After their quick meal, Teppy spent the rest of the day climbing the mountain happily, glad that things were going so well. Even though they took short breaks whenever they could, by the time they had reached the top, she was getting tired again. Though it was a good tired, the kind she felt after accomplishing something.
"We've made it!" she exclaimed, prancing around the top as much as space allowed. She had never done anything like this before! The air seemed thinner here, but it was pleasantly fresh, so Teppy took a deep breath, then let it out.
Once she had her fun she looked at Istas, wondering what they would do next.

"Well now, I think I missed time this." Istas looked around. It was a lovely sight to behold. She could actually, see fields, and teepees... Tons of other horses. "Well it's going to get dark soon, and I'm not to sure that we'll make it to the last flat before it gets to dark. And... I don't really think staying up here will be that safe." Her auburn eyes looked over at Teppy.
"I think that trying to get to that last flat will be safer then hanging out up here."

Teppy nodded in agreement. It was probably better to sleep somewhere flatter and lower down. She looked out for another moment, imagining that this was how winged creatures saw the world. She almost felt like she had wings too, and hat she was soaring across the plains. Though she was afraid of open spaces, she didn't find herself afraid here.
"Well I guess we should get going," Teppy said, squinting towards the falling sun. "Don't want to trip in the dark." With one last look from the peak, she started down again.

Istas was glad that Teppy liked it up there. Maybe the mare would come back at a later time. She looked out herself one last time before she went to follow after Teppy. Going down the mountain was a lot easier then going up. They were able to cover move ground on the way down. "This is a lot easier. Its sad to think the easiest part is going back down. But at the same time the work to get there make you appreciate it better."
After they found the resting spot for the evening, Istas asked Teppy how she liked the view they had seen.

Teppy nodded in agreement. "Yes it does seem to be easier. It's like the ground is trying to bring us back." She smiled a little, thinking about the thing called 'gravity' without really knowing what it was.
The afternoon passed by, so they found a resting spot for the night. Teppy was amazed by how far they had gone already. "The view was worth the journey," Teppy replied, nodding again. "I never knew so much existed outside of the forest. I don't have to remind you that I didn't even know what mountains were before." She gave a little laugh. "I have never been that... adventurous."

Tomorrow early afternoon at the latest they would read the ground again, and all this would be over. She blinked, having just caught what she said, and looking over at her. "oh, thats right. Well now that you know what's out there, you can explore now." On the ground the forest looked like nothing but trees, endless trees. But this answered that.

"It makes you feel a little bit small, but then it's okay because you know there is lots of room for everyone." Teppy said whimsically, then started to laugh. "I must sound like I ate some bad weeds. But that's how I feel."
Temperance settled into a comfortable spot. "I guess we should sleep, and then tomorrow we will be down..." She said it with a touch of disappointment. Everything had to end eventually, but she couldn't help but want to continue a bit longer. She had to start thinking about home, though. And of course Istas had her own life to get back to.

"I know what you mean. But... I don't think we'd be happy out here all that long. Its nice to get away, but... " She smiled some. She knew Teppy understood. And with that, she found herself a place stand for the night...
With much ease the sun had sun and risen again. The night went by peacefully. She looked around, yawning. "Well... I guess it'll only take an hour or so to hit the base. " She waited for Teppy to wake, and when she did, she started to lead the way. "We can get food at the base."

"Yeah... I kind of miss my two-legger. And my family." With that Teppy settled down in the spot and dreamed of her home. It was a nice dream, and by the time it ended, the sun was already bright in the sky.
"Did I oversleep?" Teppy got up in a hurry, seeing that Istas was already up. At least they didn't have to rush when they were so close.

We can end this with the next two posts.
Istas looked over at Teppy when she finally got up. There was no need for her to rush. but since she was up, it was time to move out. And heading down the last bit of the mountain, Istas enjoyed that last bit of mountain air. And it didn't long for the base of hte mountain to come into view either.
"Well it looks like we're there." She glanced back at Teppy.

It was a quiet walk, just as Teppy guessed it would be. She liked the peace, so she walked calmly until they arrived. Turning to Istas, Teppy smiled and lowered her head a little. "Well thank you for traveling with me. I guess this is where we go our own ways." The seasonal mare looked in the direction of her home, knowing that she would be back there soon.
"I hope we run into each other again soon." With that Teppy smiled once more and began to move through the trees.
