Maybe a little bit of fowl? She wonders. Though she's never raised kittens before, the stray cats that used to come around her house loved the meat of birds and fish.
Before the towel comes, Baikou scoops up the kitten, wrapping it up in a voluminous sleeve, without regard for the egg-mess still on its scales and juvenile feathers. "What do you say to that, hmmm?" she coos at it, snuggling it close to her body to share her warmth.
... ... ...
It would appear that she's forgotten all about what just happened between her and Hitsuga.

He tries to ignore the ache that stirs in his chest as she seems to forget entirely that he's even there in the face of the new arrival. Its stupid, he's well-aware, and incredibly juvenile to feel jealousy, but....
....but maybe he ought to take the hint as its presented itself he decides as he quietly excuses himself from the room.
Whatever it was, that fleeting moment of courage that had reared its head a moment prior and goaded him into behaving as he had, is quite gone. And....at least for now, he's convinced he can be all right with that.
He has work to do, after all...
