-less girl began, explaining gently and carefully, "I sleep outside every night, and to be honest, I prefer it that way!" Laughing lightly, she squeezed the fluffy cat's arm and marched onward. With a slight tilt of her head, she put a finger to her chin and added, "I won't lie to you, though. Your home is nice, and it's safer than most places I sleep. So... I'm grateful for the offer!"

As they entered the quiet neighborhood, Demi was already feeling more at ease. She was a little surprised by Belle's tentative question, but grinned all the same. "A title... let's see... I think I prefer to be called a 'street cat,' it just sounds cooler than 'stray.' And being that I never really had a home and a human family, it sort of fits better." She hadn't realized that Belle, knowing nothing about where she came from, might not get the distinction, but continued anyway, thinking of all the cats she had met, "As far as other street cats goes... well, there seem to be a lot around town. I've met around 8 or so already... but most were just in passing." As if confirming that for herself, Demi mentally counted them off on her fingers.
