Fish Bones turns with Cold-Blood, a bit awkwardly at first. "This way." He mutters past the shell, steering them in the propper direction to the stream.

She allows him to guide them along. They walk together wihtout too much difficulty for a while, and most of the way is, in fact, uphill for them. Atleast on the way back it'll be downhill, in case the shell gets heavy...

Coming to the stream, Fish Bones lowers his side of the shell. Then walks along the back, looking for a spot to easily fill it.

When they approach the stream, she gives Fish Bones a moment, and then nudges him a few strides to his left where there is a slightly softer decline in the bank. She leads him down that and steps out into the water with her front hooves to have better access to the water.

Fish Bones follows her, stepping all the way into the water. The full shell would most likely be hard to get up, especially if they were too close together. Using his nose, Fish Bones pushes the edge of the shell under, watching the water swirl up and over to fill it.

She calmly watched the water fill the shell, spilling into it as a spiral, until it was almost completely full. She tilted the shell back up to stop any more water flowing into it and readied herself to lift. She took a great effort to do so, but it was rather heavy and probably more of a burden than anything. She stood up all the way, had them turn and place it on the edge of the stream. Giving it a glare, she turned to Fish Bones and said, "What do you think?"

As Cold-Blood lifts the shell, Fish Bones grasps the edge between his teeth, reading himself to move it. Following her lead, he sets it back down, studying it. "It should be okay, not much heavier then lugging it full of fruit." Repositioning himself so the shell is more evenly between them, Fish Bones leans down, again taking the rim between teeth. "Ready?" He mumbles, watching her so as to not be caught off guard when she lifts.

She nods once and murmurs, "Right," before she lowers her head and grasps her end of the shell firmly between her teeth. Locking eyes with the buck, she begins to lift it and then maneouvers her way away from the stream, leading them back towards his pond. This isn't too bad. A little awkward... but doable. She turns her attention back to her feet, to make sure she only stepped on solid ground.
Upon making it back to his pond, she locked eyes with Fish Bones once more, and began to lower the shell.

During the walk back, Fish Bones keeps on eye on the ground, and the other on the shell. Well not just the shell, he does keep steeling glances at Cold-Blood. Lowering his head, Fish Bones watches the water splash out of the shell. It pools for a moment, before the ground underneath starts to slowly suck it in. Watching the water slowly disappear, he give a small sigh. "Either we'll have to divert the stream, or wait until the rains have thoroughly soaked the ground." He looks up then, watching Cold-Blood, trying to gauge her reactions.

"Oh my!" She exclaims as the water seeps into the ground. Well... that didn't work. She lowers her head to take a closer look at the pond, for no real reason. A frown covers her muzzle, at the pond, but she responds, "If we let enough water in here, I'm sure it will eventually stay. The stream's a rather large one, it shouldn't have any problems with us diverting it." She stops a moment, and then continues, "Anyways, we can dig it out, and then dam it so it can be reopened when the sun dries some of the water up again on the hot days." She looks up at him and smiles, "Let's find some dig-worthy sticks, then."

With a nod, Fish Bones heads to the edges of the clearing, where sticks and logs of varying sizes are littered about. Finding one of the right length and thickness, he lifts it up, pushing one end against the ground to test its strength. It bows some, but does not snap, so he gives it a flick, sending it to land a few feet away. Seeing another suitable candidate, he picks it up as well, giving it the same test. This one snaps though, so he drops the pieces and continues his search. After a few minutes of searching, testing, and a few more breaks, Fish Bones has gathered a small pile of sturdy sticks. "Think we'll need more then these?" He asks, trying to calculate how long each one will last.

She stands at the edge of his pond, just looking at it, seemingly deep in thought. Upon realizing she was zoned out, she throws her head over her shoulder and looks over to where Fish Bones is testing sticks out.
Fling!
She smiles as she watches him give all his candidates the same treatment, and forgets to stop smirking when he looks over at her and asks her a question. Quick to recover, she dulls down her smile to something a little more manageable, she answers, "No, I think that should be fine!"
And so she walks upto his little pile of 'winners' and takes a few of them in her mouth, before turning back towards where they had crossed the stream earlier.

Fish Bones catches her smile out of the corner of his eye. When he focuses his attention fully on Cold-Blood, though, her smile isn't as big, so he figures he'd imagined it. Shaking his head, he grabs some sticks and walks after her.

She makes her way to the edge of the stream and stops when she finds the place they were earlier. Pacing up and down this little strip a few times, Cold-Blood hums to herself a little bit. She's in a good mood, despite all of the kinks in their project.
"Here looks good," and without waiting for him, she drops her pile of sticks, and picks up just one. She begins to scratch out a trail for the water to flow through, but she starts this about a foot from the actual water line, and so explains herself, "We can scratch out that last bit once we have the rest of this done. This way the water isn't attempting to flow over everything we're working on before it's done."

Dropping his pile near her's, Fish Bones takes up a stick. After hearing Cold-Blood's explanation, he starts to scratch at the ground. After digging out a small stretch, he hits a rock. Fish Bones spends the next few minutes digging around it, glad to see it is not overly large. After unearthing it, he tries to roll it out of the way. It won't budge, though, so he abandons it to go looking for a smaller rock.
