Lelouch's death may be sad (I cried the whole day after I watched it crying ), but his death was necessary to make Zero a savior in the eyes of the world once more. He's truly a genius, cleverly plotting the next step of whatever he does until the end.

I feel he did have to die, and he has my full respect for it. What better way to unite the world than to create an enemy that the entire world can hate. When he died, he dragged all of the world's hatred and sorrow (which was directed at him) down to hell with him. In doing so, he provides a peaceful world for Nunnally to live in.

Ranku 9898 Couldn't he have killed C.C and become inmortal and then be zero again I doubt that's the case. Lelouch and C.C. had the kind of relationship where they wanted to be together. And besides, Lelouch would have to be alive in order to take C.C.'s code, which I do believe she still has at the end of the season. Also, Suzaku is Zero now. Most likely the Zero in the third season will also be Suzaku.

Sadly to say, but yes he did. After his death everyone was happier and he achived what he set out to do. I think if he hadn't died a whole new set of terroists who where against Lelouch would have shown up and Japan would never have the peace he created.

To be honest,yes. Because wouldn't be interesting in the 3rd season if there is one? And besides that, what could happen know since Lelouch is gone? Will C.C make another apperance,did Lelouch use the same tactics his mother made with Anya,what's going to happen to Nunnally and the others now? The ist goes on and on as we continue to create ideas for the 3rd season

Well since the point of his death was to unite the world against him he had to die and couldn't take any chances of anything going wrong by faking it because this was the final step and had to be done to the fullest. By becoming "the enemy of the world" he used humanity's habit of people, whether they be strangers to each other or enemies, uniting against a 'common enemy of the world' which he became. Once he was defeated everyone was together against him for so long that they learned to accept each other and such so it created world peace. Because of the sheer depth and importance of this step he couldn't take any chances by faking it or remaining alive.

Victoria the cute vampire To be honest,yes. Because wouldn't be interesting in the 3rd season if there is one? And besides that, what could happen know since Lelouch is gone? Will C.C make another apperance,did Lelouch use the same tactics his mother made with Anya,what's going to happen to Nunnally and the others now? The ist goes on and on as we continue to create ideas for the 3rd season First of all their ain't a third season but a new manga that explains more about C.C.s' past, and also Lelouch's mother used her geass on Anya to live inside her, some-what like a freaky mental parasite. If their was a third season, a new force like America maybe might threaten Japan and Britania with an improved version of F.L.E.I.A. (A nuclear bomb, probably.) and then Susaku will probably have to control the Britanian army for America or some other force to submit to Britania and established "another" world peace.

Even though I hated it when Lulu died--and cried buckets, honestly--I think his death was needed. His heart was in the right place, even if he schemed and hurt people and twisted things around, and the only way, really, to fix it all and take all the anger and blame and war away was to place it all on him and then when he died, there'd be nothing left but to start over again. He wanted to make the world safe for Nunnally, and those he cared about, and he succeeded. Pity he had to die for it, but he was determined to create the world and make it a better place. He knew what had to be done.

3rd season is set in the past in modern medieval times. and it would piss people off to have him somehow brought back to life. plus there was his semi-secret second goal. Atonement. He put all the world's hate and had himself die for world peace as his atonement for all of the horrible things that happened because of him and geass.
