Kat nodded and gave Adrian an encouraging smile. "I'm sure she'll come around." Inwardly, she let out a sigh of relief that he hadn't asked about her parents - it was still a bit of a touchy subject. She went to a storage closet off the side of the gym and started pulling out hula hoops and a bag of styrofoam balls. After she slung the bag over her back, she motioned to the two large flags leaning against the wall - one red and the other blue. "Could you grab those?"
"Sure, you can stay!" she said with a grin. "And don't worry about your class, I'm sure the kids will love you. What grades are you teaching?" The weather was supposed to be nice, so she headed out the side door of the gym to set up outside.

"I hope so." Adrian said with a smile. "When we were younger, we got along fairly well.. It was right before she ran away the first time that we started fighting." He frowned slightly. He took the flags, and held them in one hand.
"You think so?" He asked, sounding as if he needing reassurance. "Thali's hoping they don't--I think she thinks I'm competing with her."

Kat squinted slightly as the sun shone right in her face, until her eyes slowly adjusted. "Tal might seem like she hates you, but I really don't think she does. I don't think she'd waste her energy grumbling at you if she did." When they reached the soccer field, she started tossing down hula hoops in random spots, and divided the styrofoam balls between the soccer goals.

Adrian's eyes grew to the size of saucers. He'd never thought of that--of course Thali wouldn't grumble at him if she didn't at least like him a little bit! He smiled. "You know, I think you're right." He said. "Do you want help with anything?" He asked.

Kat smirked at his wide-eyed reaction. Despite the fact he was older than Thali, he acted just like a little kid. "If you could just set the flags by each goal - that's all that's left to be done."

"Okay!" Adrian said happily, and went to set up the flags. It was true, the elf was less mature than his younger sister--though he was kinder. (Thali resented him for that.)
"Ben, I'm bored." Thali whined. "Class isn't for forty minutes and.." Her husband put a finger to her lips.
"Let's go tease Zee then." Ben said with a grin. "I hear he's getting a new student today--one he'll enjoy teaching most throughly."
It took a moment for Thali to figure out who he was talking about. "But she's not..." The elf started.
"But she looks it." Her husband finished. "As for you--I don't know how you got passed off as a teacher. You don't look much older than she does."

"Hey ya, Thals." Stasia said, coming up behind the teacher. "Don't tell me you got stuck going to school too." Yeah, it was apparent she had no idea the lady was a teacher. She smiled, yawning a bit. Silently, she swore to kill a certain someone for signing her up for school. Honestly, did he have to do this every decade or so? Ugh.
"Oh, hey Benny-boy." she greeted, almost as an after-thought.

"Hey Stasia." Thali said brightly. "Nah.. Just teaching this year. Mythology and history." She said with a shrug. "Matthias send you to school again?" She asked. "Or are you teaching? Zee's teaching too--though he doesn't seem very happy about it."
Ben just grinned. He knew who'd be a bad student this year. He gave Stasia a wink. "Make sure you pay attention in our classes." He warned. "We might give you... Detention."

Stasia glowered at the mention of the name, muttering darkly. Well, there was Thali's answer: yes, yes he did. "'M a student." she muttered, none to happy about it. She then look to Ben, smirking. "Yeah, like I'd actually show up." she said, rolling her eyes and chuckling. "Don't worry; I'll pay attention." To her iPod, maybe. Or a comic book. But to class? Never.

Thali smiled and shook her head. "I suppose he's on record as your guardian, too." She said, rolling her eyes. "Ben tried to do that last year--but I've convinced him otherwise." She looked to her husband, and gave him a challenging look. "Isn't that right?"
Ben had no choice but to agree with her. "Right." He said with a sigh. "Anyway--if you misbehave, we can always call your 'Dad'." He teased. Thali nudged him with her elbow as a sign for him to stop teasing. He kept at it--ignoring his wife's wisedom.
Zee was walking past. "Stasia!" He said happily--before smoothing his hair. As always, it looked like he'd just gotten out of bed. "I hear you're taking my class."

"He is....the stupid head." she muttered, crossing her arms in a rather childish manner. She then looked at Ben, narrowing her eyes. "Don't you dare, or I'll introduce Sammi to the wonders of gasoline." She'd follow through on that threat, too. Her mood brightened as she saw another familiar face.
"Hey Zee~" she said, hugging him. "Nah, I just cancelled it. Sorry." Now it was her turn to tease somebody.

Ben frowned slightly. "You wouldn't dare..." He muttered. "I'll let Ginger watch every romance movie we own." He threatened. He'd keep that one too--he knew Ginger could be as bad as Thali was--if not worse.
Zee looked so disappointed that Thali almost told him that Stasia was teasing him. She resisted the urge. "Oh.." The dark elf said. "I hadn't heard that."

Stasia shrugged. "And?" She didn't see how that'd be a bad thing. She then looked to Zee, smiling lightly. "C'mon, cheer up~" she said, hugging him. "You honestly think I'd schedule myself out of your class? I'm still in it, silly." She playfully punched his arm, a grin spreading across her face.

Ben sighed. "She'll be worse than how she was at the park." He promised. "But.. I'll make sure your father knows that you were threatening a teacher." He gave a smug grin.
Zee's frown turned upside down. "You mean you didn't quit the class?" He asked, his disappointment vanishing. He hugged her. "I'll give you an A+ on every assignment!"

Stasia frowned at Ben. "Keep it up, Benny-Boy. I'll get even with you...." She stuck her tongue out childishly before looking back to Zee. "Nope, I didn't." she said, chuckling. "And thank you~ Something tells me it'll be the only A I'll be getting this year." She hugged him back, grinning.
