I hadn't heard about any of this. Is this going to mean it's going to make travel to Japan difficult?

I am personally opposed to a one-world currency.

I feel that our differences are part of what make us special. Money carries images of our past and messages of what we feel is most important. I think that taking that away is like taking away our heritage. I will grant you that it would be nice to talk to my sister in Korea and be able to understand how much money she just spent, though!

@ DiDiW: Korea currency is 1000:1. So, one dollar in america is 1000 dollars in Korea. And stuff there is cheaper too. OH, and they make the best authentic fake jerseys you'll ever find, if you wanted something like that.
News I just found out: Legendary infomercial king Billy Mays found dead at his home in Tampa. I can't get to a link, but would appreciate someone posting it for me.

This sounds bad, but I couldn't have cared less about MJ and Farrah, because I only heard bad stuff about the first and NOTHING about the second, at all. But Billy Mays was a staple of my commercial watching! *sobsob*

lol A global currency will fix nothing. There would be a seriously struggle to streamline wages vs. cost of living resulting either in massive revolt by the people or global communism.
The best solution for this failing economy?
The first solution is easy: World War III (with nuclear weapons it would solve the world's overpopulation).
A more peaceful, but difficult solution requires reworking our countries economics. Telling people to suck it up and take a slight pay cut, while at the same time lowering the costs for everything (especially food and gasoline) even further than the pay cut will start putting more money into circulation (we make up how much money is worth anyway since we don't have a gold standard anymore). In order to keep the country from financially imploding, the government would have to require major distributors (clothing, cars, even toys) to move their manufacturing plants back to the states. This would ensure more jobs and start bringing money back into the country.
Quite frankly, I'm sick of reading "Made in China".

BTW, Billy Mays didn't die. Chuck Norris killed him for stealing his beard.
