"I might just do that," she replied with a smile, looking back at the stream thoughtfully. "Sounds like it could be fun. Provided I don't trip and fall in of course." The mare had always had a terrible bout of klutziness about her. "So, did you come to this stream because you were thirsty, or did you just happen upon it in your wanderings? Either way, feel free to drink and relax for a bit if you would like. It's quite refreshing."

Kratos chuckled softly. "Well, if you tripped and fell in that might make it all the more interesting. Though I guess it wouldn't exactly be a good thing if it was cold out." His attention turned to the stream. Ah, river stones! He loved those. Smiling softly to himself, he watched the way the dappled light danced off the perfectly smooth surfaces. Why was that? The most beautiful things were always the most simple, and few ever took the time to see. He took a careful step toward the edge of the water. "... just wandering..."

Nalani watched thoughtfully as Kratos stepped closer to the water's edge. A smile slowly made it's way upon her muzzle as her slightly mischievous side began to take over. "I see..." she replied, also stepping closer to the water. Without warning, the mare jumped on in, sending a giant splash the stallion's way. She couldn't help but giggle. "Whoopsie~."

Head bowed, Kratos caught the spray full in the face. Uttering a soft cry, he scrambled back, eyes wide. The water attacked! He watched it ripple and coalesce, and as it settled, the truth of the matter dawned on him. "Hey!" Smiling awkwardly, he moved for the water's edge and stepped in, hindquarters still on land. He dragged a forehoof through the water, then pushed, sending a pathetically miniscule wave her direction. But that's what she'd done, right? He glanced down in confusion. Maybe he was doing it wrong?

The mare couldn't help but giggle at the feeble wave he had made. "Not like that, silly. Like this!" To demonstrate, she stood back on her rear legs and came crashing back down into the water with her front hooves, creating another huge splash. "You have to put your weight into it."

Kratos watched her curiously, then shied suddenly away from the blast zone. As the waters settled, he surged forward. "Like-," he said as he reared back, wings fanning out from habit, "-this?" He came down hard, sending a wall of water in Nalani's direction.

Nalani squealed and laughed as the wall of water hit her. "Yup, that's it!" she replied happily, beaming as she sent another smaller splash his way. "Ah, this feels so good!" A great way to cool down and have some fun.

Kratos grinned softly, raising a foreleg as though to defend himself from the newest onslaught. With a grin, he came forward and nipped at her ears. "Bet you can't catch me..." Without giving her time to respond, he pivoted and moved toward the trees.

Nalani felt some heat rise to her cheeks when Kratos nipped at her ears. Happy that he seemed to finally be relaxing around her though, she smiled and took off after him. "Hey, no fair! You caught me off guard!" The mare wove her ways through the trees with ease, giving chase to her new friend. At least she had the home field advantage.

The stallion laughed, then fell silent as the forest swallowed him. An instant later, he was gone, as though the still air had plucked him up. His hoofprints, likewise came to a sudden end.

The mare came to a sudden and confused halt when the red and white stallion dissapeared. "Kratos?" Nalani called out tentatively, stepping forward again and looking about for him. She couldn't even hear his hoof fall anymore. "Kratos, are you there?"

A pristine feather glided down, settling on the mare's nose. A big white head appeared from the foliage just behind Nalani. With a soft grin, Kratos drew a deep breath. "Boo!"

Before Nalani's mind had time to register what the feather meant, she found herself practically jumping out of her skin at loud noise from behind. The mare squealed and darted out of the way instinctively, immediately slowly herself down once she realized that it was just Kratos. "Sheesh, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" she scolded playfully, a small giggle escaping her lips. "I thought you were a predator or something."

Favoring her with a smile, Kratos shook his fiery mane. "No predators here. Well, I guess. Unless you ask the trees or the flowers. They might have a different story." Smiling, he moved around her side, tail flicking as he glanced back at her. "You're strong, Nalani. Any Kirin just out of its shell could see that. There isn't much in this forest I imagine you have to worry about."

The mare chuckled a bit nervously, eyes glancing off to the side. "Oh, I would beg to differ." Strong though she may be, the memory of the cat attack from her youth remained fresh in her mind. True, she could probably fight off one on her own, but if she were to be attacked by a group of them while on her own... Well, that's where fast running came in handy. "I hadn't ever really thought that about plants though. Do you think they actually feel when we eat them?" Nalani asked, tilting her head in curiosity of the thought.
