Sara followed behind Varnis. She had no family or hut to save so she might as well help him."Whats your name so I don't call you something else? It's good to know a comrade's name, especially when they helped you. By the way it's Sara."

Mia flew over head in eagle form, with her sword hooked on to her belt on her back. She saw the flames ravaging through the village bellow. " So much violence, how can they fight like this. The peace was lost long ago, will it ever be found again."

Continuing, he heard Sara talking as she followed behind him. He didn't hear much as he was worried on trying to get to Markis' hut, but he did hear just enough to know what she was saying. "My name is Varnis." He said turning back to see where she was behind him as he slowed down a fast paced walk arriving at the hut. "Thanks for your help out there, Sara." The blood loss was starting to make him dizzy now, and it is noticeable. Stopping at the hut, a small smile was seen on his face as the hut seemed to be barely damaged at all, and the guards where still standing around it. Leaning against the door, he took a short rest before opening it.

"And people wonder why I hate fire." Erik was talking to himself, as he often did. Traveling alone for any length of time will do that to you. "Fire was given to us humans to warm the chilly nights, and to keep the darkness of night away. But the Fire Nation used this sacred flame as a weapon of war, upsetting the gods who gave the fire to us. And so shall all burn, until nothing is left but a charred, ashen wasteland." Erik was recounting the words his father once told him. It was a story of how the gods gave the elements to man, but man then used these gifts in ways the gods did not wish. "Plus, I hate fire for what it's done to me." Erik was referring to his charred, mottled skin. Why hadn't this affliction healed yet? It had been years...Erik gazed upon what was left of the burning village. He saw an eagle flying overhead with a sword belted on. "Odd. Eagles don't fly with swords, such weight would cause them to fall out of the sky." Looking down from the hill he was sitting on, he saw a small group of humans rushing towards a hut that had been untouched by the flame. "Are they running from what they have done? Or are they running from adversaries?" Erik considered for a moment. "Regardless, I should go speak with them. If they are the ones who caused this, they shall feel the cold steel of my blade. If they are running from adversaries, then I shall aid them. Either way, I win." Erik stood up, made sure his blade was on him, and rushed off towards the hut. This was before he noticed the guards.

Sara nodded at Varnis's back. She gace him a worried look, at his pale face when stopped at the door. She decided to wait outside, it was not her hut or anyone she knew in it, she reasoned. She looked at the sky, to see an eagle, but dismissed it. She sat down next to the door and laid her head back. She started to doze some, to speed time along.

The rest of the guards that Larina's group was fighting had fallen. Larina and her last ally had been severely injured, but where intent on ending the fight now.
Charging into the tent that the squad camp leader was sitting on a oaken chair. Watching the two come in, he stood up quickly, and called for his guards, but they where not coming. Larina charged at the man with her spear pointed straight at his chest. There was nothing but silence for a few moments as the spear pierced the mans chest.
The silence was broken by a cry of pain. Not coming from the man, but from Larina. The leader managed to summon a fire ball, one with great power, with his last breath, and aimed it right at Larina's stomach. Her body flew back into a tent's pole. She held her hand over her wound for a moment before her body went limp. The guard that was with her, had started to head back to the village. With news of Larina's death, and the death of the camp leader.
Running towards Markis, Varnis was glad to see that he was fine. "The attackers are retreating." He said as he fell to one knee a few feet before where Markis was sitting.
Markis watched him for a moment before standing up and walking over to Varnis. Placing his hand on Markis' shoulder, he helped him stand up. "At Least we no longer have their threat to deal with for now. Rest, and go to the medic." Markis waved to a guard that was near, and had them help Varnis to the medic.
Heading to the door, he looked outside, and saw Sara sitting there next to the entrance, as if she was asleep. "You can come in, there's plenty of room in here." He said to her, not knowing if she heard or not.

The attackers are retreating...it seems these people are not my enemies. Erik was highly skilled in the art of stealth, he had to be to dodge armies of soldiers looking for him. Erik decided now would be a good time for him to introduce himself. "Hello there! This would be a fine evening if not for the flames consuming all. How are you?" Erik called to, well, whoever it was in front of him.

Sara looked at the man in the door. "Alright, I'll come in." She started to pull herself up, and winced at the bruises on her legs from the fights. She was nearly in the door, before the yell anyway. "No really, I hadn't noticed. The village has been attacked how do you think we are?" She said in a voice that dripped poison. She looked the man up and down and decided he was not with the flame throwers. "Come on, for the moment we are fine." She said in a calmer tone. Sara headed back for the door.

