LuLu hovered by the bandit. Why was she putting away the toys? Those were hers! Purple, leathery wings gave an agitated flap before she jumped in front the thief's face. The rabbit frei heard the quick apology that they uttered. LuLu was conflicted. Her conscience told her that someone who said sorry was a nice person but another part of her could not ignore the fact that a person she did not like was taking her things. The raevan was about to protest when the bandit produced an unfamiliar object and threw it at her. Within seconds the small orb evolved into something completely different. The metal tentacles that shot out from its smooth surface immediately spelled danger for LuLu.
This was an attack!
The frei gave off a shrill shriek before her mouth was gagged and she fell to the floor. She saw another handful of the metallic orbs fly past her and towards her guardian. LuLu tried to voice a warning but her words could not make it past the obstruction in her mouth. She heard a cry, a distinctly masculine one, then a thunk as another person dropped to the ground. Josh was captured too.
After that, there was a swarm of noises. Bangs, explosions, feet stomping, screams, and yelling. It was a sensory overload for the young raevan and she wanted it to stop. LuLu curled up against the tile floor. It was covered in dust and debris from the bandit's getaway; however, it provided a sanctuary where she silently pleaded that this would all end.
The commotion soon quieted down as the police officers and security trailed after the bandit. Her prayers were answered.
