Ellandra snuggled up to Faolan and rested her head on his shoulder. "Does he now?" She asked, another smile creeping across her face. Maybe. . . maybe everything really would be all right now. Then she remembered what she'd wanted to ask Ziazan, and the smile dropped. "Ziazan. . . would you......... be all right with - with .......... trying t-to see what...... damage has been done?" She didn't want the alter to do it if it upset it, but...... a part of her so deeply, truly wanted - needed - to know...

"I donnae do tha'!" Fao yelped, then at the look Zia was giving him, he sighed, "La, hinny. It be a nervous condition, alreet?"
Zia looked back at Elle, a small smile of triumph on its face. Then it got serious and nodded at her request. "I already have an idea at what I'll be finding. If it'll give you peace, I'll tell you what I know of your babies, Mama."

Ellandra giggled a little at Faolan's protest - and melted just a little from listening to his accent; had he even notice it had thickened again? Looking over at Ziazan, a serious expression on her face, Ellandra nodded softly. "It would, Ziazan. . . if I know, then . . . I'll be able to be ready by the time they come, or at least. . . m-more ready than I think I would be o-otherwise. . ." Drat those tears trying to come back again - and was that lavender she was smelling from the vardo?

Zia nodded and reached over to put a small hand on Elle's belly, closing its eyes to feel the babies growing inside her. "I thought as much. Your daughter's going to be just fine, maybe a little skinny, but healthy. Your son, though . . . " He frowned and looked up at the young couple, biting his lip. How could he tell them and have it come out delicately?

Ellandra grabbed for Faolan's hand, gripping it tightly. Ziazan hesitating could only mean bad news. 'Please please just let him be able to live. . . please. . .' She could live with nearly anything, really, as long as that baby didn't - didn't.... die...now or later on.... She watched Ziazan with wide eyes, before putting a hand on Ziazan's shoulder. "Go on, Ziazan..... i-it....... we'll be okay........"
Or so she hoped.

Zia sighed and gave a short nod. "I can't predict the future. I can only tell what's the past and present. So, for your son . . . his eyes are not developing properly. I think that illness damaged him some how. As far as I can tell, he's blind. I'm . . . I'm sorry." The Essentic looked up at them, sadness in its eyes.

Ellandra closed her eyes, going rather limp against Faolan as the tears threatened her again. Blind. . . One of her precious babies. . . . she was almost ready to try and hide from the horrible thought, from the world, from everything. . . but she couldn't do that, and she knew it. It just hurt. . . Though she did have one question - more out of curiosity than anything else. "Z-ziazan. . . h-how did. . . h-how did . . . ." A pause to choke down a few sniffles, then continuing, "H-how did.... our girl s-stay mostly.... mostly ok-okay?"

The Essentic shrugged, shaking its head. "I don't know. She just had more luck than her brother, I guess." It smiled suddenly, looking down at the woman's belly where its hand still rested, looking rather peaceful. "La . . ."

Ellandra sighed softly, opening her eyes at the content sound from the Essentic. "Hmm...? What is it, Ziazan?" She was still ...... in shock. Her son...... her little boy who she didn't even know yet............. he was never going to see.......... anything? A void? Or would he have some vision, just degraded badly? She glanced up at Faolan, wondering how he was dealing with this news.

Zia looked up at Elle, smiling. "He's suckin' his thumb. I didn't even know unborn babies could do that."
Faolan looked pensive at the news of his son's eyesight, or lack thereof. He'd keep his thoughts on it to himself so as not to worry Elle or upset her, but no one would ever be able to tell him his son's blindness was the result of anything but his fault for getting Elle and the babies sick. Still, despite that, the little one was healthy and he was still Fao's son, he'd be well-loved by his father. Both children would.
Looking up from his thoughts at Zia's comment, he smiled a bit. "I didn't know they did that, either." He rested a hand down on Elle's stomach, laying it over the Essentic's. A soft look of pride came over his face, eye half-closing. "Just him or the girl, too?"
"Just him right now, but she does it, too. I can feel that." Zia looked up at Faolan. "Why haven't you told Mama about the names you picked out yet?"

Ellandra's eyes widened as well, and she gave a little gasp. "R-really?" So soon and they already sucked their thumbs? Then Ziazan asked Faolan about names, and she blinked. "Have names picked out already, do you?"

Fao grinned a bit, hearing Elle use a little of the Farstep dialect. "Aye, wife, I had some ideas," he admitted, blushing slightly. "I mean, if you didn't have some already thought up. I kinda wanted to give them names from, well, my culture."

Ellandra, completely oblivious to her slip into a trace of the Farstep dialect, reaches up and caressed Faolan's cheeks. "Don't be embarrassed, Faolan... I'd actually been looking myself......... and," now she blushed, her face turning bright red, "I was actually looking through the books you have a few weeks ago..... I wonder if we wound up liking the same names....?"
