Kari dodged the stars ((matrix style! lol jk)) but one ripped her sleeve.
"Aww, come on!" She frowned and swung her foot upwards, aiming for Cross' jaw.

Cross felt her foot connect with his face, and he leaped back, rubbing his jaw.
"Damn, that one hurt." He said, and he rushed at Kari from below, striking out with an uppercut.

A girl sat in a tree watching her two new team mates fight. Her long black hair was blowing out behind her, as her eyes followed their movements. They were pitch black, and only one was normally visible. She had a look of disinterest on her face, but she really did like watching others fight. She sighed, and jumped to the ground, silent as a cat. She remained in the shadows, still watching.

Kari felt the air whoosh out of her lungs when Cross hit her in the stomach. She stumbled back a bit and cursed, "You've been training." she smiled then grabbed three kunai's from her belt pocket and swung them at him quickly.

Cross didn't even have time to dodge, but three kunai sailed out of the trees to the left of him and knocked Kari's out of the air. He looked over to see a woman standing there, obviously a jhonin.
"Alright you two, that's enough. I don't want any of my new students dead on the first day..." She said jokingly, "Yeah, that's right, I'm your new mentor." She added, seeing Cross's dumbfounded look.

Kikyo stepped out from the shadows.
"You mean we can't kill each other?" she asked, a disappointed look on her face. Most people assumed she was psycho, mostly because she always acted like she wanted to kill people.

"No, you can't." Sakura said, looking at the third squad member.
"My name is..." She started, but Cross burst in.
"You're Sakura Haruno, student of Kakashi and Hokage Tsunade, the best medical ninja in the whole village." He said quickly, hardly able to control his respect for his new mentor. Anyone trained by a Hokage was a incredibly good ninja.

Kari watched their new mentor and teammate come over. She felt alittle embarressed that she almost killed her teammate. She was confused that their third teammate wanted to kill people already, when they haven't even had that much training, and how Cross knew so much already about their mentor.

"I kinda snuck a peek of the list of mentors when I was at the academy..." Cross said, "And then I started reading up on who was who and what they're like... He rubbed the back of his head nervously.
"Oh really?" Sakura asked, walking over to Cross.
"You must be a very good ninja to be able to sneak a look at that list. Iruka hides it in a very special drawer." She said, smiling and patting Cross on the head.
"You... You mean that?" He asked, happy that his mentor was proud of him already.

Kikyo smirked.
"I saw the list. You not only are a medic ninja, you're also freaky strong, and can figure out attack patterns fairly quick. Also taught to you by Tsuande-sama." she said, shrugging slightly, then she looked bored all over again.

"Glad my team is so well informed about me. Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about you three, so maybe we should all just get to know each other a little bit." Sakura said, sitting down by one of the trees.
Cross sat directly opposite her, thinking of what he could say.

Kikyo shrugged again, but remained standing. She leaned against a tree, and waited for someone to begin. She mostly just didn't want to go first.

Kari sat down cross-legged in between the distance of her teammates. She waited for someone to start, but since no one wanted to, she would go first.
"I'm Kari Tamaki and i skill in Genjutsu but i'm not so good at Taijutsu," she shrugged, "It just wasn't one of my strong points."

"Good to have you on the team Kari."Sakura said, looking from Kari to Cross.
"I'm Cross Mechanus, and I'm basically Kari's opposite." He said, smiling, "I'm great at Taijutsu, but my Genjutsu is weak..."
'So the squad is pretty balanced so far...' Sakura thought before looking over to Kikyo.
