Of course he has it! Even though he's not monster-hunting today, strictly speaking, he likes to be prepared. Monsters sometimes sneak up when someone least expects it. And besides, it's a nice map. 3nodding
DOUBLE the chocolate? Xue's eyes widen as he imagines what that must be like. If this ice cream shop has it, he has to has to HAS TO try that.
Chocolate is wonderful! Des makes a lot of yummy things with chocolate, like cake and pie and muffins and pancakes, but chocolate ice cream is special. He doesn't usually get a stomachache from it, but if he eats too much too fast, his head hurts. Des told him it was called a frozen brain, but how could ice cream freeze his brain? confused
Hmmm. So Mei likes monster stories. Xue thinks very hard on the subject, trying to see if there are any he hasn't told her yet. He doesn't have as many as he would like...
Oh, there's the store! Xue points to a small shop with a pink and white striped awning. Hurry hurry, they're almost there!

Xue is so smart, Meirou smiles. He's always prepared for anything! Meirou is glad he'll be fine and nothing bad will happen to him, she hopes.
Meirou will share with Xue if this shop has it. 3nodding That way he'll be able to try some!
Oh, Des sounds like Meirou's dream chef. gonk Xue MUST introduce her to Des, lest Meirou end up crying for mercy over all these wonderful images of CHOCOLATE in FOOD. And brain freeze is a terrible terrible thing! Meirou has gotten it before too! The cold from the ice cream sort of seeps into the back of your throat, and the temperature hits your brain stem and bam! Instant paaaiiin. gonk Or something like that... sweatdrop
Meirou is sure Xue will have more as time goes on. And since she's sure they'll always be friends, he can tell them as they happen! 4laugh Xue will have many monster stories soon, she promises. And Mei wants to hear them all! And the stories about Des' wonderful food.
Meirou laughs, offering to race Xue to the shop. On your mark...Get set...Go!

Xue smiles awkwardly. While he's not shy about lavishing praise on other people, he doesn't usually get quite this much in return, and he really isn't sure how to handle it. But it definitely makes him happy to know that Mei thinks he's smart and prepared.
In that case, Xue will share with Mei too! Maybe if he asks nicely, the people at the shop will give him half a scoop of each flavor, so they can have everything without getting sick.
Des and Nusumu-oneechan are both really good cooks! He's lucky to know them both, but he talks about Des more because he lives with her and so he gets to eat her food every day. And it never gets boring! Des would love to meet Mei too; Mei has to come over some time. The technical explanation of brain freeze mostly goes over Xue's head, but he winces at it. Whatever it does, it hurts a lot, so they have to be careful and-

Xue wasn't actually going to run... but now that Meirou is, he hikes up his robes so he doesn't trip by mistake and makes a mad dash for the door. Even though he was a bit late catching on, he's putting every effort into winning, or at least keeping up.

Meirou grins, still running happily as she replies to him, not watching where's she's going.
Sharing sounds great~! Meirou hopes it'll work out. X3 She's sure Xue will love the Gold Coast Chocolate!
Oooh, then maybe Mei can sleep over at Xue's house for a weekend or something! That way Des can meet her and she can meet Xue's family and they can have fun and play games and go monster hunting and--
BAM.
Meirou, while not paying any attention to where she was going, ran into a pole. The girl flabberghastedly backs up a little bit, flops to the ground, staring at the object.

Xue's sure he'll love it too! And would she really? Xue would love to introduce Mei to his family, and Des can cook yummy food and he even knows which room she should stay in. This is great! He's excited and happy and almost at the shop and-
BAM?
Xue touches the door, leaning against it while he catches his breath. What was that noise?

Despite the fact that he's still out of breath, Xue sprints towards Meirou, promptly turning his bag upside down when he reaches her. A large number of things fall out, including the book he just purchased. Flashlight, book, map, water, spoon, feathers. And then, triumphantly, he pulls out a single, standard-sized band-aid, wrinkled from being stuffed in the bag but still sterile.
Ripping off the paper, Xue is poised to put the band-aid somewhere, when he realizes... where does Mei hurt? sweatdrop

Meirou sniffles, pointing to a bruising spot on her forehead, which seemed to be the main point of impact. Mei is so soooorrryyyyy. crying She should have been paying more attention and being smart and then this wouldn't have happened. gonk
Of course, she doesn't forget about the sleepover in planning. Mei really wants to go and have fun and be happy and eat good food and catch monsters with Xue!
