Lumina moves in on Phoenix only to be struck back by the incoming uppercut. Lumina staggers back holding her jaw, her body slightly turned so that her left side was facing Phoenix.

Phoenixfire saw an opportunity to redeem herself in this match,and if she wanted to capitalize on this opportunity, she'd have to move fast. She grabbed Lumina's arm and tried to drape it over her shoulders as she hooked her leg around Lumina's ankle in hopes to execute a Russian Leg Sweep.

Lumina exposed herself at the wrong time as she is taken to the mat with the leg sweep. She turns onto her side and holds the back of her head.

Phoenix rolled away after executing the Russian Leg Sweep and took a couple steps back to give thought to her next move. It would have to be something good and something to start bringing this match up to the next level. Phoenix took a deep breath before running and bouncing herself off of the ropes and going for a Knee Drop.

Lumina tilts her head to see Phoenix jumping up. She wasn't able to move away in time and is struck by the knee drop. Lumina kicks the mat and turns over onto her front holding her head. Lumina now starts to stand back up, still holding her forehead.

Phoenixfire felt a sense of pride that she'd been able to make those small steps towards having the upperhand in the match. She rolled away from Lumina after having successfully executed her previous move before getting to her feet, awaiting her opponent's next move. There her rival was, rising from the mat slowly with her hands to her face. It was in that moment Phoenix set out in sprint, intent on going for a spear to Lumina's torso.

Lumina turns around into the spear, being struck in the gut, then taken down to the mat.

The roar of the crowd almost seemed to be in the background to Phoenix as she worked this match. She'd begun a sharp ride to having the upper hand in the match and she couldn't say she didn't like it; it was one of the best matches she'd had in ages! Phoenix arose from the mat momentarily after successfully executed the spear and decided that it would be best to go for the pin.

The ref and the crowd count simultaneously, "1...2...." However in the long two count Lumina raises her shoulder just in time to break the count.

Phoenix quickly moved away from where Lumina was on the mat with a frustrated look on her face. This was so aggravating, especially after putting forth all that effort for her to kick out at the two-count. Oh well, she thought to herself. Phoenixfire retreated to the ropes to give Lumina a chance to regain her strength and offer up some resistance.

Lumina begins to stand up. Pain travels throughout her body but she still feels capable of fighting on.

Phoenixfire slowly departed from her place at the ropes and approached Lumina. She went to grab Lumina's wrist and hoped that she could Irish Whip her opponent into the ropes.

Lumina is whipped into the ropes and bounces back. Upon her return she attempts to wrap around Phoenix and go for a school boy roll up.

Phoenixfire was shocked to find herself being pulled into a school boy roll up. It wasn't something she had expected after exerting such effort into trying to mount an offensive...but here she was anyways, on her back and caught in the roll up. She was doubtful there even was a way to break the pin, but she'd have to give it a shot. Phoenix took a ragged breath and began to fight with all her might to raise her shoulder from the mat.
1...2...2½
Phoenix released a small sigh of relief after hearing the referee stop the count. Now she just had to make her way back from getting sucked into this move and make this match nothing less than extraordinary.

Lumina was a little upset she couldn't pull off the victory but she didn't let it bother her long as she tries to keep her focus on the match. She attempts to strike Phoenix with a forearm smash so she could try to take control and drag her over to a turnbuckle.
