Lythias laughed at Leah's attempt to sound serious. "Eveelyn is an escape artist...dearest sister, you know how father feels about your disappearances, that's why he kept you in the dungeons...however it was that you got out this time, is a mystery, but I'm sure with the proper technique, we can surely find out.."

He squeezed tighter on her neck causing her to yelp in pain. "You would think that you would have just turned back after the botched wolf attack, but, you were never really the brightest candle in the bunch," he cracked.

"You killed Basta?!" she managed to blurt out. Basta was the wolf from earlier, her best friend whom she was meeting in the forest. Their friendship was a secret since it was forbidden. They were so careful...how was it that he knew about it? "I had to do something to slow you down, or at least show you that the world outside of the castle's safe walls was a danger, dearest, little Evelyn," Lythias replied in a mocking tone.

"Don't call me that!" she snarled.
"Oh, yes,"Jadence", is that what it is now? Or is it "Esme"? How about "Claira"?...You see sis, no matter what name you choose to go by, you still are...," he leaned in close and whispered in her ear, "My darlingest, little Evelyn."

Angry enough, she used all the strength she had to break his grasp on her neck, "I...am dead to you...," she said as she stood upright. She turned to see him on his back then added in a whisper, while flashing her teeth, "Evelyn is no more...Now run along and tell your precious father your grand news..."

He snarled and beared his teeth at her, and in an instant, he disappeared.

Jade turned to Leah, walked up to her, then unfastened her chains.

"You're welcome," she added roughly as she began to walk off into the opposite direction of the castle. She had no intention of going back, especially since that wasn't going to be the last she saw of her brother...she wanted nothing more to do with Leah since they were now even, but more so because it was for her own safety that she let Jade be, especially since her family was not the kind to that let innocent bystanders live.

Jade didn't wander to far. Realizing that Leah's sent was still in the air, she turned back. She found her sleeping under a tree and tutted in disapprovement under her breath. She didn't have the strength to get them both back to the castle, but she did have the speed to run back and steal some blankets and pillows. She returned to find her friend still sleeping peacefully under the tree. "I might as well keep an eye on her then," she says as she wraps Leah in a blanket and gently places a pillow under neck, hoping that she wouldn't be too angry at her for stealing the items when she woke up the following morning.

Jade climbed into the tree like a cat and got herself adjusted. She fell asleep with her ears perked up listening to all the sounds of the forest around them.

All the world was at peace.

Jade's ears perked up as she heard Leah's gasp, but she sensed no danger, so she didn't move. "Just a bad dream," she calmly thought to herself. "She'll be fine," she added as she sat there, hand laying comfortably on top of her stomach.

Jade heard Leah getting up and watched as she began to sleepwalk. "What is up with this chick?!" she thought feeling a twinge of irritation run through her. "Guess I better go get her before runs into a tree or something, or over the waterfall..."

Jade jumped out of the tree and chased behind Leah, making sure not to make too much noise as she followed so that she didn't wake her; she was just going to keep an eye on her, just to be sure that she was safe. After all, it isn't safe to awake a sleepwalker...

Jade looks around to see if there was some type of hidden danger that she failed to catch sense of. Nothing. "What is wrong with you?" she cries as she reaches down to help the crazy woman up.

Jade pulled her hand back, confused, and a little irritated now. She sighs then tries again, outstretching her hand for the second time, "C'mon, I won't hurt you Leah, it's me, Jade remember?" Smiling lightly at her as she said her words, trying to ease the girl's fears.

"What is she doing now??!" Jade thought feeling confused.

"Leah! Wait up!" she shouted as she ran after her to catch up.

Jade was growing more and more confused as the night went on, but she followed Leah instinctively, all the while catching the scent of something that didn't smell too friendly...