Markis looked at the man as he let Sara pass him. He wasn't sure if he should trust him or not at this moment. He didn't know who should be trusted since the village was just attacked, and no news from Larina's group had yet reached the village again.
Watching for a moment, he did not speak waiting for the man to speak that was before him. Something seemed odd about him, just the way he greated them, especially not knowing who he was, or where he came from. "Who might you be?" Markis asked him as the two guards kept their eye on the man as well.

"I am an enemy of the Fire Nation. Any nation trying to resurrect Chaos doesn't get my support, only the business end of my blade." When Erik said "Chaos" he was referring to a great creature of darkness. Erik knew that the Fire Nation had started this war to sow discord, and to provide cover for themselves as they brought Chaos back into the world. What he didn't know was why. When the four nations fall, Chaos will reign supreme once more. "My name, is you wish to know such trivial things, is Erik. Do not ask me to remove this cloak, you do not wish to see my face. Trust me."

"If I did not know such trivial things... Then how would I address you properly?" He replied as he backed up into the hut slightly. "Come in if you wish."
The guards lowered their guard and let Erik pass if he so wanted to.
Markis headed back to where he was sitting before. Getting comfortable, he looked at Erik. "So, you wish to fight against the fire nation?"
By now, people who where injured in the fight where lining the walls of the hut, waiting for more room in the medics to see them. A woman was there crying, holding a small baby in her arms with a man sitting next to her trying to comfort her. Markis watched the man and the woman for a moment, before turning his attention back to Erik. The stench of burned skin, and charred wood was in the air. The fire nation brought pain and suffering to the village, there was no doubt going to be more coming.
The woman that was with Larina had ran into a group of three fire nation soldiers. They where just a rag tag bunch, but she was no match for them. She was getting weaker by the minute, and every minute that passed, was one less minute she had to get to Markis in time. Using what she had left of her strength, she pushed them aside with a strong gust of air, before heading off towards the village with the three chasing her.

Sara stepped in and readied her blade for a quick draw. She didn't trust the man but figured inside with people to hold him if needed, questions would be answered faster. She stepped back into the shadows to a a child that was crying. "Shhhh" She said to quiet the child. 'Once he comes in I'll block the door, and he'll answer whatever we wish.' She thought to herself. (Thanks for the notice. Glad to see more ppl are joining in and moving it along.)

"Of course I hate the Fire Nation. Look at what they've done to me!" Erik lowered the hood of his cloak to reveal his permanently burnt skin. "They have robbed me of everything, of family, of home, of love...they even did this to me. That's why I'm never taking this cloak off." Erik pulled his hood back up. "I'm doing everything I can to fight back. I've killed a low ranking general of theirs. Not that he was much of a fight, the idiot never thought someone would attack from behind. Anyway, I can sense that you are not my enemy. The guards armor bears no mark of the Fire nation, and you do not stink of corruption. If you were part of the Fire Nation's army, the scent of darkness would cling to you like a parasite. But, you do not smell of corruption. In another time and place, I might even trust you, but this is a time of unease." Erik didn't relax, instead, he walked into the hut and drew his sword. "I already know that the lady over there is going to block this door. You think I'm stupid? Please. My father was the best strategist of the Air Nation. Trying to trap me is entirely ineffective." Erik wasn't talking to hear his own voice, Erik was talking to distract them while he himself blocked the doorway. "If you want answers out of me, ask, and i will tell what I know."

Sara smiled at the man. "Oh but I would never-" She cut off as she shifted to mist and moved past the man to the other side of the door. "Do that to someone who shouts his intentions to everything nearby." She put what little of her sword was bare further into it's sheathe. "But honestly please continue inside, it's more a safety problem for us than you. I mean the Fire Nation just attacked and was pushed back, we could need any help your willing to give." Sara scratched the back of her head and looked at the man.

Erik was taken aback by the woman's odd ability. "My father never taught me how to deal with things like that. Anyway, I've been tracking a general of the Fire Nation for some time now. I don't want to sound mean, but the little attack here was meant to divert me. They knew I was on the trail, and people don't live if I want them dead. The Fire Nation thinks I'm the Grim Reaper or something." Erik laughed a little. "It's fitting. They thought they had killed me years ago, but they created there worst enemy instead." Erik sat down and sheathed his blade. "Anyway, I know that the General I was tracking has a base not too close by, they attacked here in order to sneak him into the base without me getting anywhere close. I can get myself and one, maybe two, other people inside. I need some help with this, it's a covert operation that I can't pull off alone. We have plenty of time to prepare, this General has a habit of not leaving his base until it's overrun. Of course, the fool would never think of assassins sneaking in. What say you?"
