Magni Prime Having seen the film a second time, I did not gain much more insight. I still loathe the bit about Hatchilings. I mean, they spend the film calling humans insects, and then do this? No. I call Bayformer B.S.As for Megatron: I was okay with his return, and was very VERY glad he had actual lines. His and Starscream's interactions were in this film, what I wanted to see in the last one. Espically at the end where Starscream cautiously explains that cowards do survive. THAT was made of win. Personally, I was very fond of the gang-up on prime and backstab Megs performed. That was classic Megatron. In fact, the forest battle was one of the major highlights of the whole film! The twins . . . ugh, the controversial twins . . . I read an article saying that they are racist against blacks because they take the caricatures of African Americans and make it alright because they are 'just robots.' That is to say nothing of the fact that one of the twins was voiced by Spongebob! The second run-through I have to admit they were not nearly as annoying. Perhaps because I knew what to expect? Whatever the reason I was able to smile a bit at them. Other TFs: Ironhide got a few lines in, and was alright. Arcee got kinda shafted with only being there for a few bits but at least got two lines in. Sideswipe was given about as much character as Ironhide from the first film: Bad, and looking for a fight. Still, he was alright. I do feel bad for Ratchet, though. Two films and still only fodder for the background. The real shame is Jolt. He has NO lines, is not seen in any major capacity (if any) in battle, and yet was the one to transpose Jetfire's new corpse onto Prime. Kind of instrumental to that last battle . . .I seriously didn't understand that.

What didn't you get? I thought it was fairly logical and explained itself well on each point.

The whole "hatchling" thing didn't bug me too much. Just replace the word "hatchlings" with the word "protoforms" and it works just fine. I'm guessing that's what it was originally supposed to be but got dumbed down for some reason at some point in the scripting process.

It is a pity . . . Jolt had no lines. He was visible during the scene where the U.S. Government turned on the remaining Autobots- though I only noticed him due to the arcing electricity in his hands. Of course, he was visible and called on by name in the final sequence to electrify Jetfire's new corpse so that it could transpose onto Prime.

*growls* I've been waiting 18 frickin months to see this.. and it was utter sh@@. The rant is below in white.
- The plot sucked. You all know it. - Most of the lines were totally cheesy/retarded. ex. "It's time you pull over." "Damn, I'm good." - Soundwave: The satellite with a talking head! *sarcastic spirit fingers* - "One Decepticon, I rode through three states wearing his face as a mask!" That doesn't even make any frickin sense! - The humping-Wheelie, Simmons' man thong *gags*, the lovey-dovey crap between Sam and Mikaela.. unneeded. - Reusing scenes/animation from the first movie? Seriously, MBay?! - Bumblebee can talk at the end of the first movie, but not at all during the second?! Oh well, his radio-talk is kinda cute. :3 - All the new Transformers pretty much just shot at stuff during the movie with the occasional pained yelp. Poor Jolt never even said one word. - Can someone tell me who the hell were those random Decepticon protoforms fighting in Egypt? - And lastly, why must MBay always spin the camera around and around and around every time someone transforms? I started getting dizzy in the IMAX theater.
And now for [the few] good things.
- The scene with Starscream, Megatron, and the Fallen on Cybertron. Pure awesome. - Animation: f@@@in' amazing. - Bumblebee bashing the twins together and throwing them out the door. THANK YOU, Bee. - The fight scenes were pretty cool.
I'm done for now. The movie definitely disappointed me, but I'll still watch it multiple times just for the animation... and Bumblebee. mrgreen

My question is,
why didn't the cube have that effect on Sam in the first movie, then all of a sudden, the shard does all that weird stuff to him?
Other than that I thought it was...Well. I'll just say it definately outshined the first one by ten miles. I'll give it that.

Ia answer to all size complaints; Soundwave turns into a cassette player in G1. Scale means NOTHING. I rather liked the movie. While it DEFINETLY could have used more character developement on the part of the Transformers (get the humans off the SCREEN) it was still pretty well done. I believe that a lot of plot wholes and want for character improvement can be answered by reading the comics that fall between the first and second movies. I found that adding the comics made it much more satisfying as far as the plot goes.
Especially since BB could talk at the end of the last movie, then couldn't again in this one. The comics explain why that is. Just like Megatron choked him the first time, he got choked again in a D'con battle, and it screwed his voice up again. stare I like no talking BB, he's less anoying and more cute that way.
Also, Ravage. Ravage was AWESOME. He diployed from soundwave and everything biggrin his death made me sad though. Speaking of death, yes, they ressurect and kill Optimus and Megatron over and over and over. They've done it since the DAWN of transformers. Why should we complaing NOW?
I hated the first movie, but this one really surprised me. It was pretty good as far as plot, dialog, and such went. And it was FREAKING STUNNING visually. IMAX for the win.

personally i thought it was pretty good, more decepticon time anyway, especially Starscream, the visual was ok except when doing very fast fighting, like when optimus the fallen and megatron fought, the graphics looked so damn cheezy. really it was good as LONG as u think of it as a totally different story, not G1, and others

Well, after reading all the posts from you guys I figured it's time for me to say something about this movie. Some of the paragraphs are in white due to some spoilage.
The movie was ok to me, but I liked the first one better. It was pretty entertaining and the twins were quite funny at times, but in terms of coolness and badass, they are inferior to Jazz cool The twins remind me a bit of a deformed Johnny #5 from Short Circuit.
What I don't really get is the fact that only the guys in this thread seem to complain about the balls jokes. What if the jokes were about the female genitals? I sure wouldn't hear you guys complain. =P
That being said I too agree that the ball jokes and humping are totally redundant. They could have left those out and I would still enjoy the movie. After all, we came to see robots kicking a** and not to see/hear overused sexual jokes.
But anyhow, I think Bay made that movie like this so he would cater to a larger audience and if I look at the revenue, I gotta say that this movie pulled that off quite well. It doesn't really surprise me that the die-hard TF fans were disappointed because they had completely different expectations than I had. If Bay made the movie's storyline more loyal to the TF universe, it could have set off a lot of people and turn the profit into a possible loss. The last thing a director would want, is to make a loss.
But I was going to see the movie again because a lot of things slipped my attention.
